Paradise is the only word that comes to mind when we reflect back on our April 16th week stay at the Bungalow hotel. My husband and I joined two other couples who are also in their late 20's to celebrate our first anniversary together and our friend’s engagement in Cabo. I want to begin by thanking Junior and his beautiful wife who assisted my husband in organizing the most fabulous anniversary dinner consisting of a sunset overlooking the Pacific ocean at the Blue Marlin restaurant at the Hotel Finisterra. This was only the beginning to the wonderful service that Junior, Eric and Estella provided to us for the week stay we had at the Bungalows. Junior arranged a fabulous fishing trip for us on a 33 foot Charter Boat which was actually larger than expected. My husband caught a 4' Mako shark, and our friend caught a 4' Blue Marlin. Junior was so kind and thoughtful that he even cooked some of the Blue Marlin in the Bungalow’s kitchen when he wasn’t even working. The cheese with white wine flavored Marlin was definitely our favorite. It is very difficult to describe the little things about the Bungalows we loved ....the tasty chocolates located on the bed at check in, the hand made soap that you get in your room each day, the delicious gourmet breakfasts, fountains and little benches scattered around the grounds. The little humming bird at breakfast that actually stopped for a moment and bathed in the fountain. The serenity of the couples massage that you can request at anytime. The location of the Bungalows is absolutely perfect. A walk down two hills gets you right into the heart of town, a shopping market, ATM and excellent nightlife and restaurants. The beach is less then a 20 minute walk from the front door, or you can take a taxi for six people for about $12 and it only takes 5 minutes. There is a little corner market a half block from the Bungalows for soda and beer. Upon our first entry to the Bungalows we were treated like family by Junior. He walked us around our cozy suite, helped us with our safe combination and made us feel welcome. The cozy suite had all the latest amenities, including a microwave to heat up leftovers and a refrigerator that the Bungalows provides a gallon of fresh water daily upon request. Our experience was defiantly made more enjoyable from the advise by Junior, Eric and Estella to restaurant choices, La Fonda, Patagonia, VIP at the Office (thanks Junior) and Gordo Le Le (best tacos and 5th Beatle in Cabo). If you are a sushi lover, enjoy Solomon’s landing and if you are a wine lover enjoy Sancho Panza for their Wednesday wine tasting and live music. We are completely in agreement to all of the wonderful reviews that we read prior to our trip to the Bungalows. However, I will say that we definitely did not experience an “off week” and we should all keep in mind where ever we go we should always treat others how we’d like to be treated. Again, my warmest regards to Junior, Estella and Eric. Our hope is we see you sooner than expected for a possible wedding in Cabo at the Bungalows :)

Each time I stay at the Bungalows I am more and more amazed!! This year I went down for spring break with some of my friends and we were completely impressed with the peaceful environment, great breakfast, and excellent hotel staff (thank you soo much Erik and Estella)!! We love the Bungalows because everyone is so friendly and you can get to know many of the other guests due to its quaint size. It's location is also quite perfect because it is secluded enough to provide a relaxing and quiet environment, while still being only a short walk to the downtown and beach areas. We found that our favorite activity during the day was actually staying at the Bungalows and just lounging by the pool all day or reading in the hammocks. The deluxe bungalow we stayed in was always clean (thanks to the staff) and the attached outdoor patio was a fun way to get outside and chat, read, or get some fresh air on very comfortable hammocks. Although we did have to wake up by 10am to get breakfast, it was well worth it. The food is sooooo good (especially the mango pancakes and breakfast burrito!!). The Bungalows definitly made our vacation in Cabo!!!

I think I read too many reviews by other visitors on this hotel. We just came back and while the place was nice, it certainly isn't 5 stars. We had a 2-bedroom unit with a hammock, and during the day the place was quiet with lots of families. It was the nights that were bad. Bring ear plugs if you are not a VERY SOUND sleeper. Each night we were there, loud music from the surrounding community started to play at 1:30am and didn't stop until after 3am. Because The Bunglows in on the major road into town, there is constant traffic -- cars with booming stereos that can be heard easily -- at least from our 2nd floor room -- at all hours of the night/morning. Nobody had mentioned the NOISE in any of the reviews that I read so I was a bit surprised by it all. Upon check-in, Junior casually mentioned that there might be noise at night and that we should turn on the air conditioner and that would drown out any outside noise. We ran the air conditioner each night, but the loud music and street noise still came through.

Estelle and Junior are very nice and accommodating. They will make any reservation you want and have lots of suggestions. The breakfasts are nice, attractively presented, but not outstanding. The hotel is a little worn -- the breakfast area chairs have holes in the leather and the common area for books and videos needs an upgrade. The room we were in didn't have a coffee pot (even though the maid left ground coffee each day), so I asked for a coffee pot. They only had a small "Mr. Coffee" which I had to ask for twice and then the next day it was gone again. I decided not to bother to ask again.

We didn't mind the walk into town even though the walk back is steep uphill. The Bungalows is a ways away from the center of town, but that is why we booked this hotel -- to stay away from the party/spring break crowd. Unfortunately, the locals surrounding the Bungalows Hotel in this residential area were very noisy. We do not blame the Hotel, but the noise was not something we expected nor were prepared for.

We chose The Bungalows based on other reviews read here. We agree with most of the other travelers' comments: the walk into town was not bad; the walk back (uphill) was too much - we took a taxi; the service and breakfasts are excellent; the rooms are clean and comfortable. One thing that we missed was TV (although the DVD selection was great). One minor problem we experienced was dogs barking our first night (they barked incessantly - located on a nearby property).

Mi Casa es Su Casa.
Eric and Estella truly made our stay more of what vacations are supposed to be. We just arrived home tonight and wanted to get this out on the internet so the next Cabo decision makers can truly enjoy this wonderful, restful haven.

I'm not sure where to begin: Estella greeting me by name as we stepped from our airport shuttle, to Eric and Estella giving wonderful options for our dining desires, to Eric driving us to our first lunch at La Fonda, to the special pots of coffee to take the chill off in the early afternoon, to meeting other Bungalow guests poolside, at the wonderful Bungalow breakfasts, in town or by chance at one of the recommended dinner locations...service, service, and more service with a smile.

You cannot go wrong with this wonderful hotel selection. We relied on the reviews from TripAdvisor to make our selection to stay at the Bungalows and want to add our comments for the next guests making their decision to visit Cabo.

We enjoy exercise, so our daily walk down the hill to get to the shops, restaurants and the beach was welcomed. However, the walk up the hill was a bit more difficult after a long day walking around or after a few margaritas. The oleanders can be a little difficult to maneuver along the sidewalk if you are set on walking, like we were. There is always the option to call a taxi or get a rental car. We were pretty set on getting our exercise and seeing Cabo by foot.

Enjoy this wonderful find as so many others have too!
