“walk into the tropical jungle to your room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

No phones, no tv, in the room just beautiful architecture, the buildings have no corners and palm frond roofs it is a stunning property. Have been there several times and look forward to returning. they have a beautiful Club house w/ big screens 3 bars (2) poolside, and a restarant onsite that is wonderful. The beach is roped off for privacy and the palapa's are great to sit under and watch cabo go by. The internet cafe has several computers for keeping in touch and a VERY convenient minimart on site, booze, milk, cereal, soups, bread etc. and ice. wife and I have used the spa and loved it. Guess you can tell I love the place. Not for youngsters wanting to tear it up in cabo, nice walking distance from downtown and right on the beach.

Room Tip: rooms next to the street are some what noisey those above the front desk. the units on the north si...

“Fun but rundown property in search of hospitality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

I became enchanted with Club Cascadas when a group of friends and I went down to Cabo San Lucas to celebrate our birthdays 15 years ago. The property was fun and funky, with river rock and bamboo bathrooms (perfect for Fred & Wilma Flintstone) and bug netting over the bed. I remember having a lovely time, and sinking my feet in the warm sand as we had dinner on the beach overlooking the famous rocks of Cabo. I always wanted to go back to Club Cascadas, and in December 2012, I got my wish as my husband and I went down to Mexico to celebrate the holidays.

But much had changed in the 15 years since my last visit. We were assured that we would have a room with a private outdoor jacuzzi, but when we checked in, we were rudely informed that wasn't going to happen. The front desk manager was about as inhospitable as anyone I've ever seen at a hotel or spa; his manners were more like a club bouncer than a person whose job it is to welcome guests. We wound up being assigned a room with a door so warped it took two of us to push hard enough to open it. There are no telephones in the room (no television or radio either); we had to keep going outside to find a phone to call for maintenance. Club Cascadas kept promising to change our room or send someone to fix the door, but in a week, nothing was ever done. The hotel also proudly boasted that they had wifi services throughout the property, but again we couldn't get a connection anywhere. When we complained, the front desk told us they would alert their engineer, but that problem wasn't fixed either.

My husband and I love Mexico, and know that tourism is important during these rough economic times. We also love offbeat and interesting places to stay, rather than the typical big box hotel. But treating guests rudely, and ignoring requests for needed room repairs is not a way for any hotel to encourage repeat visitors. While we hope this charming property gets its act together to provide service and hospitality, we won't be going back to Club Cascadas.

“Keep going back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

We started going to Club Cascadas 5 years ago when it was recommended by our travel agent. We fell in love, bought a week and have been going back 1-2 x a year ever since. It is a really special place in that you get all the benefits of being in a well established resort area like Cabo, with the added benefit of being at a small, intimate, unplugged resort where you can relax and feel like you are on a secluded island. Its perfect if you love to relax, read, swim, and spend time with your family.

Room Tip: there's no bad rooms but all are really different.

“Old Mexican Charm ~ Villa Style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

If you want to walk out of your Villa door, and step a few feet away, you will have a charming little pool, with swim-up bar. Go another 20 feet, and you have the ocean. We stayed at Club Cascadas through our travel club, Global Discoveries/Trading Places, and we very impressed. This is not your typical high rise, with huge pools, and water slides if that is what you are looking for. Rather, you will find a more relaxed layed back environment. Kids are allowed, although this seemed to cater toward the adult crowd. This is also a timeshare, so many people have been going there for 25 + years (all of whom were extremely friendly and welcoming). Fortunately, Club Cascadas is on the Sea of Cortez, which allows for ocean swimming. Should you chose the Pacific side of Mexico, the rip-tides make it sometimes dangerous to swim, so this is definitely where you want to be. The club offers many of the amenities that you will find at a 5 star. The restaurant is hands down phenomenal, with a theme each night. The chef even took our Dorado that the men caught while deep-sea fishing and made sushi out of it for us....and served us beach-side as we hunkered down under our palapa's. Thursday pm is a welcome reception for newcomers, and Friday am don't miss the introduction at the club house.Centrally located, you will find a Walmart for grocery shopping within 2 miles. We took a bus there (old school bus) for a $1, then took a cab back for $12. They even deliver your groceries right to your front door with a little cart that they have. The Spa is small, but the massage was out of this world...and prices were very reasonable. $45 for an hour. I took two cooking classes onsite at the club house, which was fun! Also, for being in Mexico, the beds and pillows at this resort were very comfy and plush! Downtown is safe to walk to..just be in a group. We went and saw the Sammy Hagar concert in October 2012, at Cabo Wabo (take a cab for this restaurant), which was awesome. Overall I would say this is a great resort that I would highly recommend! Helpful hint:: as in any city in Mexico, bring at least $100 to $200 in one's for tipping!

Room Tip: The Villa's are 3 stories. If you have the option of a ground level, you have a nice hammock an...

“One of the nices places I have ever stayed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

This place is not like your average hotel type resort. They have all the things your would expect. Plus a feeling of community and family! The restaurant's staff and food are the best. It has a wonderful best beach frount with bar service while you sunbathe. Their are two large swimming pools with swim up bars. The rooms are very romantic! I would recommend this place to everyone. Very kid friendly too.
