We stayed at the ME Cabo the week of Labor Day. We're timeshare owners and traded for a stay at the Melia (part of the hotel is for timeshares, but most is hotel rooms). We were confused during the first day when several people we met said, "Your'e staying at the ME Cabo??" The next day we realized why--we were by far the oldest people there (we're in our mid 50's), and this is definitely a place geared toward the young. That said, it in no way diminished our experience there. We had a great room (Rm 316) with the biggest balcony in the place, overlooking the main pool and the ocean with a great view of Land's End.

On Tuesday Hurricane Henriette came ashore at Los Cabos. Luckily it was only a Category 1, and we heard that there was only one fatality (a woman killed in the surf, the news said). The hotel lost power for a few hours, but they went around to every room, checking on people and encouraging them to stay in their rooms during the worst of the rain and winds (the lobby floors were slippery from rain blowing in). The next day we drove to Todos Santos and saw some flooded areas, but no big damage.

Our room was right above the Passion Club lounge, but only one night did the music waft into our room. We didn't really use many of the hotel's amenities, since we were there for the diving and snorkeling. However, whenever we needed help, Carlos, the concierge was terrific in helping us. He's a charming young man and VERY good at what he does!

If you like being in the heart of the action in Cabo, the ME Cabo is the place for you, but even if you're like us, I'd still recommend this place as a great setting with easy access to all the restaurants (walking distance of downtown Cabo).

I planned a 20+ group travel to this resort after review of good comments and recommendations from travel planners. The overall resort was very well kept and very clean everywhere. There are only 2 disappointments and 1 of which was a major concern for anyone travel here.

First disappointment was the food, there are 4 restaurants however 2 of which requires reservations, it seems those restaurants that require reservation can not keep up the the amount of people that they serve and the service tend to be on the slow side.
The international buffet restaurant was not up to par to some of the places that we have stayed in Cancun. This place do not change their menu for the 5 days we stayed.
Actually only the Mexican restaurant changed some dishes in the menu. So if you were looking to good dinning do not stay too long , because the food will get to you.

Second is a major safety concern, where during our stay, 1 tourist was kill after wallking on the beach and sweep to the sea and drown, now this is not a resort problem, but they did not attempt to warn any tourist that did not know the danger of it, I later learn from others that the previous month one other tourist was also killed walking on the beach. The least the hotel could have done was to warn people during check-in or post security on the beach to warn tourist, but none of this was done, it was a very serious safety oversight that they were not concern with.

My friends and I stayed at the ME August 23-28. It was beautiful. The staff was friendly and the views wonderful. We weren't bothered by the loud music much because we were out there partying.......... In fact, there were some nights we'd come back to the hotel and the Passion Club scene was over. The drinks are pricey, but it's Nikki Beach. We loved the pool bar. I liked the slide in the pool. A great laid back atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I had stayed at ME Cabo once before, January 2006. We greatly enjoyed our stay then. This time we didn't enjoy the stay as much.

First, summer break attracts many younger travelers. At one point, at least three different bachelor parties were being held at the ME Cabo during our weekend stay. My wife and I are in our late 20's, but the younger crowd was the kind that still finds it entertaining to take beer bong hits by the pool. That's not our speed.

Second, we upgraded to stay on the level. We don't recommend this upgrade. For $30/night (which was originally offered at $60/night) we stayed in a level junior suite. We stayed in a ocean view suite on our last stay. There is no difference between the rooms. Level guests are also provided complimentary breakfasts. These breakfasts are tasty, However, the selection and portions are very small. We were told that level guests have complimentary internet access in the Level's "Living Room." During our stay there was no complimentary internet access because, as we later learned, the Level's laptop computers were stolen. On the bright side, the Friday night happy hour at 5 p.m. for Level guests was enjoyable. Top shelf liquor and a nice selection of Mexican red wines were available.

I have read many review complaining about the techno/trance music played by the pool and at Passion Club. The music did not bother me. Friday night, Passion Club was packed with young travelers and the music was pounding. However, I never heard the music from my room all night. While soaking up the sun at the pool, I enjoyed the techno/trance music. It made the setting relaxing and very chic.

As for location, ME Cabo is tops. From ME Cabo, the walk to downtown Cabo is short. However, if you're into golf, the taxi is at least $20 one way to Cabo del Sol, the closest nice golf course to ME Cabo. Also guests of ME Cabo enjoy a discounted green fee at Cabo Real, an affiliated property.

Overall, my wife and I had a good time at ME Cabo. However, we prefer to stay there during the winter when the crowds are small and more relaxed.
