The Tesoro Los Cabo is a fine hotel. I'd rate it a B+.

The location is excellent and even almost perfect, you don't need a taxi to go downtown Cabo, the mall, or restaurants. The hotel even operates an hourly water taxi, free of charge, if you want to go to the beach (Medano) to swim and hang out.

The accomodations are OK. The rooms are typical hotel, nothing great but nothing bad either. My only complaint was that the room was not clean when we arrived.

The food is pretty good. People may complain but honestly, I liked it and thought they offered good food. It's buffet style and the location is awesome as you look over the harbor while you eat. If you don't like it, you can always walk a few blocks and buy something or even cook. And remember, it's all you can drink for those who like alcohol.

Would I stay here again? Yes, very much so and I would recommend it highly to other guests.

Just wanted to write and confirm the positve response to the Tesoro Resort in Cabo. We stayed there in Feb.'07, and the accomodations were great. The location can't be beat. We were very pleased with our balcony and view.
We didn't take the all-inclusive package and ate at all the little marina front bistro's...good prices and great views.

The staff was helpful, and the maids were gracious. My biggest complaint is all the time-share sales...which includes, those who nab you in the lobby -they call themselves concierge's, and the other sales people on every corner...they eventually left us alone, but it was tiresome.

We plan to stay at the Tesoro when we return.

We are timeshare owners who exchanged into this hotel from May 26 to June 2 and had to upgrade to mandatory all inclusive. The best part of the hotel is the location on the marina and within walking distance of many Cabo activities. Check in was a nightmare which took about an hour which is not the way to start a vacation. It seemed only one person out of five knew anything, so we had to wait several times until she finished with other people so our person could ask her what to do. We were confirmed into a two bedroom which consisted of a newly remodeled junior suite with a king bed in one room and a good size living room and also a huge balcony with a hammock overlooking the marina. The second bedroom was actually another regular hotel room next door which was small with a king bed. The food was average, but very repetitive by the end of a week. The ala carte restaurant was better quality and service, but my kids did not like the limited menu so we did not go back. Our 7 year old was only one of two kids in that age range at the resort we saw and we were there for a week. She was treated well, but nothing geared towards that age. The pool consisted mostly of young people trying to get drunk off of the all inclusive and closed at 6, so to swim we took our little one to Medano Beach on the free water taxi. This was a good included service, but each time we used it the supposed inclusive to be used at Baja Cantina at the beach was "closed" as the Cantina employees said, but we were not notified prior. The worst things about the resort are the lack of service, the beds are so hard that me and my wife woke up sore each morning, and the lack of hot water and water pressure which was dismal. The resort might be good for a short stay if you are there to party, but anything more I am sure there are better choices. It could be so much more with better management.

This was my first experience with an "all inclusive" type resort. The photos on the web site really made this place look classy and elegant. We paid only about $500 each for a 3 night stay here that included the hotel and flight. So with that said, it was a great deal!
I would suggest this place for the younger crowd on a tight budget looking for the basics. If you want good food or good service dont stay here. The food was HORRIBLE and the service was bad. Ill gladly pay for something better next time.

PROS: Wonderful view of the marina. The FREE water taxi service to the beach. The central location to the nightlife.

CONS: I really really wish I spoke spanish. Poor customer service. Horrible food.

My husband and I went to Cabo for 7 days to get married on Pedregal Beach, and stayed at the Tesoro. I was very worried about staying here due to some of the terrible reviews and was especially worried about all of the thefts people have encountered. With our wedding rings being in the room for the first few days, cash, jewelry, birth certificates ect. I was really paranoid. We just kept all of that stuff in the safe in the closet and had NO problems whatsoever with any theft.
We did the all inclusive package through a time-share, and we had a nice BIG room with a huge patio area on the back, our room was cleaned and bed changed every day before noon, the food at the buffet style restaurant was ok, breakfast was definately my favorite. They also have the Agave Azul, a nice little restaurant that requires reservations. This place had amazing service and good food. It was all included in our package. It is a water taxi ride to the beach, but it wasn't a pain at all. It was kind of fun.
The location can NOT be beat. We were in walking distance of EVERYTHING of interest in downtown Cabo, which is important because cabs are outrageous!
The hotel had activities every day. They had stuff to do in the pool, karaoke, shows they put on...different things for whatever day it was. The pool water was kind of cold, but refreshing.
My husband is hispanic and speaks spanish, so we had no problems with language barriers and the staff was all very friendly to us. Everyone knew that we came there to get married and were celebrating with us!
This IS the oldest resort in Cabo, so you have to expect not the most gorgous new place, but overall....we had a blast!
