We just got home tonight (2/7) from our vacation in Cabo. We stayed at an all inclusive the first 4 nights and then moved to the Bungalows for our last 2 nights. We read the reviews and knew what to expect... somewhat . I say that because you really never know until you get there. We were pleasantly surprised! The Bungalows isn't a "big property resort "...it's a Bed & Breakfast....exactly what we wanted after doing the impersonal "big resort thing!" We loved it and especially loved the staff. I'm sad about the last review that was written. I had read about the roosters and I was expecting that to wake us up too. We were so exhausted when we laid down at night that we Never heard any of that! We really liked that we were so close to downtown that we could walk and then get a cab back for just $6. We loved the "gourmet breakfast"...it was definitely gourmet! So Yummy!!! One night we were so tired and came back early and picked out one of the movies out of their "movie collection" and popped some popcorn and just hung out in our room.....fun!!!
Eric had fabulous restaurant reccomendations! That was so helpful! They called a couple of massage therapists to come to our room so that we could have a couples massage. So afforadable and the best massage ever!!! Our bed was softer than the one we have at home! It was definitely softer than the all inclusive hotel we started out at. I forgot to arrange our travel to the airport and Eric called and took care of that for us. We rode first class to the airport in an Escalade with the most wonderful man! He really filled us in on some great Cabo history..he even showed us Sammy Hagar's home!!! Our stay was wonderful and we had fun and felt like we were staying at our relatives home! Thank you Bungalows or making it great!!!

The ratings given to this hotel are inaccurate and deceptive.

Yes the staff is nice, however, the property location, its grounds and rooms are not what you would expect, especially when the ratings given in this site indicate the best Hotel in Cabo. We made a reservation for 3 nights, stayed one horrible night and departed to look for another place. Could not sleep all night, the traffic of the cars driving by. The hotel is situated on a main residential street that is the only entrance to a section of the neighborhood, and therefore if you room faces the street like our was, you will hear cars all night. In addition, dogs barking all night, and rosters singing at the crack of dawn will prevent you from having a peaceful night rest.

Rooms are small, the furniture ran down, mattress old and not adequate, small hot water heater will prevent you from taking a long shower.

The property was built into a small lot, buildings too close to each other, over crowded! Small swimming pool area makes it impossible to have privacy, you seat in the pool area with the laundry facility doors open and the sound of washing machines working all day.

Sorry other reviewers, there are many levels of standards in the hospitality business, and for the price that you pay at the Bungalows you are being short changed. There are too many other first class hotels in Los Cabos, much closer to the water front, and with great grounds and services. This hotel only attribute is the people at the front desk, and as far as the property is concern it requires a major upgrade. The breakfasts are Ok, however there is nothing gourmet about them as suggested by other reviewers. I cannot recommend this hotel for anyone that wants to enjoy a relaxed peaceful vacation, until management corrects the necessary issues.

We booked last minute at The Bungalows and it turned out to be a great time! We chose this hotel because it had gotten great reviews on this website. So when we called from Chicago and talked with Eric (one of the owners), we instantly felt welcomed and comfortable and decided to go for it.

Since The Bungalows arranged our transportation from the airport, we were able to walk by all the haggling (and annoying) hotel reps. Once we arrived at the hotel, Junior (another owner & brother to Eric) showed us to our room and made us feel right at home. He gave us all kinds of ideas for excursions and restaurants - all of which were off the tourist path. Make sure to ask about Ronnie and his excursions if you're interested in outdoor adventure. A big bonus for us was being able to pay for the week in cash so we didn't pay any additional taxes.

The room was clean and comfortable. It was outfitted with a small refrigerator, microwave, and a plunge put coffee maker. We did have a couple issues with our toilet leaking. Once we told the staff, it was fixed the same day.

The breakfasts were outstanding! Every day of the week was something different. (We were there for 8 days.) The staff went out of their way for us - even cooking us come additional quesadillas for the bigger eaters in our group. The hotel serves all vegetarian food so if you're looking for meat you'll have to get it on your own.

The heated pool was great too. It was clean and well kept. It was pleasant to sleep beside and take a refreshing dip in.

The only suggestion for other guests is to bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. The hotel is nestled in a neighborhood near the downtown area, so throughout the evening you may hear a rooster or dog or two. Junior told us how to help eliminate the noise by turning on our airconditioner, but the airconditioner fan was louder than the animals. By the end of the week the noises became more of a joke to us, but we can definitely see how that they would be annoying.

The hotel is walking distance to downtown shops, restaurants, marina, and beaches. We walked everywhere, which we really enjoyed. But heads up if you don't like that kind of thing.

Having been bombarded all week with vendors on the beach and hotel/condo lobbyists, we quickly learned that you don't get something for nothing in Cabo. Yet, on the last day at The Bungalows, Eric brought in a masseuse so we could have the free massage that he had promised. And . . . there was no catch. Even if the guesture was not in the Cabo context, it was a welcomed treat.

We highly recommend The Bungalows, particularly for this price range.

We visited the Bungalows while staying at another hotel in cabo for breakfast. they do not serve to people not staying at the hotel, but Estela the owner treated us to breakfast. The place is remarkable. Next time we come we are definately staying there.

What makes this place so special is the management (and her family that helps her). Upon your arrival you truly feel as if you are part of the family and you already have friends in Cabo. We relied on them for advice, from recommendations for non-touristy places to eat to the best way to get around town or to finding a non crowded beach, and we were never disappointed. The hotel itself is somewhat of an oasis in the busy city; lush garden, clean pool, high walls giving us a feeling of security. As the website shows, the rooms are fairly uniquely decorated, but not especially large or filled with lavished accommodations. Breakfast was as good as advertised. The only negatives, and these are not big negatives, is the TV only plays tapes (no TV stations), low shower pressure, and I would of liked if they provided comfortable chairs with reading lights. While some travelers may prefer the view and the accommodations of the Cabo mega resorts, for those wanting to get away for what feels a more authentic Cabo trip, it is hard to imagine you could do better than The Bungalows.
