We went to Tesoro for our honeymoon. The airport is what everyone says it is, just don't listen to anybody, put on your blinders and get outside. We didn't have a shuttle reserved, but we were able to get one for about $17 a person. Check-in was no problem at the hotel. I think this all depends on what time you get there, because I saw some pretty long lines later in the week. Our room was alright. It was a Jr suite, but not the one with the new furniture. They do have them availiable, we saw one. The bed are all hard. They have no box spring, it's a mattress on a concrete slab. It's my understanding however that this is just how it is. Let me get through the bad stuff so I can get to the good! The front desk is a waste of time. Only once the entire time we were there was our mini fridge filled. Between my husband and I we complained by phone and person about 6 times. Finally when he went down and got "loud" they stocked it, but that was the only time. This didn't seem to be a widespread problem, everyone else we talked to had no trouble. Our entire floor lost water. This wouldn't had bothered me accept that I was trying to get ready for dinner and had just left the pool. Most of the hotel seems to loose power in the afternoon each day. It has something to do with the construction. We were in the pool everytime so the only inconvinent part to us was no blender or music. Now that I've done my coplaining, let's talk good. This hotel is very fun! The pool was such a great time that we never saw the beach! All you can drink, entertainment, and staying cool. The entertainment staff is hilarious. It's like a two man physical comedy show. When the bar is really busy order 2 at a time. The bartenders work their butts off! The food was pretty good! The Mexican buffet is really good. The other times it did the job. It is closed however between meals, and during this time you can either get room service, or you can visit what we affectionatly started calling the drunk tank. The VIP lounge. A completely glass surrounded room with very stale food, When it's 4:00 am I guess you don't care. My husband would barely touch it though and he'll eat anything. There is a trick that I'd like to share. Take your coffee pot down to said trunk tank and fill with beer from the keg! Our coffee pot didn't work anyway, and this saved us many trips! The Agave Azul restraunt is excellent! The service is wonderful. The food is to die for. Try the stuffed mushrooms! One more note on the food. If you are all inclusive, order room service once a day. It will cost you $3 a person, but if you order something like the club sandwich that will keep in the fridge, you'll have something for those 4:00 AM snack attacks. The lobby bar was a great hang out. Guadalupe was a great bartender and host. He provided us with a lot of helpful info and was always happy to serve us. The town is a trip. I found it better to know what i wanted to buy before I got out there with the vultures. By the end of the trip you'll have heard "Hey buddy this is the place, I got it here" so mant times that it will be embedded in your brain. My husband caught on that if ask for things you know they don't have it shuts them up. His favorite was wooden beaver. I do have to give a shout out to Physco Tattoo! I had a bad experience at a certain other tattoo parlor, and the guys down at Phsyco fixed me right up! We met some great people at this resort. Definately a party place to be. I won't get into it all but these people made our trip fun and interesting Thanks to Linda, Rob, Eric, Linda, Irish Mike, & Irish Steve! Trust me this place is great place to make friends! All in all the vacation was a blast. We let the good outweigh the bad and had a great time. I would suggest this to snyone who likes to party, and not to anyone who is to fussy. Remember.. Wht happens down in Mexico, Stays in Mexico!

No beach, pool is on the second floor. We were not all inclusive so the staff virtually ignored us. Our toilet leaked the entire two weeks we were there. On the night of our 9th day we were accosted by a time share sales person representing herself as a "Welcome Package Hostess" at 7 PM in the evening while we were leaving the hotel. We found far better value for a lot less money elsewhere in Cabo.

Last Visit:October 2006Great for:SpaI booked a package for this hotel in Jan. since we go to the Sammy Hagar's Birhday party every year. I planned ahead so we could stay in town since you have to stay in line all night for the concert tickets.
When we arrived after a long day of air travel from Detroit.
The front desk had said are travel agent had not made a payment on our paid package months in advance. I did not have a cell phone that worked. After a hour or so trying to work this out I was able to call my son at home he did a three way call the travel agent called and confirm payment was made and suddenly they were found our pre-paid reservation several people had problems at the front desk. People were being transferd to other hotels. We were transferd for a day to another hotel out of town. Which did not work for us since we had to stay in town for the concert. It messed everything up. Also I could not unpack for one day. The next day we could not get our room to unpack till 5:00pm. So we lost two days of our vacation.
They gave us a cheap bottle of wine on the 4th day there to make up for it.

I just returned from a 6day trip staying at the Tesoro Los Cabos... Fabulous Time!!! We did not want to come home. There were 4 'couples' in our party - some did have problems checking in - due to overbooking. This tho actually turned out for the best for my 'couple' - we had booked a jr suite and were upgraded to a master suite at no extra charge. FYI - room 344 is fantastic! Yes the bed was hard but whatever! Gorgeous view of the marina with a double balcony. My experience with the service was phenomenal. The staff was friendly and seemed to try to anticipate every need. We all had the all inclusive package, and ate breakfast and lunch every day at the buffet which is right by the pool overlooking the marina. Every morning a fresh omelet made to order and wonderful fresh fruit! There was always a great selection of goodies just about anytime of the day, and even tho it was buffet style, there were still staff making sure you didn't need for anything. The actual restaurant you do need to make reservation for - and was veeery good - with many included items. We did get the 'surf and turf' - lobster and steak - which was not free.. $16.00! We didn't eat there till the last night and quickly decided we should have been having dinner there all week! The pool was awesome! Perfect temperature water, overlooking the marina, a swim up bar, and everflowing free 'Miami Vices' - a mixture of strawberry margarita and pina colada (i think) - that were veeerry refreshing and definately got the party started! When hungry, when asked - they would bring us food poolside. They offered professional poolside massages (yes for a price). This was also the best location for everything - right ON the marina, shopping, restaraunts, and clubs (block & 1/2 from Cabo Wabo!) all within walking distance. No it wasn't the 'Finest' hotel I've ever stayed at, but it was quite nice, in the best location for water and Cabo access, great staff, and we had an absolutely Fabulous time!

Went to Tesoro from 10/8-10/12. I love the location of this hotel as it is within walking distance to many shops clubs and restaurants. If you want you can even walk to the beach, takes about half hour but it's a nice walk. The hotel is in the process of remodeling so there are some areas where there are gaps in the walkways and cement missing from the walls, this is mostly on the lowest floor where the shopping area is and that walks out to Solomons landing (a great place to eat, excellent sushi). If they give you a room that is not remodeled try to upgrade, it is worth it. We got an older room that had a window that did not open and no drawers to put your clothes in. Once good thing I can say about the older rooms as opposed to the new is the water pressure is enough to knock you to the back of the shower. It was ok, but just that, once we were moved it was sooo much better. We had a nice large balcony with a hammock overlooking the marina and the bed was much softer. Some at the front desk were not helpful but just keep trying until you find the person who will help you, that' s what we did.

Food, ok I'm not much of an authority. Yes we did all inclusive but we only ate dinner there once at the Blue Agave which was very good but some dishes you had to pay a surcharge, such as Ribeye or Lobster, but there were many things at no charge. We splurged and had wine and appetizers (try the stuffed mushrooms yummm) and salad, it was great. As for the buffet we only ate there for breakfast which was good, an assortement of fruits, juices, ceral, yogurt, eggs, potatoes, some mexican dishes, etc. They also have a person who will make you pancakes, french toast or an omelet. I thought breakfast was fine with enough choices for anyone to be satisfied. We had lunch at the buffet once, just a burger which was fine. The drinks flowed freely but they did tend to close the bar down kind of early (12 or 12:30) in my opinion. The only beer they had was tecate and of course the top shelf brands of alcohol had a surcharge but one could usually find something in another brand if they weren't too picky. I really like the free water taxi to the beach, where you could get 3 drink tickets a day and food like nachos or quesidillas for free as well. The shuttle leaves every hour starting at 9am and ending at 5pm. All in all I would stay there again as long as I had a new room with a view of the marina. So close to all and really a pretty good deal with the AI.
