My wife, myself and my son stayed at the Villa Del Palmer resort the first week of December of 2004. We had a great time, the place is clean, well kept and the staff were all friendly. The only complaint we have are the pillows, much too thin. We did listen to the time share presentation, received the gold card and used it, shaved us money at the resort along with some tours. The activites at the resort are numerous. I would recommend the beach party and the fiesta night. We did not find that the vendors on the beach to be a problem a simple no gracias worked great. I had booked my vacation prior to reading peoples responses on this website. Because there were so many negative responses I was nervous. Upon arival we were offered the "Welcome Package" which I am sure was the time share pitch. I was never bothered again. I enjoyed everything about the hotel. The food at the hotel is great and the pizza is the best. Out room was cleaned spotless everyday and the maid even did out dishes! For the people who had complaints, I think that they are new to vacationing in Mexico. There are certain things to expect when in Mexico. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is in the perfect location, close to town but far enough away to have privacy. I loved everything about my trip! Rent the scooters they are a blast!

This is our 3rd time staying at VDP. This year we brought along my brother in law, sister in law and our 3 year old niece. What a great time we all had. They even gave us rooms right next to each other on the ground floor so we had direct access to the pool as well as each others patio to hang out in the late afternoon on. The only complaint I have is the mattresses are hard and the pilows not too comfortable but other than that we had an outstanding vacation. When we in Cabo my niece turned 3 and she really wanted a princess cake. I had brought along the mold and my cake decorating cake but the rooms did not have an oven so I contacted room service to see if they would be willing to bake the cake for me and they did - what great service!!!! The staff was so very accomodating, that is probably why we return year after year.

The VDP is a good value, and for the price you can't beat the location. It sits on one of the best beaches for swimming and lounging. All taxi rides into town will range from $7-12US. It's minutes away from the harbor for fishing and diving.

One thing that makes the VDP's beach nice is that everyone hangs out at the pools...go figure! The outdoor restaurant sits above the beach and has a spectacular view, served good food and had average service. One night they even cooked our catch (Dorado) for us for $8US a plate.

The real treat is the Hotel's own supermarket, laundry mat, and internet cafe complete with coffee, espresso and pastries. Sometimes after a long day it was nice to be able to answer e-mails, buy a nice bottle of wine and just know that if you needed them there was also a pharmacy in the supermarket which boasted all of the drugs and meds you'd ever need in an emergency.

We were never asked to listen to any time share jingles, either.

Make sure you ask for a view of the Ocean!!!
