I went to Club Tesoro Wyndham in Cabo after purchasing a package from Travel Zoo. The deal for 2 people included transportation to or from the hotel/airport, 4 nights in a Jr. suite, and a sunset dinner cruise (all x 2). Even though I paid for 2, I was only given 1 transportation to/from hotel-airport). Apparently someone must have told the time-share people we were given the package because they kept referring to our stay as a "gift". We paid for 2 people for each double room and also paid for breakfast to be added for convenience. It was a long walk to the front desk from our rooms. They charged for internet access which did not work very often. The consierge people were only nice if you bought something, which we did (a day tour to Todos Santos) Once we bought it, we were history.

The pool area was below our room and was loud at sunrise on.

The pool deck was claustrophobically small, with 1 closed M-F pool bar and one small bar. There was a dj that played played "trance" music. The wait staff/bartender ignored us unless we got out a bottle of water, which was when the staff swooped down to say we were not allowed to have any outside drinks! We were not asked if we wanted anything, just told we could not bring in anything. We tried to and would have ordered drinks if given an opportunity.

It was a ho hum experience over all. I would not go back.

Room Tip: Marina area is central but when flooded smelled like a sewer. Consierge was rude Housekeepers were...

Right in the middle of everything. No need for a car or taxi's. Not a beach location but they are very close. Water taxi is available at the dock, just walk downstairs. Many excellent restaurants and bars within walking distance. Substantial buffet breakfast was included with our stay. We spent the first night in a very small room, we requested a larger room and we were offered one for a nominal fee. There was a little nudging at check-in in regards to timeshares but not too bad. We declined and they were gracious and left us alone after that.

One compliant is that because of it's location and low rates this hotel attracts people that I would prefer to avoid. Early Sunday morning was very noisy when the drunks were returning to their rooms from a night of revelry. This started at about 0300 and lasted until sun-up.

A few words about the airport. Avoiding the timeshare people is almost impossible as you try to get out of the terminal. These folks will ask you what your transportation arraignments are and they will tell you that Jose, Pablo, Juan, anybody! is waiting outside and will pick you up in a few minutes. Not true, they have no connection with any of the carriers and will try to direct the conversation to TIMESHARES. Getting out of the terminal is somewhat difficult in that exits are not clearly marked. To me this is a safety issue. Very annoying!

Tip: We took the public buses to Todos Santos. $10 (pesos) will get you to the main bus station on a city bus. They look a little raggedy but are safe. A nicer air conditioned bus will get you to Todos Santos for $200 (pesos) in about an hour. Buses run frequently. A nice way to spend the day outside of Cabo without spending too much money. We found out about this option from one of the activities venders. This was very nice in that there was no money in it for him. I gave him a little gratuity the next time I saw him.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room before accepting it.

I did not like Club Tesoro at all!! Our room was up two very narrow and slippery flights of stairs (very first red flag), room was cramped, AC barely worked (ceiling fans just blew around the hot air around), bathroom door wouldn't close properly, water in the shower was COLD. One night there was a tropical storm and the power blew out for a few hours--there was no backup generator to turn on the power again. There was a credit that was supposed to be given to us right away but we ended getting it later than we should have (after several heated discusstions with management and staff.) Floors were very slippery and not very safe--open balcony areas could be potential safety hazard especially if kids were running around there. I will not go back there again!

Location is great, right in the center, easy to walk to everything. No taxi needed. Food was delicious, regular hotel staff is excellent, very professional. 6 bars so beverage service excellent. Swim-up pool bar and large pool with two water fountains. Wonderful! I bought a special at about $300, unfortunately, Travelzoo never alerted you that is was a timeshare promotion nor did the hotel disclose that it was a promotion so with this said, you get hasseled with the Timeshare Staff every day! They were relentless. I was stressed and went for relaxation, but didn't happen. Everyday they were at you. Will never stay again. And not so sure about Travelzoo being upfront. So many other guests felt the same way. Very sad. Recommend the Marina Fiesta, have stayed there twice and LOVED IT!!!!

Room Tip: Hotel is quiet so room with a view of othe Marina is best.

We found the Wyndham to be good value and a great location. Also the hotel chain is obviously spending
A lot of money to upgrade this property. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool has been recently remodeled and was in the final stages of finishing. The furnishings are lavish and really comfy but the service on the pool deck frankly SUCKS!!!!!! They advertise a happy hour from 11am to 1pm at the pool with two for one drinks. Sounds great.....but on two of the days we were there the bar didn't open until after 1pm....... Oh you wanted the two-for-One-drinks-madam-that-was-over-at-one.

UGHHHHHHH!!!!!

But their included breakfast was very nice and the location of the hotel on the marina is super. All in all our stay was very nice and a very good value.

Right on the marina, clean updated rooms, heavily secured. Walk to downtown or marina for shopping, bars, restaurants. Quick water taxi ride to Medano Beach. Everyone is overly friendly and staff more than accommodating. I would never stay anywhere else for the type of trips I go on- to be close everything and easily accessible. Wonderful Staff at the hotel including security, front desk staff and late night staff, concierge Claudia was great and especially Guillermo who works in the tourist information booth along the walkway into the resort. Couldnt ask for better service!
