My boyfriend and I stayed at ME Cabo for a week from July 19-26. His parents had a timeshare and we booked our stay based off of pictures. I read the reviews after we already booked and got a little nervous because there are so many bad ones. But we LOVED ME Cabo and did not have any problems at all. We are in our late 20's and enjoyed drinks at the swim up bar and pool a few of the days of our stay. There was music, which everyone refers to as "techno." That is incorrect. They actually play some songs that we have here in the U.S. and add a little speed to it. One morning there was actually Coldplay playing. The music is not loud like everyone says. We were able to talk normally each day at the pool and never had a problem at night. I never heard the "techno" music coming from Passion when I was trying to sleep. I'd also like to say how comfortable and big the beds were. We were in the timeshare section which is the whole right side of the hotel. We were allowed to bring our own food and drinks into our room and normal guests were not, which had some people complaining. On the weekend, they had entertainment such as dancers in the pool and bongo bands playing from the roof top! It was really neat!
We thought the staff was GREAT! They gave excellent service all the time and were very friendly. Everytime you pass part of the staff they always greet you with a smile and a hello (Ola). The rooms were very modern and very very clean. One day they did turn the water off due to some kind of issue, but they slipped us a paper under the door the night before with the times that the water could not be used. We had no problem getting our showers in the morning since the water was off from 2-7. We tried to get water around 7:20 and it was not on yet so we called the front desk and they said it would be 20 more minutes and it was exactly. The front desk called to let us know that our water was on and they came and slipped us an apology note under our door the next day. We did not charge anything to our room or touch the mini bar and we had no problems checking out, no random charges like others have talked about. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and had nothing to complain about!

Tips: Eat lunch at the Mango Deck which is a few doors over from the hotel, along the beach. The food is great and very reasonable priced. Also try the Sandbar, cheap too. All the locals recommend Muzelton for seafood - we did not like the food there at all. We found a small restaurant called Pepe's across the street from the mall which had great Mexican dishes and was very cheap! CaboWabo is fun for night life, but food is not so great. Taco Loco which sits right at the bottom entrance of CaboWabo has very good food and is reasonably priced. The Giggling Marlin is great for entertainment and food. Also there is El Squid Roe for drinking but it is really loud there.
You must do some snorkeling - the marine life in Cabo is great. If you don't want to do a whole day cruise, take a glass bottom boat to Lover's Beach and rent snorkeling gear there. We also went horse back riding on the beach, zipling, and on the Jungle Cruise. Just a warning - when you do these excursions they take up almost your whole day - they want you to feel like you get what you paid for but we wished they wouldn't have been so long since it was really hot out all the time. The Jungle Cruise is a booze cruise that only costs $35 and is so much fun! There is sight seeing and dancing the whole time. The horseback riding was along the Pacific and had beautiful views, but I would recommmend to do the shortest tour possible (1hour) because it is hot and you get pretty sore. The zipling was really neat. You go from 40-70 m.p.h. across 8 seperate ziplines, some over 2500 feet long, over a canyon and you see the awesome desert scenery. But, it is very hot out and you must walk a good distance between the lines so its tiring too. I would recommend to do an early morning trip if possible.

We had the best vacation ever in Cabo! It is so beautiful and you must see it!

This hotel is beautiful and very modern. The location and views of the Arch and Lands End are quite extrodinary. However, we stayed over the fourth of July weekend and the Hotel was full of 20 somethings yelling from room balconies, playing loud music, and just being overall rude. We paid way too much money to have to deal with that.

I would not say this is a great place to stay if you are looking for a quite, relaxing time. The web-site for this hotel is very decieving in that it promotes an upscale resort when really it is more like spring break. I was expecting much much more from this hotel.

Although clean and beautiful, I would stay somewhere else next time.

First of all know your reviewer:

33 y/o male, not married, from San Francisco, straight.

I stayed at ME in early June 2008 thurs-sun for a buddy of mines bachelor party. We were all in our mid 20's to mid 30's. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The pool scene by day is off the hook. Guests are very friendly and you can't help but to meet everybody. It became difficult for us to even want to venture anywhere else because we were having so much fun right there at the pool. By 15:00 people were well boozed up, all smiles while guys from the hotel poured champagne into people's mouths and a Mayan-style dance/drum performance circled the pool. Good times!

It finally gets quiet around 18:00 when people start filtering out to shower and get dinner. By about 21:00 the in house club starts going off and guess what? You already know everyone there and everybody looks twice as good as they looked at the pool. We were routinely up till 04:00 dancing and partying. The club is spacious and modern with a outdoor gas firepit which was a nice touch.

Another plus: the breakfast buffet. Around $20 US for a Ritz Carlton quality breakfast buffet and the caviot: all you can drink, make your own bloody mary and mimosa bar. Just what the doctor ordered!

While we were there the clientel was on average 25-40, well heeled and there to party and cut loose. No white trash, no college bozos.

This hotel is PERFECT for bachelor/bachelorette parties or guys/girls weekends or for couples who like to party when they go on vacation.

This hotel would be a DISASTER for a family with kids who are looking for quality time in floaties at the pool. This is an adult place and kids are a nuisance here frankly.

When you check in ask the guy/gal for a good room and ask them what they would like for a tip. This is a standard procedure in Mexico and it goes a long way. Outside the lower 48 money talks.

Are you planning a bang up weekend in Cabo? Look no further. Book it.

I heard many reviews and this hotel is great! We got a bottle of water right when we walked up! We did have to wait for our room but that was fine b/c we headed downtown and it was only an 8 minute walk. Downtown there is shopping and many places to eat! Much cheaper to walk downtown then to eat at the hotel. Our favorite place to eat was right on the beach. They have 2 for 1 drink specials all day and the food is good too. I forget the name but it is right next to the hotel once you walk on the beach. We thought that hotel was great and our room was amazing! They took care of us and my husband brother even set up a special dinner for us on the beach! Overall this is a great hotel and if you go from Monday to Friday the noise is not loud at all. Friday night was the only night where we could hear music when we were trying to sleep!

If you want a fun place and a place where you can walk downtown this is the place to stay!! ENJOY CABO!!

A friend suggested looking at Sol Melia properties whenever I go on vacation so when we planned a trip to Cabo, we chose ME Cabo.

My twin sister and I (age 30) stayed at ME Cabo from June 11 to 16th and had a FABULOUS time!! We arrived to a very warm welcome and glasses of champagne. We booked a deluxe ocean view room thru Sol Melia's website. They have the cheapest rates. We also took the prepayment special which was actually cheaper than garden view regular rate. Even though its a prepayment special, they dont charge you till you leave. I called several times after I booked the hotel to confirm our reservations when I didnt see a charge on my card. So theres a tip for you!

TRANSPORTATION TO HOTEL.
We booked transcabo service. Pretty good, no issues. We had to book one way because of the taxi and shuttle dispute going on. When leaving Cabo, the hotel booked a one way shuttle for $15 for each of us. We were told ME Cabo is the last stop on the shuttle route so you go straight to the airport- about 45 mins.

ROOMS
We had Rm 433! GORGEOUS room, very contemporary furnishing, extremely clean ( im a germophobe!), great Aveda products, great colors, nice flat screen, ipod connectivity, small deck, and an AMAZING view. Note as another reviewer said- virtually every room has a nice view- the property is kind of semi circular and faces the ocean . The room was ALWAYS cleaned on time no matter what time we left. We got fresh, soft and big towels everyday. Room phones have an 'Everything is Possible' button and they really strive to accomodate your requests. There is also a button that goes straight to the manager , we didnt have to use it.

POOL/NIKKI BEACH
VERY VERY active social scene. Music starts around 10am till 7p. They have entertainment on weekend days. Majority of clientele is from Cali. Small international population. Good mix of people. Music was pretty good. It was NOT techno but good house music. There were a couple really incredible DJs. Its not too loud where you cant talk, etc. We were able to lay out at the pool, relax, read, eat, etc. Lovely Cabanas around the pool. Drinks are actually cheaper if you sit at the Cabanas than at the outdoor bar.
Pool is lovely- not your regular blue pool. Brown brick with clear water. We were told it was recently renovated.

STAFF
Well above my expectations. I was expecting the worst based on the reviews but they were nothing but warm and helpful. Always smiling and would check on you constantly to see if you needed anything. Male staff was very flirty ;-) Once we decided to have dinner at the hotel but the outdoor restaurant was too windy, the staff went out of their way to setup a table for my sister and I inside the hotel right by the bar at the entrance of Passion NightClub.

PASSION NITE CLUB
They have a different theme every nite, different DJs, This was not peak season but it was a little slow but decent crowd, we still had a blast and hung out there 2 different nights. Prices are pretty similar to average clubs/lounges in the U.S. Goes on till 4am, if you have issues sleeping with noice , make sure you dont get a room near the club, its loud. The third floor sits above the club, so take 4th floor or higher
.
TIPS
Location is great.. walking distance to places like Bahia Cantina, the office, Mango deck, and to the marina. Its a $6 cab ride to where all the clubs are- The Zoo, Giggling Marlin, Squid Roe, etc. Nightlife is VERY young! Funny seeing 17 yr old boys trying to hit on me- 30 !!! The crowd at Passion was better- more mature and better dressed.

Note the 23% tax on the rooms is standard across all hotels- I checked. If you can help it, dont charge anything to the rooms, its starts getting confusing keeping track especially since they dont give you a bill when you are leaving- they say they will mail it.

You can bring bottled water into the hotel, just dont let them see you.

I did notice my charge on my credit card was about $128 higher and I called the hotel but they confirmed that what i signed for was what they charged. Im getting the bill resent to me. My credit card company is taking care of everything so im not too worried.

Like they always say at ME Cabo- Everything is Possible!! My craving for french fries at 4am in the morning was graciously satisfied by the staff even though the kitchen was just closed. I will def recommend to anyone and would stay there again in a heart beat!!
