“Felt like family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

I recently traveled to Cabo on a girl's get-a-way/wedding location scouting trip for my sister's wedding later this year. We stayed in a Garden Bungalow and loved everything about it. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was very convienient and the shower had excellent water pressure. Our room was very quite (both rooms had air conditioners and that may have helped drown out any sounds) and the sitting area was large enough to accomidate all four of us nicely. The breakfasts are out of this world and served from 8-10 each morning with fresh fruit juice and coffee. However, the very best part about the stay was the warm and welcoming staff who will do anything for you to help make sure you have the best stay possible and are always ready with a hug!

We had a Cozy Suite. The smallest of the units.

Pros - Very friendly and accommodating staff (very good English), morning breakfast very good. Room: kitchenette area very adequate (if it wasn't in room it was likely in the office area i.e. Wine opener), comfortable bed, good size shower, towels/hand-towels/washcloths, A/C worked well and 2 ceiling fans w/lights, TV and DVD, but no TV channels. Good selection of DVDs at office.
Quiet (about 7 blocks from party areas), smallest bungalow is good size, pool good size and kept clean, very tropical setting around pool.

Cons - The bed is on a concrete pedestal - watch your toes. The drapes on the windows are not room-darkening. So, the rooms were not dark at night. The Cozy Suite is a good size. However, the furnishings are small. Round table w/2 chairs, small 2 cushion couch (to small to lay down on, except small child), a couple other pieces. Storage (closet, safe, shelving) access through small door. Was a bit awkward to use.
Will check on cost difference to move up a room/class on next visit.

Suggestion: Bring a flashlight for each (we did). We walked even at night. Not all street lights work!

Room Tip: Saw there was a room on the 3rd floor, southeast corner, that really looked very interesting. Sugge...

Arrived Feb. 28, 2014. On arrival we were given some fresh juice, some information and shown to our room. It is three stories with no handrails, which would have helped me since I have an ailing knee. We were told to ask for a lower floor next time. I believe I had requested that in our reservation. It is in no way intended for cooking meals. There is a French press coffee maker, a small microwave, a refrigerator (small). Not really meant to prepare meals. Breakfast is included, there is one entre , juice, coffee or tea. Manager gave us direction to walk or taxi to a very nice dinner restaurant. Over all fine for a night.

Staying at the Bungalows was a treat and we'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for an authentic B&B experience in the heart of Cabo. We generally do the all inclusive thing, but we wanted to try something different for our second visit. I read many reviews before deciding to book The Bungalows for our 5-day vacation. First let me say how much we really appreciated the detailed information about the hotel that came by email prior to our arrival. In addition to helping us set up our airport transportation, they carried our heavy bags to our room and greeted us with fresh juice. I can safely say I've never been hugged upon arriving at any other hotel. It made us feel very welcome, like we were at home with family. We decided on a hammock suite, which was a two bedroom (comfortable king, queen and single bed), so we had more than enough room for the two of us. The suite featured kitchenette with a cold fridge, microwave, bar/eating area and a good size patio with hammock that overlooked the back of the hotel, pool/breakfast area. I heard someone complaining about the stairs up to the rooms but that wasn't an issue for us and quite do-able for those without mobility issues. Their daily breakfast, which was outstanding, is served from 8-10 AM with fresh fruit, fruit juice or smoothies, extraordinarily good coffee and a tasty 'main course' (included everything from waffles to eggs benny). We appreciated not having to go far for our first meal of the day, especially if we'd had a late night. I was also very grateful that they offered us breakfast the day we had to check out, despite having to leave right away. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the downtown/marina area and some of it is uphill, but not too strenuous. They have a pool area, which we didn't use as we opted to walk to the beach but many people did. The grounds are clean and we felt secure at all times (they lock the main gate at night and give you a code to enter). The only thing that was a little hard to get used to was the noise in the morning. We have a sound proof room at home, so we're a bit sensitive but between the roosters, birds, cars and construction, it wasn't conducive to sleeping in unless you're a sound sleeper or have ear plugs. We didn't mind so much though as we wanted to be sure we got up to enjoy the day and we didn't want to miss breakfast. The staff and owners are very friendly Carina, Erik and Bento (sorry if I misspelled). They never made you feel like you were bothering them or putting them out with your requests. They helped others make dinner reservations, called taxis and arranged for tours. Thanks for a great stay. We hope to visit again soon.

Room Tip: If you have mobility issues, be sure to make them aware, so they can book suitable accommodation. Th...

This was a great place to stay in Cabo. Family run boutique hotel, close to downtown and the Marina and easily accessible by car.
Erik the manager was so welcoming and they truly go out of their way to make you feel at home. They offer complimentary breakfast, heated pool and beautiful well equipped rooms.
Such a relaxing place, I can’t wait to go back.

What a hidden little gem this place is! From the moment we arrived (to the phrase, "first off, welcome home!" and our first hug of the trip) we were hooked on this place. Charming, quiet, quaint, it DID indeed feel like home. The morning breakfasts are to die for...all of the options delicious in taste and presentation. Smoothies and fresh juice to accompany....combined with the thickest, tastiest coffee outside of our own kitchen, each morning started off right. Easy walking distance to anyplace you want to go to. We even walked to the opposite end of the marina one afternoon without any problem. A little secret or two: the Penny Lane Cafe up the hill about a block from The Bungalows has a farmers market each Wed and Sat. Go!!!! Also, if you continue up the hill through the gate (just walk on the left side like you belong there) you will wind up the hill farther to see some spectacular homes and views of both the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez. (we walked up to the very top and watched boats, birds and whales for hours one day).
A very safe neighborhood (never felt uncomfortable at all). Coffee and juice are offered (to mix with your tequila) anytime of day. Hugs abound....from Allie and the others on staff. Be ready! (if you give good hugs in return they will seek YOU out too). The pool is often shaded, but that was okay with us...we got our constant sun by walking, climbing the hill to Pedregal, going to the beach, etc.
The rooms are so cozy and quaint. You have a small kitchenette, a futon, small table, comfy bed and a roomy shower. Nothing more needed. We would go back here in a heartbeat!!!

Once again, THANK YOU Bungalows! This was our 5th time at this amazingly wonderful and relaxing Bed & Breakfast! We would never stay anywhere else in Cabo. Sincerely.
We were in a regular cozy suite the first night as the Bungalow we had for the remainder of the trip was not available....we knew this coming down though, and it was no problem at all. 3 of us fit quite comfortably in the cozy room before moving into our Bungalow quite promptly the very next morning.
Erik as usual was full of hugs and love every morning at breakfast....always a great start to your day :)
Breakfast was WONDERFUL everyday....the pool area was a FABULOUS little oasis....and the rooms were super clean & super comfortable as always.
We will be back again & again & again!

Room Tip: Stay in a Bungalow.....you will NOT regret it!
