Just got back from our Honeymoon. We found that the location was perfect. The staff was great and the room was clean. We had no interest in staying at an overpriced place on the beach. The Marina and Beaches are easily within walking distance and the local flavor was awesome. The choices for Food and Beverages - no matter what your price range were within 5 minutes of walking. The staff was great, although AJ's Hideaway was closed (I think the Chef quit without notice). For a great lunch or dinner simply take a right and go to the Crazy Lobster. It's only a block away and you get a great grilled Lobster tail for $9.95 U.S. - also try the stuffed Pepper - AWESOME!!! For dinner go to LaPadilla - which is just down from the Crazy Lobster - the new owners are from Colorado - and were great. The food was amazing and cheap. Try the ribs - all you can eat for $15.00 U.S. - they are grilled right at the entrance of the place and were amazing. For desert get the Mexican Coffee - great show and even better desert coffee. For Breakfast for to the Marina - you can get a Mexican Breakfast Burrito that is great and filling for $3.00 U.S. STAY AWAY from Mommas (right around the corner from the Siesta Suites - ate breakfast their and was immediately sick for the next day (still fighting it off). We were wondering when we walked in - it didn't seem like the cleanest of places - but it was packed - so we thought it would be safe - we were wrong.
There is a small vendor in front of the Marina where you can rent a Moped for $40 for 4 hours. What a blast. You can get everywhere you want to go and it's fun to get away from the "Timeshare" salespeople. They are everywhere and quite annoying. Cabo Wabo was a blast and for those who really want to party - the Giggling Marlin is the place. Be careful though - they hand out Tequilla and Kamakazee shots like they are water and we saw a few people get sick in the place.
For a Sunset cruise we went with the Princess II - it was awesome - $80 for 2 hours - beverages and a snack. Had a great time without all of the roudiness.
If you are looking to spend your money on other things other than a room (that you won't spend much time in anyway) the Siesta Suites are for you. Can't recommend any higher.

What a bargain! Comfortable, clean, well-maintainted rooms. Staff was incredible, especially Juan, the hotel/front desk Manager. Charming and quiet little oasis to retire too after a day of shopping and sunning and after an evening of fun.

Definately will stay at the Siesta Suites again!

I had an incredible stay at siesta suites. Great staff, great location, and the other guests at this hotel were from all over the world and we loved meeting them all. I have already booked another stay in march 2006! I'll never stay anywhere else in Cabo again.

We stayed at the Siesta Suites from Sept. 20 thru the 27th and were pleasantly surprised. We originally booked a room with 2 queen beds, since all the other rooms only had doubles. I can't remember the last time I slept in a double bed, much less shared it with anybody!

We really were not happy with the room, I can't put my finger on it, but it just didn't seem right, so we went downstairs and asked Juan, the manager, if he had another room we could move too. Juan graciously handed us the key to the penhouse on the 5th floor, the roof of the building, and told us to check it out. If we liked it, we could have it for the first 4 nights we were there, but then we would have to move because it was rented out for the remainder of our stay.

What a surprize it was! After trudging up a private spiral staircase, we ended up on a huge deck that spans the entire roof of the building. On the deck are sun loungers, deck chairs, and a table set with placemats and really cute barrel chairs upholstered in leather. The table and chairs are under a sunshade, as well as a hammock for swinging in the breeze. The deck area is aprox. 1500 feet with a 360 degree of the city and surrounding landscape.

We unlocked the room and immediately knew we wanted to stay there. The casita was around 500 sf and very cute and homey. There is a living room that adjoins a full kitchen with eating bar, all with mexican style decor. There is a larger TV than in the standard rooms in the living room. Through the doorway is a bedroom with a writing desk and corner hutch, also a wardrobe with doors for hanging your clothes. The bathroom was nice with art on the walls and a walkin shower for 2 all washed in a dusky orange pink color.

Remember this is Mexico and this is not a resort. There were problems with the water pressure, it is virtually non-existant, but we managed to shower just fine . The maintenance could have been better and the furniture sharper and more modern. It was wonderful though, like a shabby beach house that you love and feel comfortably at home in. The bed is still just a double, but it adds to the homey feel and allows for much cuddling. The airconditioning is ice cold and cools the entire casita, and all the windows open to allow for breezes to come through in the early morning.

We hated to move when our 4 nights were up, but we ended up in a suite on the 3rd floor that served us just fine for the remainder of our vacation. We found 2 cute little geckos that live in suite 303, we named them Raoul and Lorenzo. You can't freak out about stuff like this, they stay in their own hiding spot most of the time and we saw them once in awhile on the ceiling over the shower. I think they look for the moisture. They didn't bother us and we didn't bother them, they were just cute.

We had a kitchenette in the suite and a new airconditioner that keeps the living and kitchen area very cool, but doesn't quite reach into the bedroom. There are ceiling fans in both the living area and in the bedroom, so it still stays comfortable if the air conditioning is off. Just remember to keep your curtains closed when you leave for the day.

The beds, as in many places in Cabo, were foam slabs on a cement platform. I couldn't get used to that on a long term basis, but they were livable for the time we were there. The bed was still just a double, but by that time we were used to it and it didn't seem like such a squeeze.

Juan, the manager, was so pleasant and accomodating, he was always happy to talk to us and give us tips on where to eat and what to do. He assisted us with a fishing trip and was generally just a very nice person who truly wanted our stay to be comfortable. He introduced us to Momuche, the resident cat, whom we found most every morning sunning herself in various places in the complex. She is very friendly, just like everyone else there.

AJs Hideaway was nice as well, very quaint and lovely. It was great to pick up an ice cold Pacifico and cool out in the small pool in the couryard. We did not eat there, but heard from several of the other guest that the food was great and the prices were really cheap.

If I could stay in the penthouse again, Siesta Suites would be my first and only choice for lodging in Cabo San Lucas. Check it out, the price is right and the location is perfect.
