We rented 2 large units (2 bdms each) for 5 adults and 2 kids. The unit for my sister and her kids was perfect since it had a view of the best of the two pools (with kiddie pool and swim-up bar and soft tacos from the grill)). The unit the other adults stayed in had a great view of the sunset and the famous arch. But it was right above the restaurant/bar. After a noisy day and night, I asked the front desk if we could change units, and they quickly and effortlessly helped us into 2 one bedroom units right above the ocean. It was wonderful! The rooms are a little worn out, but whenever anything bugged us, we just shrugged, That's Mexico!" The pools are very nice, the beaches are good depending on conditions, and the hike thru the desert to town was great! Not the Hotel Cabo San Lucas, but who can afford that? No major problems once the room change was made. Hike (10-15 mts.) or taxi up to the highway and eat at the "Old Door" restaurant! Wow! Ask every guest you run into for advice to save time. Many have timeshares and have been going to Cabo for years. Tip the maids everyday and they might do your dishes (the rooms have kitchens). The worst part of the trip was Alaska Airlines...stuck in the airport trying to get home for 5 hours (bad weather in Washington or Alaska). Make sure your kids have their own proper documentation. We let 5 million undocumented Mexicans in the U.S. each year but NO-ONE gets into Mex. w/out proper docs! Must say EVERY Mexican we met was very nice and spoke English, or sign language (the maids). I do not recommend flying during a terror alert.
