Villa La Paloma has as a great difference to other hotels in Los Cabos: the size. Only 32 units and the units are around 450 sq ft, a real one bedroom condo, a nice change, a true living and dining room, a bedroom in privacy and a real kitchen with all kind of appliances.

It includes a free wireless internet conection. I really need this service, my office has to be in touch with me all the time. My wireless card in my laptop did not like their system, it took a lot of time to make it work, the front desk clerk tried its best, but it was not enough, then the owner came, he had the courtesy to sit with me and solve the issue, finally after some 10 min, my laptop worked impecable. I asked him how much did I owe him for his work, he smiled and said: " just remember us on your next trip".

It ha a nice colvert shape pool, tiled in blue, perfect looking water, full of kids. The restaurant and bar are opened only for the morning continental breakfast. To some degree it was disapointing.

There is an aviary with a tree inside the cage, lots of local birds singing early in the morning, I just loved it, my wife not really, she is from New York, I am from Utah, I felt at home.

There are no organized activities, sad, lots of men in business trips, I saw more laptops in Villa La Paloma than in all of Mexico.

I met Goyita, at the front desk, she is a really something, she would walk an extra mile for you if you need her, we got a lot of great deals from her but listen carefully, do not break the internal regulations, be loud, play smart, and pretend since you are a tourist you have the right to do it, because she will get you!!!.

Anyway, a nice charming place walking distance to downtown Cabo adn also to the beach by Cascadas. Ready to come back,

Villa la paloma is just as the name suggests,"dove villa".
The habitation was quite modern with a microwave in the efficient kitchen.
The furniture was rattan and the bedroom was well equipped with huge armoires. While spartan in furnishings, the dining area had many at home conveniences.Despite that we ate out at local restaurants, like Dominos(the spicy wings) were fantastico,McDonalds on the avenue Cardednas gave free jalapeno peppers besides the regular condiments and Cannery row witha stranded ship model in front has nice cold beverages and cheese chips that we took back to our condo for a late nite snack.
The condo's patio pool was shaped in a four leaf clover and so it made it difficult to know which way was the starting point for a swim. What you do is swim in a circular fashion,we decided after a few attempts.
The patio is concrete and sparse and devoid of any homey deco-designs,except for a few chairs, tables and umbrella. The sun is so hot in Baja that umbrellas do little to offset the heat,The main office is located in an alfresco site and feels rather bohemian. And its good to know the language since most of the staff is not really bi-lingual yet.
The condo is at the opposite end of the plaza and marina in town, tho close to eateries. And the new mall is rather grand for that area of the country, while quite expensive. The fun continues into the night with many truly jumping places,Cabo Wabo,Gigglin marlin,Pazazos,Squid roe, etc. The best attraction is to take a boat tour to the Arco and secuded beaches at the other end of the town. The water teems with fish and sea mamals and beauty abounds everywhere.During the day it is quite hot and cloud coverage is minimal. The rock formations at the beaches compound the heat as well making the day doubly warm.
In sum,Villa la paloma is a nice respite away from city life at the bottom of a stark rock bare penninsula.Ole!

We moved to this hotel after staying 3 nights in the Bungalows (which was awesome!!)...and were sorely disappointed.
We had called ahead to see what time we could check in, they said regular check-in was at 4 but we could check in at 3. got there at 3, and were told our rooms weren't ready...and ended up waiting until 4, when the first of 2 rooms was ready, and had to wait till 5:30 for the other one.

staff was very unfriendly. no poolside bar. rooms were ok, but i think there were fleas. you get charged to make any phone calls (including local), would not cash travellers cheques, coffee is not available until after 9am...

would recommend not staying here if you have other options.

If you like to be pampered a little, don't stay here. Service was not the focus of this 38 room villa. This place was inexpensive and we got what we paid for. The fleas were an added touch we could have done w/o. Now we are unpacking and hoping they didn't make the plane back to the states.

The water was turned off not once, but twice while I was in the shower. One lady ran to the front desk in a towel with shampoo in her hair. She was pretty upset. We had no hot water the first night.

They watered plants right outside the window at 11:30 pm. Loud.

I didn't have a problem with the towel situation as another person had.

This place is too far away from everything. I never quite understood the market accross the lot. It was closed at 6 pm and open at 10 pm one night. Open at 9:30 am, then closed at noon. Needless to say, I never made it to the market when it was open. The closest open market (super 7) is five blocks away, and when I say market I mean pop, chips, snacks. If you've been to Mexico, you know the type of place, not a super market. That is 15 blocks away. Walking at night could be a bit scary. Not well lit, you walk past empty lots/empty buildings.

The front desk has a few sodas and beer to sell you, but if you are looking to stock up, forget it. If you've been told the place has a rest/bar, wrong! The rest/bar does exist, it just is never open. They do provide a breakfast of toast, cereal, and juice from 8:30 to 10:00. Just not very appealing. Couldn't buy a beer and sit by the pool.

Overall, pay a little more for a place closer to town. What extra you pay, you'll save on cab fares and time walking to and from places.

Villa La Paloma is just what was expected, small, personal, family oriented, the suites are misleading, they are really a nice one bedroom apartment, with true kitchens, living/dining room. The pool in unique in shape and colors, gardens are simple but well kept. There is a small aviary, a little disturbing to hear all the birds early in the morning, but you get used to it. Front desk is kind, helpfull but firm in following their regulations. After midnight the main entrance is locked but the night guard is right there to open it for you, strange, seems that they really are concerned about who walks in at night, If you plan to get your wild nightlife catch and bring it here, wrong move, you won't get through the lobby.
Definitely I wil return to Cabo and stay there, close enough to the wild nightlife but far enough to keep it out.
