I have to agree with many of the other postings here about several of the comments:
1. Location is great if you want to be at the marina and walking distance to the main dock, all over town, shopping, etc.
2. Hotel in general is tired and needs remodeling. Rooms have worn furniture, lots of wear and tear and the most uncomfortable beds ever! I did request a foam topper for my bed and one was provided - a huge improvement which made it tolerable.
3. All inclusive is a good deal if you plan to drink lots of alcoholic beverages and don't mind cafeteria quality food. Cost was $50. per person per day for adults and $25. for children. Even the "fine dining" restaurant was not fine and the service there was terrible. Reservations are required for the dinner restaurant which we had for 7:30 PM. Finally at 8:15, after much pleading, we were seated. It took until about 8:30 to get any service at all. Then they had run out of lobster - mind you they are open until 11:00 PM!
4. Although there is plenty of room around their pool for more lounge chairs, this hotel is too cheap to buy more. One must get out there and throw a towel on a chair to save it by no later than 8:00 AM or you're out of luck - ridiculous! As for the jacuzzi, one employee told me it hasn't worked in at least 6 years.
5. The entertainment is extremely amateurish - like some high school dance recitals and comedy routines. They do involve the audience in some of their skits and people seemd to enjoy that.
6. Pool activities consist of bracelet making, water aerobics, mini-putt contest and the daily "tequilla volleyball game".
7. We went over to the beach at Playa Medano where Tesoro shares a private area called Baja Cantina. They had plenty of lounge chairs there and did serve beer, margaritas and soft drinks which were part of the all-inclusive. Baja Cantina is next to a couple of other restaurant/bars on the beach such as Billigans, The Office and Mango Deck. Some fun and "suggestive" games were being played there like drinking contests, bikini contest, etc.
As for Cabo itself, we enjoyed a snorkel trip to Bahia Santa Maria on the Sun Rider which included the boat ride, open bar, snorkel equipment and a carne asada lunch for $45. per person. Also took a sunset cruise on the Jungle Cruise catamaran for $35. per person which turned out to be a booze fest with dirty dancing and body shots being performed on half naked, very young and very drunk women. Would not suggest this excursion for those looking for a nice cruise around the bay and we would not take it again. There is now a Jazz and Wine cruise that may be more suitable for some. Our favorite activity was the ATV ride over on the Pacific side dunes - very fun! Just be sure to take some clothes that you don't mind getting very dirty and I would suggest jeans and sneakers (vs. shorts and sandals) - you will get dirty!
All in all we had a good week because we kept the right attitude. However, we would not stay at this hotel again unless we knew for sure that the new management had made some significant changes.
Be advised that the sun is very strong in Cabo, being so close to the equator - lots of sunscreen necessary!
Many people would have a great time in Cabo especially those who like to fish, shop, have fun in the sun and PARTY!! Young adults will enjoy The Giggling Marlin and Squid Roe.
