I would prefer to keep places like this to myself so that they don't change. The Mar de Cortez is fantastic! If you are looking for an all inclusive $$$$ resort, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a traditional mexican hacienda style room without phone or TV, very clean rooms, great restaurant for breakfast, a fresh fruit vendor just on the corner, exceptional staff that truly cares, you have found it. It is located in the heart of Cabo near all the nightlife, a 15 minute stroll to the beach, great shopping and restaurants. No taxi's into town needed. We love it there and it's the only place we stay in Cabo.

The room I had was spartan but clean enough. The pool is nice, and the location is great. The service was really good, they helped us make phone calls at the front desk, and the restaurant is a good choice.
Many loud post-party guests come in at all hours, so bring earplugs or pay extra for a room off of the main passage through the hotel.

We stayed here on the last night of our Thanksgiving Week vacation - I only wish we'd found this place sooner! Quaint, clean, friendly and very simple. No TVs or telephones but isn't that why you're on vacation in the first place? The restaurant was amazing! We walked everywhere, as the hotel is smack dab in the middle of everything!We are going back this weekend for a quick 5-day stay but I'm confident that it's only the second of many, many more stays!
