This was a great hotel. The view from every room we were in was stunning no matter what time of the day or night it. The room itself was always clean and well maintained, and the staff was very helpful.

One bit of advice-don't go for the upgrades since all the rooms are pretty much the same. We stayed on "The Level" which is supposedly the ultra high end, top, most exclusive service and suites floor. While there was absolutely nothing at all wrong with it and we have ZERO complaints, its really not that different than the suites and service on the "regular" floors.

And then there's....NIKKI BEACH. What can ever be said about the staff, food, music, views, and utter magic of Nikki Beach? We loved it Miami, and really loved in Cabo. Everything and everyone at Nikki Beach is a wonder.

The best club in Cabo, Passion, is located at the Me Cabo. Its a really well done, high end feeling club that is also very inviting, casual, and fun to be in. Nestor and Roman, the DJ's there are brilliant and two of the absolute nicest guys. After our first day, we felt like Nestor was our good friend. Never asked him for anything he didn't leap to do.

The swim up bar in the pool is a nice way to relax, get out of the heat, and have a great cocktail all at once.

Do not miss Lover's Beach. We had the hotel pack us a picnic, and went to the jet ski rental stand the hotel recommemds (BIG WARNING:DO NOT GO TO ANY OTHER STAND. YOU WILL BE OVERCHARGED AND SUBJECT TO ALL KINDS OF SCAMS!)
paid about $25for two to get a really nice sized glass bottom boat which took us on a 45 min. tour of the sea, all around Lover's Beach, then dropped us off to enjoy the beach. We spent a wonderful day in the crystal clear warm water, had a romantic picnic, and enjoyed the beautiful beach. The same boat came and got us at the end of the day for no extra charge. Just don't take ANY valuables or you risk "losing" it there. Lupe, who works for the company that owns the stand is the absolute sweetest and most helpful human being in Cabo. If you find him, you have struck gold.

The WORST thing in Cabo is what we call the Taxi Mafia. They rob you blind at every turn and are militant at trying to stop you from using any other form of transportation. As soon as you get off the plane, you will be attacked by these monsters who will offer you a reduced rate, claiming they work for the hotels (which they don't) if you sign up a time share presentation. The only thing I can recommend is getting your hotel to arrange transportation from the airport. We have made friends in Cabo who meet us at the airport and take us back, but on our first trip, I preferred hitchhiking to dealing with the rude and overtly unethical behavior of these guys.

Try to stay up or wake up early enough at least once to see the fishing boats in the mist in the every early hours of the morning. I will never forget sitting on our balcony, watching them fade in the fog and then being treating to the most spectacular sunrise ever.

Lastly, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ON THE BEACH. EVER. It's all junk, the peddlers are dangerous, and don't be surprised if they offer you anything from cocaine to heroine. Be careful.

But the ME Cabo...worth every penny and a place you won't forget.

I just spent 3 days at the ME Cabo (my first visit to Cabo). My stay was great; its top quality hotel (4.5+ star hotel in my opinion) and a very cool/chic place to stay. I did read reviews complaining about loud music around the pool but that wasn't the case at all. I found the whole atmosphere to be fun but certainly not wild or annoying. I definitely would go back and recommend it to others (especially younger types who want a cool place to hang out).

Stayed at ME Cabo for a long weekend with a couple girlfriends in January, 2008. Definitely different from the Melia I remember from 10 years ago.

The good: The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The ocean view was beautiful from our room. Good people watching at the pool. We had no problem finding a cabana at the pool but January's also a relatively quiet month. Good food at the restaurant (try the ceviche or chicken panini). La Golondrina restaurant is excellent and only a couple blocks away. Taxis to local clubs are cheap.

The bad: Our room on the 4th floor was not quiet... constant music from the club, noise from the hallway, and sex from next door even with our doors closed and TV on. Pool a little cold especially when the wind picked up in the mid-afternoon. Mixed drinks were weak and expensive (similar to Vegas). Lots of construction noise and vendors by the beach.

After 3 trips to Cabo, I doubt I'll go again. I enjoyed it more as a college student. Great for 20-somethings. The pool scene reminded me of Vegas but I'd prefer Mandalay Bay to ME Cabo for my next trip.

  • Liked — Cabanas at the pool.
  • Disliked — Noise in the rooms and on the beach.

The ME Cabo is a wonderful resort! The rooms were very comfortable, the service was excellent and contrary to popular belief it is NOT noisy. I had a room overlooking the pool (203) and could not hear the music once the balcony door was closed. There was also construction going on next door, could not hear that either. For those who were complaining about the price - drinks and food were the same price as they are at home. If you want to be cheap, stay at an all-inclusive but be prepared to pay for travel into town. The location was great, within walking distance of all the clubs, marina and great restaurants. The best restaurant we found was about 1 block from the main entrance. It is called Casanova and was the best italian food I have ever had!! Not to mention the free wine :) Be sure to check it out if you're anywhere near Cabo. All in all, don't believe anything you hear from the whiners. If there is a little bit of music, so what? It's immensly better than going to work in -40.

  • Liked — Location, room comfort
  • Disliked — Can't think of anything!

My husband and I stayed here on our second trip to Cabo. The first time we went, we stayed in the Melia Cabo Real in the corridor and figured we couldn't go wrong staying at a related hotel closer to the marina area. We were wrong!!! If you're looking for all techno disco all the time, then this is the place for you. If you decide to take a walk on the beach at any point, don't leave your personal belongings poolside - Nikki beach staff, took our belongings (some of which they never accounted for), sold our chair for $50.00 and told us in so many words to 'Get Lost'! When we complained to hotel management, they couldn't help us as the hotel is a separately run entity from the Nikki beach pool and bar area. This pool area is open to the public and becomes overrun with outside guests. It's nice to have the option of the loud music and overcrowded scene, but not to have it forced upon you. Had we been warned before we booked, we would have chosen another hotel. The Passions night club blast music from 10pm until the wee hours on the weekend. If you don't care for their music, you can't even sit on your own terrace and enjoy the ocean air and beautiful location of the hotel. Poolside, the DJ plays the same type music loudly from Thursday - Sundays. You can't drown it out with an IPOD and you can't carry on a conversation with the person next to you. This may be ok for one day of your vacation but to be subjected to it for seven days was way over the top. We enjoy a good party as much as the next person, but this was a hotel I would never visit again. Many other guests felt the same way. Especially ones traveling with children. This is definately not a romantic vacation or a family getaway!!!!!!

  • Liked — location to main Cabo area
  • Disliked — Nikki beach owns the pool and bar area and caters to outside guests, not hotel guests
