Our room did not have bottled water in it. We had to go to a corner store to stock up on bottled water. There was not enough space to put our things away. The drain in our shower took an hour to drain. There was constant techno music by the pool all day long. You cannot relax. The music was so loud at night, I asked to switch rooms. The hotel said it was a "party" hotel and each room could hear the noise. I got to sleep at 3 in the morning and then was woken up at 6 from construction.

The one good thing was the food at the restaurant. Yummy.

It was the worst trip I have ever taken.

We enjoyed the pool - until the relentless, pounding rythym of the bland techno "music" began each early afternoon. (When did DJs become "performers"??) We retreated as soon as the DJ arrived each day, as the ever-increasing volum level made it difficult to carry on a conversation with the person right next to you and it drew hordes of young people from the beach.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings do not expect to sleep until 4:00AM. That's when the hotel bar shuts down - the bar that plays the same techno "music" from 10:00PM until 4:00AM. And they do mean 4:00AM and not a minute earlier. And it's loud. Loud enough to make the glasses in our room vibrate from the pounding sub-woofers in the bar area. When I wandered down to the front desk at 3:30AM I asked the young man working there if the manager was in. No, he said, he was home sleeping. I suggested that perhaps I should go to his house to sleep. He actually had the audacity to ask if the music was too loud. I didn't hear the question the first two times but we finally communicated with some good sign language.

But if you're up for non-stop partying, this is the place for you!

My girlfriend and I just got back from the ME Cabo hotel. Naturally, we were concerned after reading some of the negative reviews, but have to assume the writers either had a singular bad experience or were unhappy people who love to complain because they are personally overwhelmed by their own insecurities.

We had a great time at ME and would return in a minute. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful, the food was really quite good, the sushi very fresh and, contrary to what we read, the drinks were reasonably priced if not down right cheap compared to what we are used to paying. The hotel was super clean (I actually saw a guy scrubbing the outside of the trash bins that didn't look dirty to me!) and our room was perfectly made up each day by the housekeeping staff.

We had no trouble getting a bed at either the beach or pool and the music fostered a positive ambiance that permeated the hotel. The grounds are very well kept and the assorted beach and pool beds, etc., create a cool, contemporary feel. As the week progressed, the music got a bit louder, but it was never obtrusive, and there were places on the beach (to the left of the Nikki Beach Deck) and at the upper pool where you could retreat if it bothered you. We preferred to hang out in the thick of things. Our one regret is that we checked out on Thursday and missed Friday and Saturday at the Passion Club.

We only walked into town once and found it too commercial and Americanized, so didn't return, but it is very close by. We ate at a few of the places nearby on the beach. They were fine, too and cheaper, but we did most of our eating and drinking at the hotel.

It is true that some of the cruise ship patrons came to Nikki Beach during the day and occasionally were a bit loud and boorish, but it hardly ruined our vacation.

Another great thing about ME is that the vast majority of the guests were good looking, in shape and very friendly and there were only a few children present. Don't get me wrong, my girlfriend and I have kids, but we have stayed at far more expensive high end resorts (for example, the Palms in the Turks and Caicos) and were not crazy about the loud, out of control kids.

There is a vacation ownership desk in the lobby, but we didn't have to do much for them to leave us alone, and we did not have a problem with the beach peddlers. You have to admire how hard they work to make a buck (or is that a peso?). Just tell them you're not interested, but do it nicely ... after all, you are on vacation.

In short, we would highly recommend ME if you are young or determined to fight off middle age and want to experience a hotel environment that is quite atypical from an all-inclusive or more mundane resort.

Absolutely perfect? No, but neither are you.

This was a great hotel. The view from every room we were in was stunning no matter what time of the day or night it. The room itself was always clean and well maintained, and the staff was very helpful.

One bit of advice-don't go for the upgrades since all the rooms are pretty much the same. We stayed on "The Level" which is supposedly the ultra high end, top, most exclusive service and suites floor. While there was absolutely nothing at all wrong with it and we have ZERO complaints, its really not that different than the suites and service on the "regular" floors.

And then there's....NIKKI BEACH. What can ever be said about the staff, food, music, views, and utter magic of Nikki Beach? We loved it Miami, and really loved in Cabo. Everything and everyone at Nikki Beach is a wonder.

The best club in Cabo, Passion, is located at the Me Cabo. Its a really well done, high end feeling club that is also very inviting, casual, and fun to be in. Nestor and Roman, the DJ's there are brilliant and two of the absolute nicest guys. After our first day, we felt like Nestor was our good friend. Never asked him for anything he didn't leap to do.

The swim up bar in the pool is a nice way to relax, get out of the heat, and have a great cocktail all at once.

Do not miss Lover's Beach. We had the hotel pack us a picnic, and went to the jet ski rental stand the hotel recommemds (BIG WARNING:DO NOT GO TO ANY OTHER STAND. YOU WILL BE OVERCHARGED AND SUBJECT TO ALL KINDS OF SCAMS!)
paid about $25for two to get a really nice sized glass bottom boat which took us on a 45 min. tour of the sea, all around Lover's Beach, then dropped us off to enjoy the beach. We spent a wonderful day in the crystal clear warm water, had a romantic picnic, and enjoyed the beautiful beach. The same boat came and got us at the end of the day for no extra charge. Just don't take ANY valuables or you risk "losing" it there. Lupe, who works for the company that owns the stand is the absolute sweetest and most helpful human being in Cabo. If you find him, you have struck gold.

The WORST thing in Cabo is what we call the Taxi Mafia. They rob you blind at every turn and are militant at trying to stop you from using any other form of transportation. As soon as you get off the plane, you will be attacked by these monsters who will offer you a reduced rate, claiming they work for the hotels (which they don't) if you sign up a time share presentation. The only thing I can recommend is getting your hotel to arrange transportation from the airport. We have made friends in Cabo who meet us at the airport and take us back, but on our first trip, I preferred hitchhiking to dealing with the rude and overtly unethical behavior of these guys.

Try to stay up or wake up early enough at least once to see the fishing boats in the mist in the every early hours of the morning. I will never forget sitting on our balcony, watching them fade in the fog and then being treating to the most spectacular sunrise ever.

Lastly, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ON THE BEACH. EVER. It's all junk, the peddlers are dangerous, and don't be surprised if they offer you anything from cocaine to heroine. Be careful.

But the ME Cabo...worth every penny and a place you won't forget.
