“Beautiful, quiet Mexico escape!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Quite pleased with recent week spent at Pueblo Bonito Blanco. Started it off again with Cielito Lindo, private transportation (pick you up at airport/private Tahoe-type car/trip to Mega/show you cool things all the way to hotel/pick you up at end) for $158 + tip and worth every penny. Went to Mega to get drinks and food for breakfast and lunch for the week (saved lots of money!). All items get dropped off at lobby and hotel guys deliver up to room as we are getting settled in. Beautiful ocean view from 6th floor one bedroom suite. Plenty of space in the room and enjoyed the little kitchenette. It only had a little fridge, but it worked out great! Didn't have a lot of kitchen cookware, but enough for us to make it work and eat good. One bedroom suite worked well for the 2 of us as someone who likes to sleep in (me) can be in bedroom while the other enjoys the sunrise in living room/kitchen area. Bathroom small, shower small, but totally doable. Only disappointment was the balcony, as it had enough room for only 2 chairs and we had no roof over head (so on a rainy day, it was soaking wet out there). But still had a pretty view.

Stayed at PB Sunset Beach last year (GORGEOUS), but we loved that this resort is right on the (swimmable) beach, has lots of restaurants nearby, ocean access steps away from pool access. Really nice people on staff. Housekeeping was so sweet and happy. Check in was the easiest we've had in years. Staff at Rose and Blanco were always smiling and helpful.

Didn't eat much at hotel; not the best. Ate at Mango Deck (truly fun, crazy experience) and a couple other great places nearby. Enjoyed the pool service (and Jay and a couple others were awesome). Also enjoyed the activities for the first time ever; played bingo, volleyball and gave people stuff to watch when pool got quiet. Pool layout at the Rose kind of forces you to check out all the people; so we enjoyed the Blanco pool as it was more relaxing and quiet.

Would recommend this hotel. Love the location. This is all location, location, location. Not as grand as PB Sunset, but if you want to walk to town, swim in ocean, walk to other bars, this is the BEST!

We can't say enough good things about this beautiful facility from housekeeping right up to management. Everything was perfect. Our check-in was made easy with Teresa at the front desk, our waitstaff was attentive, courteous and helpful. Beachside and at the pool we were taken care of with David and Jay. The food and its presentation...WOW! The nighttime entertainment was fun and guest were invited to participate, a good time.

Room Tip: Floors 3-5 are better.

I just returned from PB Blanco (Los Cabos) and it was wonderful! Loved the spot on the beach - great access to anything you want to do and the view is amazing. The rooms a little outdated but they were nice, clean and the bed was comfortable. Not sure what more you need for a room you won't spend much time in. The staff was fantastic - I think they all knew my name by the second day. They have fun activities throughout the day by the pool - Mexican Lottery (la lotteria!!!), Poker, Pool and Beach Volleyball... lots of options. Stuff for both kids and adults as well. There were VERY few kids at the resort - I think I saw maybe a total of 5 in my 5 days there. I ended up doing a timeshare presentation at the PB Sunset Beach for a bunch of gifts including a discounted rate on the AI price for 3 days. I ended up taking the AI after realizing I was absolutely going to sit by the pool and enjoy the delicious food and cervezas all day long. 110% worth it, especially at the discounted price I received. The presentation took almost twice as long as they said it would but the Sunset Beach property is gorgeous, a bit isolated, but gorgeous, so it was fun to see and worth a few hours during the hottest part of the day. All the guests I met were very friendly, happy to chat and give recommendations or answer any questions you may have. I met tons of people who go to Blanco every year and stay for extended periods, that really says something. They love it and I did too!

I would recommend bringing water shoes or tennis shoes - something other than sandals to walk on the beach with. The sand is VERY coarse and my feet were extremely sore after a not very long walk.

Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would go back again.
• Location: Awesome – 5 stars. Right on the Medano beach with views of Lovers Beach. We can do all the water activities right there and walk to Mango deck in 3 min. 10 min walk to downtown where all the night life is or $6 cab. Very very convenient. The view is spectacular every day!
• Room: 4 stars. Henoc is very friendly and always there at the front desk and if you mention Tripadvisor and give him a good reason, he will try to give you a free upgrade to a better room. We got an upgrade and had a nice ocean view with larger space. The room arrangement felt a little weird at first. The bedroom is separate with no views and the living and dining area has the view to the ocean, but it turned out better as hubby can watch TV in living room and I can sleep well in the bedroom. I give 4 stars though as our safe broke twice. We ended up just giving up using it. Nothing was lost, more of a hassle to keep asking it to be fixed. Our shower broke once but they fixed it in 20 min so no big deal. Beds were comfortable enough. Only have double beds – okay by us as we can snuggle in one if we want to or sleep separately if we want more space.
• Food: 4 stars. Lots of varieties. Love the fact we can do a la carte or buffet. At probably 5 times a day as we had the all inclusive deal (recommend this – great for my low carb diet) They asked us to make reservations but given Oct is not high season, we didn’t and got in everywhere with no issues. We love the buffet breakfast in Mare Nostrom in the Rose with made to order eggs and they made me egg benedict twice even though it’s not on the menu. We love doing lunch at Cilantro overlooking the ocean or at the pool at Rose hotel. Delicious food. Fish ceviche at Cilantro is awesome!! Sushi bar is pretty good especially if you stick to Tuna. We had Tuna Sashimi Serrantino, Fried Rice and Calamari. Others say the other fishes are not as good so we didn’t try. Dinner buffet are usually good with variety. You can also order a grill for two with all kinds of meat on it. They also deliver food to the room until 1am for a $5 charge. That was useful as we get hungry at night and there is no food option except that after 10pm. Only complaint is lots of flies and bugs in some areas of Mare Nostrom. Makes me wonder if all the food is clean if they left it open. We had a little stomach issue one day but it was mild and passed. Not sure it was from the food or the heat.
• Service: 3.5 stars. I think if you don’t tip extra, you will get a 3 star experience. Service is slower and less prompt. We decided to tip often about $50 total for a week and service was much better. Waiter will remember your drink order from the day before and will also bring you a ice bucket for your water by the pool. I dislike the fact that service is different based on tips but understand why it’s that way, I guess since this hotel is not all all inclusive. The mix makes the service inconsistent.
• Entertainment: 3 stars. Best night was sat night Carnival night. Show is spectacular and well worth it. Other nights are pretty dead. Day time activities at the Rose are somewhat entertaining – water aerobic class is a bit better than at our hotel + volleyball + contests. Wish they played more music.
• Pool: 5 stars for the pool at the Rose. The size is awesome and perfect 3 – 3.5 feet deep. Love the cabanas which you can get if you go early. No extra charge. The pool at our hotel is smaller but also good.
• Clientele: seems to have more older 45 – 60+ year old crowd and out of shape. 30% younger crowd. We didn’t mind it as it’s quiet and we can go into town for partying but would have like more eye candies at the pool. 
We will stay here again. Rooms have a better view and about the same price at the Rose. WE paid $2715 for round trip SFO to Cabo, hotel and all inclusive  for Sat to Sat stay. If you know better deals, let me know 
Tips
- $32 massage 5 min walk to the right on the beach. Just look for the big Massage sign. Awesome deal and good
- Cabo escape sunset Fajita cruise is fun with lots of dancing. Can get it for $35 a person down the beach, not at the hotel.
- Everything is negotiable 
- Private taxi to and from airport $126 + tip from Cielito lindo. Pretty good.
- No need for spike heels as most dress very casual. Platform sandals are nice if you want to dress up one night.

Room Tip: rooms with number under 20 may have better views of lovers beach, e.g, 420.. We had 527 and it onl...

We stayed here this year after staying last year at the Rose. The Blanco offers a better view but the rooms are nicer at the Rose. Would definitely stay here again though. The staff are great and having the Rose next door is great. Love going up to the Sunset for the day too.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor in the center of the resort

Just got back from spending 2 weeks here. Loved it. Great location - 15 minutes to walk to town. Did end up doing the timeshare presentation (to Sunset Resort - which was beautiful) to get discounts on the all inclusive and several tours. I just told the guy right up front that we weren't interested and were only there for the discounts, so it was fairly quick and no pressure. Having the all inclusive was nice as it is fairly expensive here for food and drinks and after it was over I think we only ate at the resort once and had a few drinks - so many great places in town to go to for dinners. Having a kitchen in our unit was great - we made our own breakfasts every morning that we weren't all inclusive and several lunches as well. We also took our own drinks down to the pool as well. Staff was awesome - no problems at all. Our room was spotless and beautiful view. Loved Frankie at the door - was always willing to help and so friendly. Food at the resort was good - had no complains there - My husband went fishing one day as well and brought the fish back to the kitchen at the resort and they made us up a fabulous meal with our own fish for only $11.00 / plate - it was great!!! Loved that we got to use facilities at The Rose and Sunset as well. There was a free bus that went back and forth every hour to/from the Sunset - we went over there one day and had drinks and swam in the Sky Pool and watched the Sunset - breathtaking. Such a great perk. Weather was great the whole time we were there except for the day we were leaving - but that was OK. You could tell the rain from Hurricane Mirian had damaged some of the local roads, but overall there was no affect from it for us. Did lots of activities and had a great time - would definitely stay here again. Loved it.

Room Tip: the higher up the better for great views - but it looked like all the rooms faced the ocean - you ju...

My husband and I traveled to Cabo in September for the first time to celebrate my 40th birthday. We had an amazing experience at the Pueblo Bonito. Yahir at the front front desk was absolutely welcoming! We had the most breath-taking view from our potion on the second floor. The only annoying thing about our stay were the Mosquitos in the living area, bathroom, and bedroom. We killed Mosquitos very night and chose not to have housekeeping clean our room during our stay. They clean with the doors open and we were afraid we'd have even more Mosquitos in the room. We decided not to go all-inclusive and instead ate lunch and dinner in town every day. The cab ride was very reasonable at $6 each way. We walked to town only one day, but it was too hot and humid to do it again. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Pueblo Bonito. The pool was never crowded and It was so peaceful at night. We sat out on our patio quite often to have a drink and enjoy the oven view. We will definitely be back!!!
