We booked through Expedia and got a standard room for $50.00 a night. I read all the reviews and was a bit hesitant. Our flight was half full, I guess the swine flu the media hyped up had something to do with that. We got to the hotel and asked to upgrade to a marina view, they didn't haggle at all. She offered one, but said it was a long walk. We said we were fine with the city view. We were offered help with our bags, although we didn't need it for our carry-ons. We went to our room and it was great! We didn't share a balcony and the city view was beautiful. I can't figure out why someone would complain about the view. The bathroom was really nice, with a big shower and nice tile work. The room was super quiet and comfortable. We spent one day at the pool and yes, it is lined, but it didn't bother either of us. The bartender was great and the drinks were cheap. We didn't get all inclusive because we rather eat out. We ate at the hotel for breakfast and ordered traditional mexicano meal. It was very tasty and filling and breakfast for 2 cost us $14. I loved this hotel, the marina is right there and you can walk to any place downtown. I recommend Mi Casa, a bit pricey, but excellent food and traditional mexican atmosphere. We also went to Soloman's Landing on the marina and had a wonderful breakfast there. We went to Mama's Cafe for breakfast and that too was super good. No trip is complete without going to the Mango Deck. This is just a FUN place to go and get 2 for 1 drinks. To get to the marina by water taxi is $6, but the hotel offers free shuttle to Pueblo Bonita resort on Medano, just ask about times.

This is a great hotel for the price. The renovated rooms are clean, spacious, and modern. If you are young, or the the type of people who don't want to sit around your resort everyday of your trip, this is the place to stay. Right downtown, a short walk to the clubs and markets, right on the marina front, with higher end shops, bars, and restaurants. It's only downfall, is that it's not beachfront. However, they do share a beach club with water taxi service to and from, or better yet, walk along the marina front boardwalk, it takes a little while, but it's a nice walk. Staying in the tourist corridor is no better, the beaches out there are too rocky, you can't swim on them anyways. The staff are awsome, some of the front desk staff don't speak the best english. We made great friends with the bartenders, waiters, and activites staff, and they really made our stay great. The location is great for going out, exploring the city, and going to the beach, can't beat it. The views of the ocean are awsome, upgrade to a suite with a balcony, it's worth the extra price. It is a little hard to navagate, if your room is far away from the elevators, so I wouldn't recomend it for people with mobility issues. I found the food ok, but then again, after going to Cuba, everything else is great! Overall, a great place.

Went to Mexico for the first time, booked guaranteed marina view with balcony which was the most expensive option on hotels.com. What we got when we arrived was the concierge laughing at how much we had spent on the room and giving us a sliver of a marina view and a horrible view of a resturant/dusty parking lot. At one point in the trip my boyfriend was in the room when a man let himself onto our locked room. Surprised to see someone in there, he offered to sell my boyfriend water. CREEPY!
The beds are rock hard, the rooms are loud, but during swine flu season we were the only ones on the beach as far as you could see(after you walked for 15+ minutes to get to a beach).
Spend the extra money on a hotel closer to a beach with softer beds and better security.

This hotel is definitely designed for people looking for a cheap vacation and nothing more. The location is great and the staff members are nice. The food was not very good, not much selection and we were told there were two restaurants open for all inclusive and there was actually only one. The buffet was available for breakfast and lunch with not much food to choose from and the alecart restaurant was open for dinner with a small all-inclusive menu to choose from, or else you had to pay an additional fee.

The room was small (which wasn’t a big deal) but the shower had no hot water and our bar fridge was never stocked with water or beer.

The hotel is definitely clean. The pool was clean but very cold, not refreshing way way to cold. The staff was really great at the restaurants, very friendly and helpful.

The Location was great everything is within walking distance and the restaurants on the marina had great food and good prices. It was a little sketchy walking down by the marina at night.

No entertainment crew at the pool or even in the evenings and the hotel was very quit. Not much to do unless you went out at night.

If you are use to staying at a 4 or 5 star resort this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a cheap vacation not wanting to spend a bunch of money…then give this hotel a try just don’t have high expectations when you go.

After an exhausting trip and fighting the million timeshare hawkers at the airport, we were ready to get settled in to our room. I cannot say enough bad things about the cold nature and lack of customer service with the front desk staff. VERY, VERY rude man checked us in - with no name tag. I read all of the postings on TA thoroughly - so I knew what we were getting into. It was a last minute trip and the cheap deal for all-inclusive lured me in! I asked for the room block that several people had mentioned on TA as well as marina view and - not too far from the elevators. The front desk man acted furious that I knew that these were the best rooms. He said, "How did you know about these rooms???!!!!" I knew from that point on it was not going to be worth the effort to be specific about what we wanted. Overall, we did get a marina view - that was VERY far from the elevators and not in the area that we had requested. I feel that he purposely gave us the opposite of what we had requested.

Having said this - the bar and pool staff quickly made up for the nasty front desk man. All week they were wonderful and we had a great time. We did tip them a few pesos each time and we wanted for nothing! Pool was freezing - never warmed up the entire trip despite 80+ degree weather.

Buffet did get a little monotonous after a few days and we ventured off site to try some of the seafood restaurants. Hotel is VERY clean and safe. It seemed as if there were cleaning crews around the hotel 24 hours a day.

Excellent proximity to all of the bars, shopping, etc. That alone makes this hotel worth dealing with the front desk. Ultimately you get what you pay for. We only paid $1,000 US for 7 nights, all-inclusive. We would have paid triple elsewhere and had to pay $20 cab rides to get into town.
