“A Must!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

We LOVED El Farallon and celebrated our anniversary dinner here on our last night in Cabo recently and so glad we did. The fish was cooked to perfection, the selection on the tasting for 2 was amazing and a really good value considering all the sides and appetizers we had which were also delicious and the wine was just as great. Our server was so knowledgeable and you can tell the fish and produce are super fresh and that they use local, organic ingredients. The dining experience under the moon watching the waves crash right in front of you was so beautiful but if high tide, just watch out if you're sat right at the cliffside because you can get wet! Also, I would def rec grabbing a drink at the infinity pool downstairs before dinner at their other restaurant- the guava margarita was one of the best drinks I've had and the views are gorgeous all around this property! Can't wait to go back!

“Pick a warm evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

El Farallon at Capella offers an exhilarating experience. Perfect for couples celebrating special romantic occasions. Situated at the Capella Pedregal resort, which itself is breathtaking, the restaurant is carved into the cliff a short walk north of the resort. Dining is all outside just above the seawall with the waves crashing on the rocks below. There is unobtrusive live music to add to the atmosphere. You are close to the surf, the waiter told us the night before, 3 tables got washed out. There is usually a mix of about half hotel guests and half non-hotel diners. The food selection was almost all fish, about 6 choices, priced from $40 to $50, including vegetables, a very small soup, and appetizers. A rib eye steak was also offered at $60. A better cut of steak should have been offered to match the caliber of the dining. The food was all open grilled prepared, and delicious in spite of being simply prepared. However the deserts were a disappointment. Our suggestion would be to walk over to Don Manuel's for dessert, also on the property. Don Manuel's had great dessert selections. We enjoyed their chocolate plate for 2, $26++. And you can sit and enjoy the live music in the bar area if you wish and hae an after dinner drink, a perfect way to cap off a special night. I have posted a separate review for Don Manuel's.
Be advised when dining at either restaurant, they are both open air. Although heaters and blankets are available, it will be a much more enjoyable experience going on a warm evening as it can be very chilly, especially at El Farallon with the sea breeze. Although both restaurants are expensive (Don Manuels slightly less so), you are paying for the atmosphere, and it is well worth it for a special occasion.

“Great Service. Below Average Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013 via mobile

We read the TA reviews and booked ahead. The night we picked there was a gale force wind blowing so it took the luster off this evening for us. The food was very average. My wife ordered the rib eye steak, which came out full of gristle and very chewy. I ordered the amber jack and did not really care for it or the presentation. They served it rare and were not inclined to cook it some more after I made the request. I will complement them on their fine selection of wines. Overall the Resturant is seriously overrated and expensive, there are many more fine dining experiences in Cabo!

“Great view, average food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

Typically we find restaurants with spectacular views have less than spectacular food. This place was no exception. Crashing waves, beautiful ambiance, a blanket to ward off the chill. This place was completely intoxicating. The seafood was very fresh and tasty. The soup was pretty good. The appetizer sides weren't very good, we barely touched them. The sides with the meal (asparagus and potatoes) were so-so. They really need to step it up and serve a more exciting menu. We had much better meals at some of the casual little Mexican restaurants in town. The ambiance here is really romantic with a pinch me it's so beautiful view. Everyone should experience this place at least once. I just don't really understand this menu. Overpriced and boring.

“Wonderful experience.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

Absolutely beautiful setting and impeccable service. One of the coolest places I've ever been to. The meal is a dining experience, fresh seafood and great sides. Very pricey, you could probably get a delicious dinner for less, but you are paying for the experience.
