“Pueblo Bonito a gem in the rough”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

We traveled 1/28/13 - 2/4/13 to this lovely little all inclusive gem. Last year my husband and I stayed at their sister hotel (The Rose) and enjoyed it so much that we wanted to come back. We brought 2 other couples along to share the experience with us.
We were on the All inclusive plan.
While still in love with the views and being right on the beach we did notice that there were a few changes made in the "all inclusive" that were less than satisfying to us. The biggest disappointment was not being able to get freshly made sushi for lunch anymore. Last year it was available from 2 pm into the evening. This year it was only made available starting at 6pm. In addition, last year I was able to get a clear tequila, and this year that was not available to me (even though it is less expensive).
We had a great time, the people are friendly and are willing to work with you to make your stay enjoyable. With proper management this resort could work it's way up to be one of the best. We thank Giovanni for his time and the service he provided us.
We stayed in 2 Luxury one bedroom units on the 3rd floor. Our other friends stayed at The Rose. Our room #314, was a very nice room, with a private bedroom with 2 double beds, it was very clean, with a spacious living room area with a pull out bed. The room was advertised to sleep 6 however, while there was room for 6 it would have been a nightmare. As it was, one of my biggest complaints about the room was that there was not another mirror aside from the bathroom mirror where one could get ready to go out. Could you imagine a family of 6 getting ready with one bathroom?
I love it here! The location is really the best there is in Cabo. With better management this gem will become polished once again.

Room Tip: If available ask for a room on the 4th or 5th floor. Your view won't be blocked by palm trees.

My wife and I just spent a week at this hotel in Los Cabos. We were amazed that a nice property like this is so dismanaged. Our stay went like this:

We checked in to find out there were no rooms available. We were told they would have a room the next morning by 10:00. They nicely put us up at the next door ME Hotel. The next day we go back to the hotel to find out no rooms are available until 12:45. We thought this was a small problem but then found out everyone staying there had the same problems and they had us staying all over town. This problem continued all weekend for all incoming guests.

We were an all-inclusive trip and they checked us in, took our credit card info, and then put a bracelet on. We went to dinner and they said we did not have the credit info on record and resisted charging to our room. Where are the systems?

They had a big carnival party the next night and we ordered a drink. Sorry, the bar is out of the drink mix. Next day I ordered two glasses of red wine. The bartender poured the remaining wine out of two bottles from the previous day and filled a glass and a half, then said he was out of red wine.

One night the maid showed up to clean our room at 5:30 pm.

I never saw any management at this hotel and there were no signs there were any.
This is a nice hotel, but I would not recommnend it.

Room Tip: Choose? I was happy to just get a room.

Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos’ main philosophy is to provide comfort and satisfaction to our guest, and we, the staff, work very hard to achieve that goal.
We are very sorry that in this case this reviewer experienced a different situation, but the hotel made its best effort to satisfy this reviewer during his stay. We hope that in the future our reviewer reconsiders his decision of returning to Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos, we'll be more than glad to welcome him and take care of him.

Respectfully,

We decided to extend our stay in Cabo by two nights (following our one-week at Grand Sol Mar Land's End .... paradise to the utmost!!) and thought it might be fun to try something on the "other side" of the rock. While the grounds were lovely ~ flowers/foliage/trees/live flamingos ~ there were many things that we found most unpleasant here.

The noise in our room at night from the neighbor's t.v made it impossible to sleep well.
We notified hotel management but if they followed up on our complaint, it wasn't evident.
There was also a very obnoxious sound from the outside air conditioners so, unfortunately,
falling asleep listening to the waves on the beach just couldn't happen.

The rooms were very clean but BADLY in need up updating!! Lobby/entrance is beautiful but had a strange odor (possibly from cleaning solutions??). Yikes. For this price, they could - and should - do MUCH, much better. Our in-room coffee maker didn't heat up; I asked to have a complimentary pot of coffee sent up; we received an old Proctor Silex coffee maker instead.
Hmmm. Less than ideal customer service.

Poolside/beach chairs were plastic and cushions were very worn and uncomfortable.

Nice location along Medano Beach .... easy access to parasailing, paddle boarding and other water activities.

It would be nice to welcome guests with a letter explaining what the two restaurants are serving and/or other daily activities. We found out too late about the "cocktail making" class and the "lobster/shrimp" dinner night. Missed out on both.

All-in-all, this is a very average to somewhat subaverage hotel considering other options in the area.

First off, it's with a heavy heart that I can only give the Pueblo Bonito 3 stars. I've stayed there about 5 times now, and my most recent stay may be my last.
The location is the best in Cabo - on Medano Beach, you can walk to town...
The hotel is fairly quiet (unlike the Me Hotel and Nikki Beach next door which would be a nightmare if you are over 25), the rooms are fine (could use a major overhaul, but clean and spacious), the food is fine, especially if you order lunch at the pool/beach, service is friendly, but poorly trained. They definitely try to give you the time share sell, but you can avoid it if you see it coming.
When we arrived last week, we were told they were overbooked and we would have to stay at the Rose next door. I had reserved 3 one-bedroom ocean view suites (all the rooms at the Los Cabos are ocean view) for my family. Instead they had us in a 2 bedroom suite and one regular room for 6 people that were on opposite sides of the floor. The 2 bedroom suite was nice, nor did we want a regular room - both without ocean views. When I complained later to the manager - she agreed to give me a $200 credit and breakfast for 4 at the hotel restaurant. When 3 of us showed up for breakfast on Sunday before we left, they told us we could only have the eggs and pancakes from the buffet, not the rest of the buffet - fine, but then when we ordered waters, told us we would have to pay for them. WTF? Where is the customer service in this place. Then, the last night, after we had used credit cards at the restaurant, spa and stores the whole time, they put a note under the door with a hotel credit - not a credit to my credit card. I had to spend another 30 minutes going from the Blanco to the Rose and back to try to sort it out (I finally got the credit).
The management in this place needs to get on it, or they are going to scare away all their loyal customers.

We are very sorry that this reviewer, after 5 times of staying in Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos, has changed his mind about our staff and management. Our main goal is our guest’s satisfaction and we are very sorry for the misunderstanding with his reservation and credit.
Our staff works very hard to render an excellent service to our guests and our philosophy of guest’s satisfaction has always characterized us.

This comment will be shared with all the Pueblo Bonito Rosé’s staff and we will continue striving for the excellence in service.

Yours cordially,

Goyita Osako, Hotel GM

Manicured grounds and squeaky clean rooms. Staff constantly busy taking care of things. Stayed in both Presidential suite and 1 bedroom suite on our visit. Updated appliances. Nice bathrooms with good water pressure. TV's were not newer flat screen type but we don't go to Mexico to watch television. Close to all activities, eateries/bars on Medano Beach and an easy walk to the marina. Awesome sunrises. We will be back.

This was our second year of visiting the Pueblo Bonito resorts. This year six of us traveled together. The first week four of us stayed at the Rosé and the other couple stayed in their time share at the Blanco. The accommodations at the Rosé were spacious and beautiful, and our stay was extremely comfortable. The second week one couple left and we moved into the Blanco with our friends. That also, although not quite as luxurious was phenomenal. The views from the Blanco were exceptional. We could see Lands End and the music from the boats and other restaurants filtered up into our room which gave us the true romantic feel of Mexico. We took advantage of the All-Inclusive which we found to be an exceptional value.

The employees of the resort were exceptional. Ishmael, Javier and Armando of the various restaurants were very friendly. Visit Ishmael at the Sushi Bar and enjoy his wonderful art of making excellent cocktail. Visit Javier at the Rosé Mare Nostrum Restaurant and ask for a Mexican coffee, not only is the coffee delicious but the show he puts on while preparing it is an attraction all in itself. And visit Armando at Paloma's and receive wonderful and excellent service.

16 days of getting up to watch the incredible sunrises, lounging by the pool, walking on the beach, trips into town, riding through the desert on ATV's, parasailing and best of all fishing with Raphael's Fleet on the 1/2 Loco where we caught Yellow Fin tuna, Mahi Mahi, and yes, a 200 lb Marlin! It all made for a wonderful vacation...Can not wait until we go back next year...only 49 weeks to go...

Room Tip: The Blanco has a more Mexican feel. It has better views than the Rosé although the Rosé has more el...
