This was the first time my husband and I vacationed in Cabo. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. We loved the flare of “vintage Mexico” the Bungalows has, from their incredible hospitality to the gourmet breakfast, the hotel and the staff made our stay a vacation to remember. The Bungalows is located on top of a hill, a ten minute walk from the center of town. We enjoyed walking everyday, sometimes twice, and are convinced this is why we did not gain any weight during our vacation. The pool is heated, the rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. Eric and Estella did a phenomenal job in making our stay as pleasant as possible.
When you arrive at the Cabo airport, beware of the timeshare sales people. You will get accosted! It’s worth spending the extra $30.00 and renting a suburban with a driver. We had the most incredible dinner at the Sunset Mona Lisa Restaurant; it was like something out of a movie. I booked an afternoon massage and pedicure at the RUI Palace. It was wonderful! and lunch was included. Beware of the jello shots at the Giggling Marlin, what a scam! A guy and gal come by with a tray of jello shots, force them down your throat and then tell you that you owe them $20.00. The other learning lesson is call from Mexico to the United States; make sure you buy a calling card. DO NOT SWIPE YOUR CREDIT IN A PAY PHONE! IT WILL COST YOU $43 PER CALL.
We traveled up North to the fishing town of Los Barillas. We stayed at the Playa del Sol Hotel. I would suggest staying at the Hotel next door at the PALMAS DE CORTEZ, it’s much nicer and not much more in price. Fishing was great. Los Barillas is much more relaxed and no pressure from sales people.
Our overall vacation was great. We learned what to do and not do.
