In February 2003, we had a delightful week (my wife, son and I) at the El Zalate resort near San Jose Del Cabo. Planning to go back this xmas, we booked into La Jolla through Mexican Villa Rentals, specifically through Harriett Webb. Make a long story short, la jolla folded and Harriett Webb told us we were being "upgraded" to Misiones del Cabo. A week before we were to leave, my wife stumbled on trip advisors' site, which contained scathing reviews of misiones. Very concerned, we forwarded same to Harriett at Mexico Villa Rentals, who assured us they were all false and we would have a wonderful time at this very expensive resort. Well, a broken toilet, broken toilet door, no hot water. no towels and - get ready - seeping sewage every night in the bathroom later, not to mention a 10 minute walk to the beach and massive stony-faced indifferenceb y management, we disagree with Mexico Villa rentals and Harriett Webb about Misiones Del Cabo. There are many delightful and well-run resorts in Los Cabos - but Misiones is a poorly run and overpriced scam and Mexico Villa Rentals misrepresented it to us...

My wife and I purchased a full timeshare in Building 7 a few years ago.
We enjoy a two bedroom condo overlooking the Sea of Cortez and the Arches. We have always found the staff to be responsive and polite. We got smart after our first trip and started renting a small car for our stay. The place is quiet and peaceful, at least we found it to be that way. We go there to get away from city life and to relax. This is the place to do it. If you are expecting dancing, music, or other entertainment, forget it. The resturant is outstanding with a fantastic view. We think the views from Misiones are the best in Cabo besides Pedragal of course. The sunsets from the resturant is nothing but outstanding. Bring your camera. Maybe we are a bit partial to Misiones, being condo owners, but after looking at others, we settled on Misiones (Building #7). As with anyplace in another country, do not set your expectations too high or you will be disappointed. Prices in Cabo are about the same as Seattle or most any major US city. Do not go to Cabo if you want a cheap vacation. Go to Tijuana instead (smile).

I have bought a time share at misiones,I to have had bad experiences with the management or there lack of.I paid my timeshare 2 years ago ,I still havn't recieved my paperwork to this day.The resort itself is nice, but lack of a qaulitly restaurant and broken down shuttles are a little unnerving.I love cabo and go as much as I can,but until they figure out how to bill my maintaince fee's properly I might be more excited to go.It's definaltley worth getting a rent a car taxis are outragious!If your american and dont speak spanish they wiil get over on you!

My friend and I stayed here in Novemeber 2003. We felt like the entire experience was a disaster. We bought a time-share week from a friend and wish we would have saved our money. So many things they advertise were not true: There is NO shuttle service to Cabo San Lucas (we had to rent a car to get back and forth. They advertised satellite TV with HBO and ESPN--there were 7 channels (only one in English)--No HBO or ESPN.
We could not even get a newscast to find out what was going on back in the US. Their phones are inaudible due to static so it was very difficult to make any local (or long distance) calls. There was no safe deposit box for our valuables as advertised. The beds were the hardest we've ever encountered and when we asked if there were any that were softer they replaced it with the same type of mattress AND we got major attitude from the staff. The furniture and chairs are worn-out and didn't look like they had been cleaned in a long time. The maid didn't sweep our floor until the 3rd day we were there--we don't know if it was ever mopped. When we finally complained to the management their response was, "What do you want me to do about it?" They acknowledged the problems and false advertising but did nothing to fix them. It was very frustrating. The list goes on but my point is: This place was nothing like what we saw on the websites. The view IS beautiful but you can see that from Giorgio's Ristorante for a lot less money. We left after the third day of our week and moved to a cheaper hotel in Cabo San Lucas and received much better service with better accomodations.
