We just came back from Cabo, and frankly, are very disappointed in the unit we rented from realtor Linda Clark. It was unit 242-B. We so clearly requested BEACHFRONT right on the beach and KING size bed...
Linda Clark “confirmed” that we are getting what we want. We trusted her and paid promptly. The unit we rented could be called a dump without exaggeration. It was located in the most far away from the beach part of Terrasol, overlooking buildings and parking lot, right next to the ugly, noisy construction which started at 7 am every day and lasted till 8 pm. Construction noises were so loud in our room – it was crazy! Jack hammers and metal cutting! The beach was partially seen from the unit, but it was so far away. The walk was pretty long and unpleasant – through parking lot, by construction and some awful sewage smells. This was not “on the beach”. For some unknown reason the sewage smells from outside at night rose and filled our room through open windows... It was so bad!
The unit itself was barely 2 star dumpy dark and unclean cell, the bed (which we so hoped to find comfortable and large) was smaller then queen, probably full size, and very stiff. We were shocked how dark and smelly the place was. The whole unit was unclean, way overdue for a paint job, had a prominent bad smell and furnishings were incredibly shabby and soiled. Linens were so old, they didn't have any feel of comfort next to your skin, forget the luxury. No plants or flowers on a tiny balcony, just some old broken plastic chairs. Some other privately owned units I believe had nice decor and beautiful plantings around them. The owners of this unit (242-B) are not investing anything in it, and just keep renting this dump... The unit next to it was abandoned and had plywood nailed for a door...The old fridge was making a very loud noise that woke us up at night. There was no light in the shower and not even a spare roll of toilet paper...
There is no restaurant on premises, and bar closes about 4 or 5 PM. We ate breakfast there once, and couldn't do it again - just poor quality and lack of hospitality. Coffee was made late and was really bad. Go to Playa Grande for a nice one or make your own.
The resort itself is quiet, but not a serene hospitable quiet, rather just lack of service, help or hospitality. No one is willing to accomodate or help you, even people at the bar make you feel like you bother them. They tried to charge us for cleaning service in the end of our stay although it was clearly included in our contract. We were told they try it with everyone. If you don't expect service and just don't want to be bothered with anything - it may be good place for you. There is no daily maid service there, so no one will bother you.
The unit we rented may be good for some students vacation, or for a low income family, “economy” style.
Also, there are other units, which looked (at least from outside) like nice places. The closer to the beach you get, the better the unit seem to be. I guess it really depends on a particular owner. There are 2 heated pools, and lots of blossoming bushes which add color to the place. The beach barely has any people on it, which is great, and the rocks are just spectacular! The best food we found at nearby Galeon restaurant, Playa Grande had OK food, other places didn't impress us.
Beware of renting from Linda Clark -workers at front desk at Terrasol told us that we are by far not the only unhappy customers who got hurt by her dishonesty. They put it very simple: “Many people are angry. Linda Clark is not telling the truth”.
