We live in La Paz, MX, but travel to Cabo on business. We always stay at the Siesta Suites. Why? The staff is very friendly and helpful. The price is right. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, with that authentic, funky Mexican feeling. (The management is currently redecorating rooms and we have fun keeping track of the changes). All rooms have fridges and some have kitchenettes. The banquette couches can serve as another bed. You can walk easily to most Cabo attractions. Shops, restaurants and a small grocery store are nearby. There is a small cooling pool and a delightful courtyard, all tile, enclosing walls and the shade of palm trees. The on-site Italian restaurant/bar has superb food at reasonable prices. There is a furnished terrace on the third floor with a great view. There are computers and Internet access available in the lobby area. There is only one entryway and there are staff on all-night, so the hotel feels safe.
There are some downsides. Parking is available but limited. There is no elevator, so getting to the third and fourth floors can be a challenge. Noise from the disco's and the restaurant/bar can be annoying (but, hey, this is Mexico and Cabo). You are not near any of the beaches.
The restaurant/bar is very popular with the local gringos. As everyone knows, go where the locals go. Many of the folks we meet in the lobby are repeat customers. And so are we.
