My wife and I stayed at Misiones in January, 2004, and loved it. We learned a long time ago that if you rent a unit from a full time owner instead of the hotel, you will encounter less problems because of "pride of ownership". We found the one bedroom condo on vrbo and had dozens to choose from in Cabo. We liked the pictures of the living room, kitchen, bedroom and view on the website so we knew exactly what our unit would look like, rather than leave it up to where the front desk wanted to put us. One reason we chose our unit is because it had a washer and dryer, so we didn't have to deal with maids. It also had a propane BBQ on the balcony for cooking, which was very convenient. After we emailed the owner for information, he called and told us all about the condo and the resort. He recommended we rent a car because "there is no free shuttle" and cabs in Cabo are expensive. He also emailed us tons of info on Cabo that saved us time and money. We didn't sit or drink at the pool, but we did buy tacos at the pool bar and enjoy them on our large balcony as we watched the boats go buy. Another bonus at Misiones, the private beach. No vendors here. Misiones is not a 5 star resort but for the money it was a nice, relaxing place to spend a week.

We had a great stay at Misiones. This isn't a five star resort but if you don't expect pampering then you won't be disappointed. We had a two bedroom condo with a great view. The room was clean and the maid service was superb. The Misiones doesn't have a spa, shopping, or planned activities like other timeshares but the staff was very helpful. Both pools were great with the exception of the hot tub only being turned on half of the time. The swim up bar was one of the best features. The bartenders were friendly and the tacos were the best we found in Cabo. Skip the poor restaurant on property and the overpriced "Italian" Giorgio on the point. We rented a car and would not have wanted to have been with out it. The Misiones was very quiet and relaxing. The best view in Cabo. The condos were not very kid proof as the rails on the balcony were far apart and the tap water got scorching hot. We had plenty of hot water though! We would stay at this resort again.

Missiones Del Cabo is a full ownership/timeshare resort with full ownership condominiums available for rent to vacationers. It is located approximately 4.5 kilometers from Cabo San Lucas on the Corridor. We traded in our timeshare after four years there due to the poor response from management concerning simple improvements to our timeshare building and seeing a half built, three year old structure in early decay! If the hard beds don't kill you, the one way $15 taxi rides to town will! Yes, the grounds are nice and improving. There is a new restaurant on the property, while pricey, that serves tasty meals. The two beaches are nice and you can't beat the view. If you should decide to stay there, DO NOT rent/buy in to Building #7 and always preview your room, testing beds, hot water, etc. before you unpack your bags (Watch out for poor pull out couches). You might also request rooms on the third floor or higher for the best views and to avoid the stench of resort "grey" water which is used to water the grounds at night. That can ruin a vacation fast!

Well, beautiful resort. However needs lot's of tender loving care! No shuttle for free, bus is $13.00 per person, taxi $75.00 for up to 3 people. Agree to take in a time-share tour and they will pay for your taxi to and from Mesiones, plus give you free dinners and 1/2 price on attractions. You can't go wrong with this! Resort is a little over 3/4 a mile down a hill, so remember one who wishes to catch a bus must also walk up a pretty good incline to reach the bus stop. The view was breath taking for our room. We were in building 7 on the 3rd floor. Our first morning there we had no hot water. The hot tub did not work and was cold. The pool was clean but very cold. The elevator did not work for 2 days. Feel sorry for anyone that was on the 6, 7 or 8th floor what a hike that would have been. The maid that we had was very polite but spoke very little English. There is a small store located next to registration desk, it closes early on Saturday and Sunday. My husband wanted a Pepsi he went to the desk they had him go to the cabana. There he paid $5.00 US for 1 can of Pepsi! The furniture needed to be cleaned or reupholstered. We stayed there for an entire week. There is a Costco about 2 miles from there where you can go stock up so the cost is not so high. You would not need to eat out as much.

Just go with the mind set that no matter what you will have fun!

We rented 2 large units (2 bdms each) for 5 adults and 2 kids. The unit for my sister and her kids was perfect since it had a view of the best of the two pools (with kiddie pool and swim-up bar and soft tacos from the grill)). The unit the other adults stayed in had a great view of the sunset and the famous arch. But it was right above the restaurant/bar. After a noisy day and night, I asked the front desk if we could change units, and they quickly and effortlessly helped us into 2 one bedroom units right above the ocean. It was wonderful! The rooms are a little worn out, but whenever anything bugged us, we just shrugged, That's Mexico!" The pools are very nice, the beaches are good depending on conditions, and the hike thru the desert to town was great! Not the Hotel Cabo San Lucas, but who can afford that? No major problems once the room change was made. Hike (10-15 mts.) or taxi up to the highway and eat at the "Old Door" restaurant! Wow! Ask every guest you run into for advice to save time. Many have timeshares and have been going to Cabo for years. Tip the maids everyday and they might do your dishes (the rooms have kitchens). The worst part of the trip was Alaska Airlines...stuck in the airport trying to get home for 5 hours (bad weather in Washington or Alaska). Make sure your kids have their own proper documentation. We let 5 million undocumented Mexicans in the U.S. each year but NO-ONE gets into Mex. w/out proper docs! Must say EVERY Mexican we met was very nice and spoke English, or sign language (the maids). I do not recommend flying during a terror alert.
