My husband and I recently returned from our vacation in the Cabo San Lucas area and we had a fabulous time! The beginning of our trip was spent in San Jose at the Royal Solaris, which we do not recommend! We also wanted to spend a couple of days in the heart of Cabo, so we took a cab over and stayed at the Siesta Suites Hotel. An absolutely adorable little place and extremely friendly staff. We arrived a bit early for check-in, but they quickly got us in our room. The room is very basic and what you would expect for the price, but our plan was only to sleep and shower at the hotel. After checking-in and dropping off our luggage, we hit the streets. The Siesta Suites is centrally located and excellent for walking to the marina and mall. On your way you can check out all the local shops and sight see! At the marina we were able to catch a water taxi over to the beach area and continue with enjoying our day. We later went back to the Siesta Suites and got ready for dinner and the front desk called us a cab to our destination. The next day it was time to check out of the hotel, but our visit to Cabo wasn't complete. The front desk politely held our bags for us so we could again get out and enjoy our day. Upon return to the hotel, we planned on catching a cab back to our "resort" in San Jose, but sat down for a drink in the family owned hotel bar/restaurant where we were greeted by the extremely friendly staff. Needless to say, our "one drink before leaving" turned into many hours, many cocktails, a fabulous dinner and continued friendly interaction with the staff and other patrons. If your plan includes sight seeing and adventure without everything that comes with resorts, then the Siesta Suites Hotel is exactly what you need! And, don't forget to have dinner, or at least a margarita at Salvatories Restaurant on site at the hotel!

I stayed here in November for three days on a business / pleasure trip to Cabo. Overall I was satisfied, but somehow I was expecting something better than I found.

The suite was clean and comfortable, and I slept well. The bathroom was fine, and the kitchenette was nice, although apart from the fridge I did not use it.

I found the staff to be indifferent, not especially friendly or unfriendly.

The on site restaurant was a bit annoying, as it generated traffic and noise in the courtyard; I did not eat there so I cannot rate the food.

Location was good in my opinion, in the middle of downtown.

Would I stay there again? Maybe.

Not apt for family. No elevators makes it difficult to haul suitcases up four floors. Generally, I would not recommend this hotel given that other hotels offer more although more expensive. The pool was centrally located to the rooms and the noise was instrumental in interfering with sleep and rest. The hotel is different physically than pictured on the internet. I was disappointed with the hotel setup and service. The room reek of smoke. The old saying applies quite fittingly to this hotel -- you get what you pay for.

We stayed at Siesta Suites for a couple of nights before transferring to our resort. The location is great, right in the middle of town, close walk to restaurants, Marina, etc. You certainly get a better feel of the town than when you go to a resort. I really liked the feel of walking into the courtyard, that was like a little oasis off of the dusty street. The staff was very friendly. For us, the downside was the room itself. Our air conditioner leaked water in the night and we woke up to water all over the floor. My husband woke up in the night and nearly slipped, due to water covering the tile floor. We told the hotel staff, but nothing was done about it. So, we put a water bottle under the leak and piled towels around it, to keep it under control. It was very hot, and turning off the AC was not an option. Also, the fridge was moldy and stinky, and we didn't even want to put water bottles in it, let alone food.
Other than that, the room was fairly clean. The linens on the bed were especially nice.
I probably wouldn't stay here again. But, would have to say that it is worth what we paid, which was about $75 per night. So, if you're on a budget, go for it, and hope you get one of the rooms that are in a little better shape.

After reading several reviews in TripAdvisor, my fiance and I were thrilled to check into Siesta Suites. It was a great price and sounded like a great property. However, we found the staff to be less than helpful to say the least. Our baggage was lost and the phone in our room did not work, so we were unable to call the airport. We went downstairs to use the phone down there and they tried to charge us to use and accused us of lying about our upstairs phone not working. The gentlemen helping us also tried to overcharge until the manager called him out on it. We were also told by the airline that our luggage had been brought by our hotel, only to find that no one was at the front desk (even though we were told they would be) for them to drop it off, so they took it back to the airport. They finally re-delivered the bags.

It is hot in Cabo, no doubt. The AC was NOT turned on when we entered our room and it was steaming hot. Whenever we left during the day, they turned our AC off. Everytime we returend from the LONG walk to the beach, hot and sweaty, the AC was off and we were miserable.

The pool is located in the middle of the restaurant (great food by the way) and really isn't even suitable for a dip, unless you want everyone staring at you. It is a long walk to the beach from the hotel, unless you choose to take a water taxi, which can be up to $10 each. You have to walk through a neighborhood I wouldn't feel comfortable walking through myself, being a young woman.

The maid also threw away a pair of my Teva Flip-flops. After a bit or arguing, I was reimbursed for the shoes.

We were looking for a nice, relaxing week to spend our vacation and celebrate our engagment. However, this place was cheap, but you get what you pay for. I didn't expect a 5 star place, but I at least expected polite service and consideration. I would not stay here again.
