I have stayed at Villa Del Palmar three times now and loved it each time. The people who work there are very professional and friendly. I think they take very good care of their guests. On my last trip to Villa Del Palmar, I was having a holiday by myself, a mother's respite and it was wonderful. Don't be afraid to vacation alone if you stay at Villa Del Palmar; they become like family if they know you are "soltera". Anyhow, on my last visit this March, I was more aware of my surroundings. On previous stays, there were 3 other people in our party. I never knew that Villa Del Palmar was such a noisy resort. The noise starts in the morning at 9 am with the activities around the pool and ends with the grande finale of the evening's performance at Las Tortugas, which, I need to say, runs every evening starting at 6 pm sharp. My room was at the back of the hotel, fifth floor overlooking the pool; the noise from the band is so loud that I could not carry on a telephone conversation and my patio door was shut. I had to have the TV volume up quite loud until the entertainment was over. If you are looking for peace and quiet, Villa Del Palmar is not the resort for you. I think Villa Del Palmar is a wonderful resort. It is a 'full meal deal'.

We stayed at the Villa del Palmar. We had a studio which was okay. The room was nice but nothing like a full size condo. The concierge and waiters were awesome. Very friendly and courteous. They talk you into doing a timeshare presentation. If you do it, make sure you get more than a calendar and bottle of tequila since the tequila is nasty and is a small bottle anyway. The resort was fun! Met tons of people and had a blast. Make sure you walk to the Office and Mango Deck on the beach! They were so much fun! Also try Ediths restaurant. It is a little expensive but the food is great. We thought the food by the pool at Villa del Palmar was yummy and the drinks were too. The restaurant was okay but we preferred exploring the city and trying restaurants there.

We just got back from Cabo and had a great time at VDP. Itr was a perfect place for kids. They have a kids eat free promo which provides 3 meals a day free for all of your kids, including bfs.buffet. Saves you a ton of $$$. They have 5 pools, one of which is for kids and is away from the main pool area. Keeps your kids seperated from some of the drunk and loud guests later in the day. Our kids loved the evening entertainment. Its corky lipsinging staff, but they are fun to watch and entertaining for kids. the staff loves kids and will always do their best to accomodate you. The beach is totally swimable, but bring toys for kids. Food in general is fine, nothing special. If you want a great $$$ dinner, go next door to Villa Estancia. The best restaurant in Cabo we think, but expensive...$25 a plate, but totally worth it.The Concierge is useless, only sells timeshares, but if you do the 2 hour tour you get free breakfast and 15% off almost everything in the hotel. Housekeeping is great. YES Cabo is expensive but we knew that going there. VDP is average priced. Beer about $3-5, but if you have a good time, who cares!!If you like a Booz-cruise go on the pirateship, all the drinks you want included in the $25 ticket for 2 hours!! The Spa is ok, but massages, treatments etc..are totallly up to par. They have great staff in general. We only got ripped off by the pool waiter who consistantly brought more than we ordered and charged for it.

We just got back from Cabo yesterday and we loved it! It seems that you have to go to a place one time to get the ins and outs, but for the most part we would recommend it. You definately can swim off the beach. Yes it drops off, but once you get past the wave it is great. You have to be swimming though cause you can't touch the bottom. We thought the staff was great. Everyone was very friendly. We were treated like we treated them. Cabo is not the place to go if you are looking for a deal. The food was terrific, but equilvalent to here in the States. We mostly did our own thing in the room for breakfast and lunch and bought beer and put it in our room. Don't use any of the honor bar because that is expensive. We had our shuttle driver stop on the way from the airport at a liquor store and bought beer right away. 22bucks for a case of Pacificos is a great deal we thought. When you do take a cab ride into town only give them 7 bucks or 70 pesos. Don't ask them what the fee is cause they will tell you it's more if they can get away with it. The price is legally set by the government. It is more to go to the marina, however the price is listed at the bellman's desk so you can see for yourself. Share a cab with another couple to go downtown as you pay 7 bucks for up to 4 people! Take advantage of the happy hour from 3:30 to 6. 2 for 1. We went fishing and caught a 140 lb Marlin. Great fun even if we did lose our lunch 2 times!!! You might want to touch base with us personally on how all of this works. It was a little trying at times. The whale slide isn't just for kids! The health club is 8.50 a day if you are not a goldmember, but if you take advantage of any othe the spa specials they waive that fee anyway. We did a 90 minute massage and loved it. We will be going back next year!! Everyone does want a tip there, but keep in mind that the average resort worker makes $10.00 a DAY! Yoice and it also it split up among other workers there.( this is not a mandatory charge and they will waive it if you want) We did not feel that was high as everyday they gave us towels and straightened up and were very very pleasant. As far as the pool towels go, just make sure you get them back to the towel place before they close for the day or you will be charged!!! Stay up at the pool if you don't want the vendors to bug you. At the beach, just get it in your head that you say "no gracias" if you don't want them around. They eventually get the idea. Anyway, write me if you have any questions. Make friends with a few of the key employees when you get there and they will be your friends for life. They take care of you if you are sincere with them. You get what you give!
