This is my second trip to Los Cabos. My first trip I stayed with my wife at Las Ventanas which was a wonderful luxury hotel, but at almost $1000 per night U.S. dollars after all fees (not including the other $500 a day we spent on dining and spa activities), that was more money than I would want to spend again. This trip was one with family and friends and I was in charge to put together an AFFORDABLE trip, so Las Ventanas was out of the running. I chose The Bungalows Hotel based on the reviews here in Tripadvisor. I must admit, with all of the incredible reviews of the hotel, I had very high expectations. On the other hand, there was four of us in a bungalow and we paid less than $45 each including breakfast, so I did not have outrageous expectations. As with anything I look at relative value, and The Bungalows Hotel was a real bargain.

The Bungalows is not a luxury hotel, nor would I want it to be. It is a small tropical inn that reminds me of what Melrose Place would have looked like in a tropical setting. The service was at least as good if not better than the best hotels I have ever stayed anywhere at ANY price.
The rooms looked like they were out of a Pottery Barn Catalog and were meticulously clean. There was all of those neat little amenities that you find at high-end bed and breakfasts. I loved the open air spa where I was treated to a 20 minute complementary massage and I followed up a couple days later for a full hour message. I can't remember a massage that good. I really loved the saline pool. I was told that it was a new addition to the hotel and it really leaves your body feeling smooth and refreshed.

I really liked the fact that we were not nickled and dimed for everything. The large movie collection, buttered popcorn were all free. I asked if I could buy a cup of coffee in the early evening and Erik ran in to make us a fresh pot which he served to us, free of charge. During our stay, French Presses with fresh ground coffee were added to our room. On check in, our group received this incredibly refreshing lemon-cucumber water. We started each day with an incredible breakfast which was different each day. My vote for best breakfast was the mango-banana pecan pancakes!

My only minor complaint is that they don't serve dinner (too bad!) but Erik helped us with many good places to eat. Try the Sand Bar on the beach - Great food, service, and prices with a bonfire at night to boot.
The bottom line, it was clear to me that the main goal of the staff was to make sure that I had the best possible experience during my stay in Cabo. Nothing seemed forced, just genuinely good people with your best interest in mind. I knew I was going to like my stay from the beginning when one of the staff took my bags to the room and I offered the customary tip. He graciously told me that tips were not necessary and he was happy to be of assistance. That was another first in my travels! Needless to say, I left nice tips for the staff upon checkout.
If value is important to you and you want to stay at an unpretentious place where your needs are truly taken care of, this is the place. Thanks Tripadvisor and thanks to all the people at The Bungalows, we will be back for sure.

Staying at The Bungalows was a wonderful introduction to Cabo. From the moment we walked in the door, Estella, Eric, and Junior treated us as if we were part of their family. They provided us with tips on how to get the most out of our pesos....from restaurants, cab fares, activities....and even got us a better deal on a 'timeshare presentation' where we ended up getting actual money in US dollars. We truly felt like they were concerned about us as people, not just guests. Every morning we were treated with a great cup of coffee and a wonderful gourmet breakfast, always served by Eric or Junior with a smile and questions about our adventures the night before. At night, they would offer recommendations on restaurants, asking us what we were in the mood for, then call us a cab and arrange for the fare. I truly believe we saved money by using them as resources. We really wanted an authentic Mexican experience and found it at The Bungalows. Even the guest were friendly. We met people from all over the US and Canada, and felt like we were at a family reunion, where we liked our relatives.

A+ pretty much sums up my experience at the Bungalows. The accomodations are modern, yet filled with Old World Mexican charm. Every amenity is available to the guests, which are treated like family by the wonderful staff. Along with our room came a wonderful garden setting, pool and all the information about the Cabo area one could want. The staff was so helpful in helping us decide what to see and how to get there. The only problem was that it was so nice, we didn't want to leave the Bungalows! And the breakfast, which is served every morning with fresh coffee, juice, smoothies, etc., was to die for...

The Bungalow Breakfast Inn makes you feel at home when you are away from home.. I was very impressed with the reviews and late at night Tish in reservations answered all my e-mail questions in a matter of minutes. She arranged our stay in a garden bungalow suite to suit the needs of my family. Estelle and Jr. greeted us with fresh juice and we were sorry we missed the first breakfast due to fishing early. The next day the yummy breakfast started with great coffee in huge pottery mugs and then the cheese omelet with a mushroom creme sauce arrived!!! What a great way to start the day...The mexican decor of the rooms is tastefully done with digital air conditioning units and comfortable beds. The service at the Bungalow Inn was superb and Jr. and Tish made several restaurant recommendations which were very helpful. We will definitely be back next year and highly recommend the Bungalow Breakfast Inn.

It's hard to think of anything good to say that hasn't already been said about The Bungalows...beautiful place, fantastic breakfasts, nice rooms and super-friendly staff...and I surely can't think of any negative points. We booked a stay here in December based solely on the reviews on this web site, and were more than completely satisfied.

My advice would be to take the suggestions of the staff for anything you want to do. Erik sent us to one great restaurant after another, and their recommendations for activities all led to quality companies. Especially for Scuba diving, you like to have some confidence in the outfitter, and we were given a good one.

Next time I'll let Tisha arrange my transportation from the airport instead of trying to fend for myself. We did that on the way back, and it was much better than the shuttle.

All in all a great place to stay, and we'll return for sure next time in Cabo.
