My wife and I tried really hard to like Pueblo Bonito Blanco, but there were just too many problems with the hotel and especially the staff.

We visited in June 2008 for an extended weekend. The first thing we noticed was that the lobby was torn up for renovations. Hotel failed to warn us. We had asked for a room with a king size bed, but were told none were available. We stayed for three nights in room 323, which had a nice balcony overlooking the flamingos. (Quickly grew accustomed to the strange sounds these birds make throughout the night, but light sleepers might have a problem.) The maid was very helpful, she even pushed the two twin beds together to make one huge bed. The other "furniture" is made out of concrete and white plaster; you will bang the heck out of your feet at least once before you get the hang of this strange arrangement.

After three days, we were rudely thrown out of room 323 by Arturo who announced that the "owner" had unexpectedly arrived. Turns out that Pueblo Bonito Blanco is a timeshare facility. You will be reminded constantly by everyone that works there; from "Grandpa" the maitre de to Elly the concierge to the young man who works the beachfront activities. (If you cannot get $200 off the price of activities for listening to a hard sale presentation, then you don't have a pulse.) Arturo tried to blame the situation on us, and then finally gave us room 518. The room had positives and negatives. A plus: it didn't have concrete furniture. A negative: like half the rooms in the hotel, this room had the bedroom located next to the walkway (think Motel 6) so every passing group will wake you up if a light sleeper. To make matters worse, the bedroom was next to the elevator which plays Mexican music all night long. The lock on the bedroom window was broken, and the hotel was unable (unwilling) to repair it.

The two dining areas served average to poor quality food for a resort. Kids should be happy, but adults will look elsewhere.

Kids seem to love the swimming pool. Many of the adults decided to brave the horde of kids rather than the constantly present (and agressive) beach vendors. The vendors really spoiled an otherwise wonderful view from the beach from chairs. Probably didn't have more than a dozen homeless people approach us the entire time we were there, and the staff was quick to intervene, except at night.

The hotel is located down several back streets from the main road, so highway noise is not a problem. Security does a good job of watching the front entrance, but I would not recommend walking the streets in the area after dark. We were very glad that we rented a car.

Cabo San Lucas is very touristy. A friend commented that every citizen of Cabo San Lucas is trained in school to sell timeshares. At first I laughed, but later I began to think he was right. Every vendor on the beach, every waiter, every store merchant, every "information" kiosk operator, every car rental agent. Even the bell boy. If the hotel can ditch the timeshares (and the staff that constantly hawk the timeshare sales), then we might consider returning. If not, then forget it.

Pst! Amigo, you want a great deal on a timeshare?

We just got back from a one week stay at the Pueblo Bonita Los Cabo. It was amazing. The resort is beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are great with a small kitchen which allowed us to cook some meals in to help with the cost of eating out. There is tons to do right on the beach. Sunbathing, boogie boarding. parasailing jetskiing etc. also good resturants iwth in walking distance on the beach or in town.We don't even rent a car while we are here. Great place to take a family. pretty quiet. Love this place. We already have our trip for next year booked.

I just got back from Cabo and stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Blanco. I was there in celebration of my 50th Birthday and had my husband and two teenagers in tow. I have been to Mexico several times, but never Cabo. The whole experience totally exceeded my expectations. The harbor and hotel were clean and shiny, the people friendly, the food and drinks were great.

We made all of our tour arrangements through Cabo San Lucas Tours. It was simple in that all of our tickets were emailed to us prior to our trip. We simply printed them out and presented them where ever we went.

Transcabo was our ride from the airport to the hotel, they were there to pick us up and bring us back on the return. We even had a private car take us back to the airport as the number of people needing a ride the day we went back was few. On arrival, the airport is a timeshare shark jungle, but if you just walk on past and give no eye contact, people leave you alone.

The hotel is beautiful. The only disappointment was that the lobby is undergoing a remodel, so we were greeted with paper and plastic trim all around the windows and a roped off lobby area. Check in was done on a desk on the outside of the hotel. It didn't ruin our stay, but it would have been nice to have a heads up about this inconvenience. We had a master room with two baths, a kitchenette and a living area. A nice, but somewhat obstructed view of the ocean. The rooms are beautifully decorated and colorful. They have two TV's and a lot of space. The hotel is also in a great location. We walked everywhere. The grounds are lovely with flamingos, bird cages and a fish pond. We did visit the Rose on our last day and even though the Blanco is older, I liked it better. It was something about the way it was oriented toward the water, the fact that the grounds were more lush and the white buildings that contrasted with the blue ocean.

We had dinner the first night at the hotel. The food was good, not great, (it might have been what I had), and the view was spectacular. At this time we were approached by an elderly gentleman with a name tag that read "grandpa". He was the time share rep., he was sweet, persistent, but not pushy. He came back several times during dinner and I mostly found him to be entertaining. It didn't bother me much, but if a person is the type that likes to be left alone, I can see where it could get annoying.

The next day was a snorkel tour on La Princesa. It was a blast. The catamaran is small, it only holds 60 max, and that day there were only 20 of us. The crew was fun and the guacamole great. The other catamarans I saw out that day were the Ecocat, and the Pez Gato. The Pez looked to be the same size as Princesa, and for some reason that day it looked very crowded. The Ecocat is newer and much more luxurious, but much larger so if you want to go with a lot of people it would be a good choice. Also, the Ecocat was out every evening in the harbor with their sunset cruise. Everyone on the beach can see the people on the boat and they look like they are having a blast. We were happy with La Princesa as we like a smaller group and I loved the open bow with the net to sit on. Dinner that night was at "The Office". The service was just OK, food OK, but the overall experience of the place was great. I loved watching the moon rise over the arch while sitting on the sand eating dinner.

The following day we did an ATV tour. Our driver was late and after some confusion we were transferred to another bus and taken out to Baja ATV. The operation is very nice. Nice equipment and a very nice waiting area. We elected to do the trip to the Mexican Village and then the beach. I'm glad we made this choice because a couple of hours on the beach might of been a little boring. We were taken up and down winding, steep roads to the village with occasional stops. The tour is guided, so there was always someone there in case you got into a jam. After the village and fun ride down a large river bed you go out to the beach for about 45 minutes. It was just enough time to enjoy it.

Our last night we elected to stay at the hotel for the Fiesta Night.
It was a great time for the whole family. We are not about bars and shooters (been there, done that), so we were entertained by the host of the show, the dancers and the fun contests. The hotel puts out a lovely Mexican buffet and I really felt that the food was good, while providing some Mexican dishes that I had never tried before.

Overall, it was a great time. Our teens loved it and so did we. I would go back to Cabo and the Pueblo Bonito Blanco any day.

I studied Trip Advisor before selecting my hotel. If you are looking for a traditional Mexican flare at a reasonable rate then this is the place for you. I on the other hand prefer more modern facilities. Because the structure of the hotel is outdoors - you get LOTS of insects in your room daily as the maid cleans the room with the doors open. This made my stay VERY uncomfortable as I was eatten alive nightly. The staff was attentive and kept the hotel clean. The bathroom was extremely small. The food was ok.

We stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos for 10 days towards the end of April. We chose the hotel based on trip advisor reviews. Once again, trip advisor has not let us down - It was fantastic. The service and friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, and the location are second to none. We really appreciated being within walking distance of shops, malls, food markets, City Club, and so many wonderful restaurants. Further, there are shuttle services to Walmart, etc. and the other hotels, which we did not utilize. We really enjoyed the beach, the hotel loungers and towel services, and there were always great seats available at the beach or pool.

We had also booked a tour to Todos Santos through the hotel's web site upon reserving. We did not realize until the night before the tour that we were supposed to phone 24 hours in advance to confirm. However, the tour company showed up as scheduled anyways! (I would recommend that you confirm 24 hours in advance - we may have got off lucky). This was a great tour by the way - pick up at 9:00 a.m. and back to the hotel by 4:00. It included a lovely lunch at a local Mexican restaurant, and the tour guide was very knowledgable. It is worth seeing this sleepy little Mexican town and the Hotel California!

We did not have a bad meal in Cabo - every restaurant we went to was great. Despite some of the reviews about the hotel's restaurant, we had two very nice dinners and two good lunches at Cilantro's. The other restaurants that we dined at during our stay included Tabascos (just down the beach), La Casa Country (great fun and food), Las Quesadillas, Sunset Da Mona Lisa (one of the best views in the world), Mi Casa, Trailer Park, and our favourite - Los Deseos which is located on the marina and serves great mexican food at a very good price. We also had a great lunch in San Jose at Shooters which is owned by a Calgarian from Canada!

The only teeny issue that we had was that we booked a deluxe suite, and did everything we were instructed to do (ie. phoning 3 days in advance) to get a good ocean view. We ended up on the 4th floor in a corner suite. We had a view of the ocean, but it was very limited. The front desk said we could check with them 3 days later to see if a room with a better view came available. After three days, we lost our energy to move and decided to stay put. If not for this, we would be giving this hotel 5 stars. AND, we will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future.
