Just returned from this resort which we traded our timeshare in Maui for. That right there may have been a mistake...Maui for Cabo? I was under the impression that Cabo was a great family destination. That is a very inaccurate misconception. The resorts are definitely great for family - the town itself is not.

The resort was great as far as the quality of the accommodations themselves. It's a great family resort with several different pools which are all separated for great privacy weather you're looking for a party croud, more mature croud or to just hang out with the kids. This and the beach were the two hi-lights of the resort.

The timeshare salespeople are disguised as your welcome team, your check-in personnel, your consierge, your bellboy - everybody! Then if you manage to stick to your guns and not do it, they call you in your room and ask you why! I finally told them that I'd do it if they gave me $400 cash and disconnected my room phone. They said they'd check with their managers - I never heard from them again.

The restaurants and deli are incredibly overpriced which doesn't encourage you to stay on the property. The food at LaTortuga was mediocre and the service was horrible. We were actually completely forgotten about twice - it took about 2 hours for us to finish our meals with two small children. I had to request service twice - to get our order in and to get our bill - the two most important parts of service. We ended up having to leave without finishing our meal and our hor's devoures came with our bill! Horribly disappointing - plus they were not in any rush to compensate us by crediting us for the appetizer - we had to take it to go. The nightly buffet/show is overpriced and drinks are not included. We later found out that you can purchase the buffet dinner meal separately and enjoy the show from your patio if you're close enough. They don't offer that information and only tell you it's dinner & a show (without the option of separating them for cheaper). After this we went to Costco and loaded up on food to make in room and enjoy on the patio (and got to see the show for free). Note: They do not encourage eating in room by not giving you anything to wash dishes with or clean up after yourself with (sponge, dish soap, dish towels, broom, etc. We had to buy those at Wal-Mart), however room service does not perform these duties either.

The staff is incredibly noisy before 8am and woke up our kids each morning with their slamming of doors and rolling of garbage cans right by our room. Insulation in the walls is nonexistant - you could hear people coming in from partying every morning at 2-3am which also woke up the kids. My advice would be to try to stay on the upper floors if not the very top floor. We were on the very bottom floor and could actually hear every toilet above us flush in our own bathroom wall because the sewer pipe ran from every floor above us down through our wall - very disgusting when you're trying to sleep!

Well I can now say that I've been to Cabo and have the official stamp in my passport however will stick with Maui from here on out.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments about your last visit to our Resort.

The time share business is very common in many resorts throughout México and Los Cabos is one of them with many companies doing this type of business. We do have almost a hundred thousand people who are very happy with their investment in time share. We are working on been less aggressive on how we do offer this product.

Our Food and Beverage prices are very competitive with resorts of the same quality level. Due to our climate and location, to get all produces in, it is an expensive exercise, aside from keeping on top of all our costs to keep a high level of Food and Beverage processing . We do appreciate your comments and we do thank you for your understanding on this matters

Just got back from a week at the Villa del Palmar. I'm giving it a 3 rating for the large size of the suites and the decks with amazing full on ocean views. My family of 7 had two 2 bedroom villas and there was more than enough room for everyone to have their own space and not get on each other's nerves. Each of the suites had two bedrooms, THREE full bathrooms, a nook kitchen, a living room and a porch. Lots of space! The porches were great, and I spent many a moment staring out at the ocean from my perch.

The location on the beach very close to Cabo San Lucas was great too! The town is just a $7 taxi ride or a 20 minute walk away (far enough away for peace, but close enough to easily enjoy)

That being said, there were some negatives. The beds were really hard (not very comfy), the food at all the restaurants was blah and overpriced (may be the same way at all the resorts), the decor was a bit outdated and the hot tubs at the pool always seemed to be murky and not very hot. They wouldn't let us use the pool at the Villa del arco next door, which we thought was kind of tacky since the two hotels are on the same grounds and they allowed us to use villa del arco's facilities whenever it would benefit them (i.e. you can pay to use the absolutely gorgeous spa at villa del arco or eat at the restaurant).

If you're looking for an affordable place with plenty of space for the family or a group of friends, I would definitely recommend Villa del palmar. If you're looking for luxury, I would say find another place. Have fun!

We stayed at the Villa del Palmar April 25 to May 2. Had two - 2bedroom units, which were very spacious. Three bathrooms in each, a kitchen (minus an oven), and large living space/balcony. The bedrooms each had a king bed and lots of room for storage. Bathrooms in the room had marble shower; hallway bath had a tub/shower combo.

After reading the reviews and previously staying at the Villa del Arco, I was a bit hesistant to book the rooms here. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms (building 1, 16 and 17th floors) were clean, recently renovated and had great views (better than VDA) of the beach/bay. We really enjoyed the mature foilage and trees, especially when lazing in a lounge chair - extra shade! The staff was friendly and there were lots of activities to participate in - Spanish class, yoga, volleyball, etc.

Having stayed at both Villa del Arco and Villa del Palmar (AND purchasing a time share!), there are differences, but I would definitely stay at this resort again.

Whether you are a owner/member or someone looking for a nice place to relax, check out Villa del Palmar!

We booked our trip through a travel agent, and were ready to get to Cabo to relax, and have some down time. We arrived early and of course our room was not ready, we expected this and it was ok, however while we waited for our room we were greated by an employee with our "welcome package." Beware of this, they are going to hound you about their timeshare, and booking an appointment to see it. After fighting to get out of the airport with the timesahre bloodhounds, this is the last thing we wanted to do. We set a time just to get her off our back, and cancelled the next day, that was when the real fun started.

The day we cancelled, our room did not get cleaned until almost 5 p.m., the next day, our room was cleaned, however there were cigarette butts all over our floor, I guess if you do not follow through with their plan for you you get bad service.

Love Cabo, will never stay at this location again. If you are looking to relax, this is not the place to go, if you are looking for a timeshare hounding this is the place to be. Not impressed at all.

My mom, two sisters and I stayed at the Villa Del Palmar for five nights in April. The resort is beautiful and right on the beach. Unfortunately, they do not heat their pools. They do have several pools, one of which has daily activities and a fun slide for the kids (and adults). The food at the restaurant outside the bar was pretty good but not inexpensive. We had pizza which was good, breakfasts and lunches there. They also had a wonderful buffet one night for $38 pp that was very delicious Mexican food with entertainment and all you could drink alcohol. Also, they have happy hour 2 for 1 drinks from 4 pm to 5:30 every day and the margaritas on the rocks were pretty strong.

We had a few problems - we asked the maid to clean up a coke that had exploded in our fridge (it was from their honor bar) and left her a tip but she never did it. It took 3 more calls to the front desk to get this task accomplished. Also, one day my 82-year-old mother wanted an umbrella at the pool and, after seeing one of the guys who worked there drag an umbrella over for someone else, the gentleman we asked said he would "look for one" and "if" he found one he would bring it over. This guy had the little earpiece in his ear and was obviously some kind of manager. My sister and I decided to just to get an umbrella ourselves but ended up asking someone else and they gladly brought it over. Not sure why the other guy wouldn't comply with our simple request.

We had a one bedroom suite. The bed in the bedroom was okay but the fold out bed in the living room was horrible. It was not comfortable at all and my sister and I got little sleep when we were there. The suite itself is pretty nice though with a small kitchen and two bathrooms, balcony with a view and tv's in both rooms. The tv had little to choose from - TNT, CNN and some American Channel that played American TV shows like Letterman, Wheel of Fortune, etc. at odd times during the day.

Be warned that if you sit on the beach you will be constantly approached by the vendors. If you just say nicely no they will go away but if you show any interest whatsoever, they hop the rope and start showing you their merchandise. We actually went and sat on the beach (they have lounges and umbrellas there too) just so we could multitask by laying out and shopping at the same time. However, at times it was annoying.

When we checked in, they took our bags and said they would be right up but we waited and waited and had to call 2 times to get them so do not let your bags be taken by the bellboys if you don't want to have to wait.

The hotel has a nice little deli and store right on the premises. We went to the supermarket thinking we would save money but it wasn't worth the cost of the cab. We probably should have just bought the food at the little market for all the hassle of going into town to the store.
