I stayed at the Plaza Las Glorias as my senior spring break with a bunch of sorority sisters, my boyfriend, and my sorority sister's boyfriend. We had a huge suite that was perfect--we slept 8 people no problem and the two couples had their own rooms. The rooms were nice with a kitchenette to keep cold beer and water and also a table. The best feature was the balcony overlooking the beautiful bay that stretched from the living room all the way to the other end of the master bedroom. It was unbelievable waking up with the sun shining in on the water and the cool bay breeze coming through the balcony door.
The bathroom was my only complaint about the room--every time you turned the shower on, the floor vent would leak and by the time 4 people were done, the bathroom was a slip 'n slide. But, we never asked to get it fixed, so not really the hotel's fault if they didn't know.
The beds are hard like everyone says, but actually the cushions on the lounge chairs are really nice--so sleep on those. We also had a private hot tub on our balcony--perfect for an end of the day soak. The best part about the Plaza was its central location...you could easily get to anywhere by foot and were surrounded by some of the best clubs and restaurants. Eating on the beach was actually some of the best food that I had...find a sexy beach waiter named Gabriel--he gave me free drinks and free shots all week and invited me to party with the locals.
Also, make friends with the people who work at the clubs--I drank for free all week just by being nice and friendly to them, trying to speak in spanish, and flirting a little bit. As far as spring break goes, Cabo is the perfect location because there is a party going on if you want to find it, but on the nights when you don't, the Plaza is a great place to just relax, drink some tequila, and hang out with friends.
I've been a ton of "spring break" places and Cabo was the best--no one was whistling at me and calling me "baby" all week like at the other locations. One word of advice about Cabo, however. Bring peptol bismol or some sort of medication because I was very careful about what I ate and I was really sick the entire time. Of course, the combination of sun and lots of alcohol probably didn't help, but there was definitely some bacteria in the produce. Stick to cooked foods and packaged foods and you'll be fine. Make sure that you bargain with the people on the beach or they will hose you for "mexican" goods. Check out all the goods before you buy and check out which women are doing the best braids. For a really cool sidetrip, take a water taxi to Lover's beach...make sure you go to the bathroom before you leave for there, though. It's the most natural, romantic spot I have ever been to, with the Pacific Ocean waves crashing along one side and the bay on the other where you can swim. Bring a cooler there because there is absolutely nothing other than you, the sand, and a few other tourists.
Much less popular beach, but so worth the day trip.
