I just returned from 8 nights at VLE and it was great. My wife and I and our two teenagers loved it. It was spring break and Easter week combined so the property was 100% plus occupied. The only drawback of the full capacity was that to get a lounge chair by the pool you had to get up at 6 am and claim it. One of the managers told me they usually average 60% occupancy and this week they were at 100%. The property is beautiful, the grounds, pools and amenities are great. I have never seen more attention to cleaning a resort. The staff was constantly polishing and wiping down every inch of the exterior of the resort. We booked through one of the agents that represents individual owners of the units. This was a great way to go particularly because you know in advance exactly what unit you will be in so you know view, floor etc. The food is OK and the restaurant staff is helpful. Drinks are fairly expensive. We ate a couple times at the resort for convience but most dinners were in town which is a $7 taxi ride. Just down the beach are several restaurants and bars that are good for breakfast and lunch. We took a tax to Walmart and got food for most of our breakfast and lunches. The room sizes are very large and the balconies huge. We had a 2 BR units with a full kitchen, laundry and large living area. We enjoyed sitting our on the balcony in the late afternoon and evening. Internet is provided in the bedroom at no additional charge and wireless at the pool and lobby. I would definitely go back.

We spent a week Cabo San Lucas and the greatest accommodations at Villa La Estancia. We booked through VRBOand the owners property manager (rockstarrentals.com). He was very helpful and easy to work with. He sent us all the information that we could possibly need for our stay including lists of restaurants and golf courses in the area.

We had a fabulous condo with an incredible view of the Sea of Cortez and the surrounding mountains inland. Our daughter's boyfriend was with us and he had never been out of the country before. He was absolutely overwhelmed by the beauty and luxury of Villa La Estancia. Our condo had two large beautifully decorated bedrooms and three full baths. A huge balcony extended the entire width of the unit, with sliding doors from each room. It also had great furniture for eating a meal or just hanging out. We also had a fully loaded kitchen and a washer and dryer.

The grounds of the resort are stunning and extremely well maintained. The pools and hot tubs were favorites with us and we spent a lot of time there. Lunch served around the pool was delicious and moderately priced. Food at the restaurants on-property can be a little pricey but there are plenty of options on and off the property. The service provided by the staff was great and the amenities were fantastic. This place is first class all around.

A mini market with a deli/bakery and internet cafe is on the property, as well as, an ice cream shop and movie rental. Water taxis are always available on the beach to take you to the marina or on a sight-seeing tour. There are also opportunities for horseback riding on the beach and wave runner rentals within a few feet of the property. Wal-Mart and Sams are just across the highway ($7 for a taxi) with anything that you could possibly need or have forgotten to bring. Taxis are on standby so you never have to wait more than a few minutes and the concierge in the lobby can help you arrange any kind of entertainment or tour that you could want.

We had the best vacation ever in Cabo San Lucas and when we return, we will stay at Villa La Estancia. It is simply the best.

The Villa La Estancia was a wonderful place to stay. Here are a few highlights and tips:
The rooms look just like the pictures on the website. It's very clean and well kept. Housekeeping did a good job. The restaurants weren't cheap, but your in a resort, expect to pay more than you would in town.
There is little to no nightlife. The hotel is very quiet. Go in to town to party ans come back to a nice, quiet place to sleep.
The wireless internet connection worked well until the last day of our stay. There is a small grocery store and deli onsite. Great place for breakfast items or even lunch. You can walk to town from the hotel, but the beach is rocky and rough on the feet. It's only $7 to catch a taxi in front of the hotel and well worth it.
Overall, this was a great place to stay. Well worth the money.
1. Make sure you have bring sunblock. Although there is a lot of shade by the pools, you can still burn easily.
2. Tip well...the employees work very hard in hot weather.
3. Get a gold card and use it. We received ours by going through a time share presentation. You get a discount on food, the market, and activities booked through the hotel. We saved money on lots of fun!
4. The time share presentation can be a hard sell. I've heard horror stories about the pressure other hotels put on people to buy, but we didn't get that. By going through it, we received free dinners, massages, and a sunset cruise. It was 2-3 hours, but we got it our of the way and enjoyed the rest of our stay.
5. Food and drink are reasonable in town. Buys souviniers at the mall (much cheaper).

We had a great time and will definitely go back. Any questions, let me know!

Made reservation and paid for a vacation (first in 3 years). Paid entire package 2 months in advance and had Orbitz AND direct hotel confirmation of reservation.

Traveled 10 hours to be told there was an overbooking and no possible way there would be room in Estancia, that "the manager is working on it as we speak if you will be patient we will find a place in another facility". 4.5 hours in the lobby later they gave us a small room only after we advised them we had purchsed tickets to fly back out the next day. THEN THEY HAD THE NERVE TO CHARGE THE SMALLER ACCOMODATION THEY GAVE US TO REST BEFORE FLYING RIGHT BACK HOME.

We spent $1800 extra on flight tickets to leave the day after we arrived. When we asked Villa La Estancia be connected to Orbitz, staff ("Jimmy") insisted they could not reach Orbitz by phone (at least 3 times through the afternoon) and stated that the overbooking was not their fault because the firm Orbitz uses is an independent company and it was the fault of the unnamed intermediary who was alsoo not available by phone. Of course this intermediary was not identified by Villa La Estancia.

The manager admitted that they were aware of the overbooking in advance of our arrival date yet failed to call or email us or to find alternate facility for us. This resulted in our wasting $1200 in airfare to arrive to get the bad news personally. This was, they said, because they did not have any information on us, only the list from the 'booking company' yet that company was never contacted to get any contact information so we could be warned.

This is NOT an "Excellent" facility. Luxury resorts commanding top dollar do NOT strand customers in the lobby. Learn spanish before going because YOU WILL BE ON YOUR OWN IF TROUBLE ARISES!

This is written the day after our vacation started, have called Orbitz and so far have been offered less than 60% refund of our "Orbitz vacation package"for two days of wasted travel, $1800 in extra flight costs, and a short night in a room well below the accomodation identified on Orbitz.

After 4.5 hours of unsuccessful time in the hotel lobby after our arrival there was suddenly a lesser room that we could spend the night in to rest before our unplanned flight home. In fact, they said.... if we stayed in this lesser room for 4 nights we could have the room we reserved for the last night... how special of them.

By the way, another person was in the lobby who had been denied her reservation also and was staying in a lesser facility next door and had spent a miserable night and was back trying to get into the hotel. She was unsuccessful.

I overheard one of the staff advise someone that the hotel was 105% booked. Not sure how many rooms are at Villa La Estancia but am pretty sure that means 10-20 people with reservations ended up with an unexpected turn of events. Apparently in Mexico, "confirmation number" means little.

The facility appeared nice but was overrun with many kids, our HVAC did not work, and the balcony was shared with whomever was in the adjacent room so you could not leave the balcony door and expect any security or privacy, nor would one feel comfortable with the door open at night to hear the fountain or the ocean.

There was a persistent sewer smell in the air during the night

I hope that I will be able to append a report of successfull outcome on this NIGHTMARE. However, my vacation is destroyed and I am out $2,300 plus the $1,800 of added airfare. $4,100 POOF.

Be very careful of any non-American brand name facility. This is a real review and is true in its entirety. I leave my email address for any inquiry.

We are a VIP member at the La Arco Cabo, last December I tried to book 4 days in February at La Arco. I was finally refused by the time share staff. This is not what we were told when we upgraded, of course. With only a few days remaining I contacted La Estancia and spoke to Mr. Alejandro Neri. The next day he reserved the exact room and dates that I requested. Mr. Neri and his staff were there to greet me when I arrived at La Estancia. Mr. Neri even phoned me to see if my stay was fine and to let him know if there were any problems. Mr. Neri treats everyone I met at La Estancia this way. The Villa Group is very fortunate to have a person of his character.

Sincerly,
Harry Niwranski
