I read many reviews prior to my stay at ME Cabo and quite frankly, was a bit nervous about the noise level. I requested a room away from the nightclub and Stephanie, the Desk Clerk was very accommodating. As soon as the Bellman takes your bags, the Timeshare people converge upon you! We declined and they didn’t persist. They would probably be better served to give guests a day to recoup from the flight and taxi ride.

The property is nearly 20 years old and while the décor has been updated in a trendy fashion, it does show its age. Our room was clean, the TV and iPod station were in working order and the internet was relatively fast. The bathroom lighting was a bit drab but the shower was nice and the bath offered Aveda products. The beds are a bit hard in Mexico but the linens were of high quality and changed daily. While they are striving for a modern look, some color would have been nice. My husband likes to unpack and put his things away but there was really no place in which to do so. There is only a small closet and two baskets so we kept our clothing in our bags. I read in past reviews about people being mistakenly charged for mini bar items so we asked the staff to remove ours which they were happy to do.

The hotel grounds were very clean and well maintained. The pool closest to the beach was resurfaced and they started the other one during our visit. The jackhammers were a bit loud but they didn’t begin until late morning. I wouldn’t fault a hotel for repairs and updating.

On the note of service, it was fine but I wouldn’t say warm or above and beyond. On our first day, we ordered a bottle of water at the pool and it took over 30 minutes for an $8.00 bottle of water! Best to purchase it in the gift shop for $4.00 or better yet, there are small markets up the road. I ordered a drink at the swim up bar but the bees were terrible so I took it elsewhere. On our last day, I was sunning on one of the poolside beds for over a two hour period and not once did a waiter approach me! I guess I’d say the service is inconsistent. We ordered room service a couple of times and it was fast and pretty much standard hotel quality food. Delivery of coffee was very reasonable and nice to have it out on the balcony before starting the day. The breakfast buffet was fair and included a Bloody Mary or Mimosa. We had a drink in the Passion Club – the fire pit was nice and the waiter was friendly. I never found it to be loud from other parts of the hotel. They do pipe in techno type music at the pool but not what I’d call blasting or offensive. Some of which sounded like the Buddha Bar collection, Sade, that sort of thing.

We did see a bachelor party at the pool – just some wild guys having a good time. The partying wasn’t just young people but individuals of all ages. The ME website and their advertisements show young, fit, “beautiful” people but it was very diverse, no different than any other hotel in the world. A good mix I thought! The ME isn’t what I’d refer to as a high end resort by any stretch but it’s a clean, conveniently located hotel. We will likely return! I've stayed in the corridor area of Cabo and you have two choices - the $20 cheeseburger or the $20 Taxi. ME is in a phenomenal location - a 5 minute walk to town.

Tip: The Sand Bar is literally steps from the hotel (20 yards maybe). Ask for Victor, he’ll set you up with some awesome Chicken Nachos for $7.00. There is also a gal who gives a great massage for about $20! The Mango Deck, next door, has great breakfast for $4.00! Lorenzillo’s on the marina – DON’T BOTHER. Their signature 20 ounce lobster tail is a plate of small lobster pieces sitting atop an old lobster shell – to the tune of $70! There is much better lobster available at a fraction of the price! Taco Loco, right in front of Cabo Wabo has great Fajitas - $8.00 and enough for two!

I returned from Me Cabo yesterday and it still feels like I have a hangover from cheap booze. The size and design of the room was fine but the lemon cleaner they use is so overpowering I had an allergy attack the moment I entered my room. Some of it had gotten stuck in the pipes somewhere and I was actually awakened by the smell in the morning. In addition, the tub didn't drain properly and the sink leaked all over the counter. When I asked to change rooms, they had no where for me to go because half of the cleaning staff hadn't shown up for work that day. When someone from the front desk called to see how my room was I told her about all of the problems. Instead of addressing them she told me she would love to fix me up with some nice Mexican gentlemen since I'm not married.

I had to drag a valet to my room to smell the terrible smell before they would send someone to fix it. When they fixed the smell, the other plumbing problems got worse and I never was able to get them fixed.

The music they play all over the hotel is common and uninspired, and they serve copious amounts of alcohol to 15 year olds who become obnoxious. The staff are very friendly but completely useless.....Not one request that I or my friends made was actually honored (correctly) in a timely manner or without being made multiple times. They are charging world class prices for completely crap service.

Also I discovered a ring missing that I am certain I did not lose. When I called the hotel to see if they had found it in my room they promised to call me back very soon.....Haven't heard from them yet. The beach isn't nearly as nice as other parts of Mexico and you feel like you are in the movie Speed II when the cruise ships come in and completely block the view from the hotel.

I've had much, much better experiences at much less expensive hotels just about everywhere else in Mexico and really anywhere else in the world. I would never recommend Me Cabo to anyone.

Dear Mr. /Ms.

At ME Cabo Hotel our aim is to exceed the expectations of our guests, and we deeply regret when we do not fully achieve this.

I hope that you stay at our Hotel on your next visit to Cabo. We would like to demonstrate that this Hotel is usually delivering the service that is expected from a Sol Melia Hotel.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

My wife and I who travel quite a bit for fun recently stayed at The Me Cabo. I read alot of the reviews posted here, and I wanted to throw my two cents in.

First off, the Resort is very clean, close to many great restaurants and the marina, and is a great place to stay if you are looking for a fun vacation.

Yes, the music form the club Passion was very loud on the weekends, and you could hear it at 4am no matter what room you were staying in.

The Nikki Beach Club was fantastic during the day, they have staff who are waiting to get you a beverage or snack the entire day. The prices are reasonable, and they have a 2 For 1 special from 11am-1pm. Note- Many people who come off the cruise ships come over to the Beach, and are welcome to the same spot you are- so get down there early. The guests from the cruises on our trip were very obnoxious to the staff. I guess they diidn't get waited on hand-and-foot on the cruise, so they were expecting it from their visit to Niki Beach.

The rooms are spacious, and the decor is very modern. They have a very fresh scent that fills the lobby and the corridors of the resort.

Dislikes- The shower, and the Music on the weekends. (Don't let this keep you away, this resort is really a great place.)

Likes- Beach, Pool, Views of Lover's Beach, and the opportunity to walk to many of the Beach bars and water Sports activities.

Check out the following Places to make your visit Outstanding:

Lover's Beach early AM before the crowds roll in

Sunset De Mona Lisa restaurant (Great Place to dine outside and watch the sunset)

Edith's Restaurant

Take a ride to One and Only Palmilla for breakfast at Aqua-

Cabo Wabo and El Squid Roe

This was one of our best vacations to a resort that was empty due to the time of our visit- The week before Christmas. There were even renovations going on in the hotel because the occupancy was so low, it did not impact us in any negative way at all!!!

If you are under 45- Me Cabo is a Must!!!

My wife and I left the kids behind for a four day relaxation trip to Cabo. The ME is a terrific hotel for couples looking for a hip scene in Cabo. The Nikki Beach pool area caters to those looking to chill the day away on canopy covered beds. Views are magnificent, food is so-so, drinks are standard Cabo fare.

Rooms are spacious, and the beds are comfy. The staff was always courteous and never in your face. They don't allow outside food, so you can't go to Costco to load up. And there is no stove in the rooms.

If you want a massage, make sure you specify that you want it poolside. The "spa" is nothing more than a musty room on the second floor.

Overall, a great place to stay in the Medano Beach area.

Melia usually is a top brand of Hotels. This all inclusive resort, with a relative good location. You can take a free bus to downtown.

The design is good, rooms are clean and safe.

Restaurants cook nice dishes, is small portions. It worth it, but there are better hotels in the area.

This is advisable when you need to make an all inclusive trip, without expending a lot, and with a good hotel.

The hotel is very familiar, if you are traveling in a honey moon or a romantic gateway I recomend you for Los Cabos to look as a good option the Westin Hotel.

  • Liked — Room confort
  • Disliked — Long walk to arrive to the room, far from downtown
