“Back Again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Spent last week in Cabo stayed at the Siesta Suites again. Didn't have the penthouse suite again but stayed on the third floor. Still a wonderful little place. Clean and so close to everything, see you again next year!!!

“A Charming, Affordable Hotel In the Center of Everything!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

I stayed here at the start of a recent trip to Cabo. I own a timeshare week that starts on a Monday, so I always come down a couple of days early to get more time in paradise. For this year's trip, I tried the Siesta Suites and loved, loved, loved it.

First, you can't beat the location. It is smack dab in the middle of all the nightlife, shopping and restaurants of Cabo San Lucas. I had a car for the week, but I left it parked for the two days I was at the Siesta Suites and walked everywhere.

The hotel has a very boutique-style vibe to it. The entire property is decorated with rich, vibrant colors. I thought the rooms were very ample for the price of $69 per night. You get a bedroom that is separate from the outer room with a sitting area and kitchenette.

The bathroom is basic and clean. If I had one minor quibble, it's that each room has its own small hot water heater and it only gives you about 10 minutes of hot water for a shower. If you were with a group this could be a problem. But for the price point, small inconveniences like that can be tolerated.

One other thing to note is that the hotel no longer takes credit cards. You either mail a check to the owner of the property who lives in San Diego, or you bring cash for when you check in. They said that the increased transaction fees were no longer worth it.

If you aren't looking for a mega resort with a killer pool area, then Siesta Suites is the perfect place to stay in Cabo. You're a few blocks from the marina and can easily catch a water taxi to Medano Beach for about $5. Que Bueno!

“Affordable Hotel with Great Location a Lots of Charm!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

My wife and I were on a cruise, and there was an overnight stay in Cabo. We thought that it would be nice to stay off the ship for a night, but we didn't want a pampered tourist hotel type of experience. We were looking for something with more character, with the authentic feel of being in Mexico. Siesta Suites did not disappoint! The room was clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere was great! The hotel is in great location, a very easy walk from the marina, even for my wife, who has a fused left ankle. When we got there, we relaxed with our feet in the soaking pool in the middle of the couryard and enjoyed a margarita from Salvatore's, which is the excellent Italian restraurant that shares the couryard with Siesta Suites. If you like margaritas, please be sure to inform the front desk at the hotel when you check in. Apparently, the hotel has an agreement with the restaurant that allows guests one free drink, but not every restaurant employee knows this. We wound up paying for our "welcome" drink, but the hotel management made sure that we got a free drink later on that night. What a friendly, welcoming staff! I would recommend that you bring any soaps, shampoos, or other amenities that you would normally use. This is not an American hotel, and they do things a little diffently in Mexico. Personal care items do not come complimentary with your hotel stay. Based on the excellent price that we paid for our room, It was still an excellent value! The beautifully decorated courtyard was the perfect place to relax after a day of shopping, bar hopping, and sightseeing. Who knows, you might even make a friend, like we did with one of our neighbors and the resident cat, Big Mama. There is a lot of activity with the excellent restaurant, which seems to get an incredible amount of tourist business. The taxis just keps showing up, presumably with people who were staying at much more posh, expensive hotels. I couldn't help thinking that they were missing out on something special. There was no place that we'd rather be. We ate at Salvatore's, and I can see why it's so popular. The food is delicious, and the portions are huge! Then, at 10:00, something magical happens. Everyone leaves, the restaurant shuts down, and the whole place becomes quiet, almost serene. A good night's sleep is easy to be had. Would I recommend Siesta Suites? Absolutely!

Room Tip: We stayed on the bottom floor, and it was great. I cannot comment on the other rooms, but I'm t...

“Don't understand the former ratings, sorry!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

We stayed at this hotel for a week in the penthouse, based on the reviews we had read on this site. While the facility is economical, the penthouse was swarming with ants. You could not possibly kill them all! Also, the drinking water ran out mid-week and we were told that replacement had to wait for delivery from their supplier. We never did get more drinking water, other than what we bought ourselves. Saturday night was noisy, too, as there are several churchs nearby and one of them holds its service with a microphone and if you speak Spanish, you don't need to go to the service, it comes to you! The one good thing I will say is that it is centrally located and an easy walk to all sorts of great restaurants - all nationalities as well as locals. The staff did tell us we could use the pool at the Wyndham (half way through our stay) and we did that, although I believe we were supposed to buy some sort of day pass; we didn't and used their pool for 3 days without (lovely!!). Not a terrible place, but definitely not up to the reviews we had read.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Siesta suites has a great location close to the marina. Its quiet after the restaurant closes. The beds are comfortable. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable. There isn't an elevator.
