“A nest of thieves and scummers. For your own sake ovoid this place”
My wife and I were approached during our last Christmas vacation to Mexico (Dec 21012) by a Mexican man named Ariel in a restaurant. After a little conversation about a Los Cabos areas he proposed to us to pay $30 for a simple visit to country club in exchange of two days free car rental and snorkeling excursion. I was skeptical because it sounded too good to be true but the man looked very nice and convincing. Two days later he picked us up from our hotel and to the country club. The place was really old and deserted; the parking lot was almost empty, very few guests in the lobby but a lot of smiley salesman faces. A young lady took all our information and asked us to show a credit card. We have been told we were going to be given a 90 min presentation and have our gifts after that. A man by the name of Ephraim explained the vacation program membership which consisted of paying around $22,000 for 4 weeks discounted hotel places around the world and showed us some nice and colorful pictures of hotels around the world then he introduced us to the manager, a Canadian citizen from BC named Cindy. We told her right away that we would not be able to make a decision, she said if we took the deal today she would drop $10,000 and waive the taxes!!!! We started to get really suspicion about this business and we insisted we needed more time to think about it. She said that she could even give us any size of a room if we sign a deal today and pay $4000 deposit on our credit card . We insisted we wanted to leave she then said she would not be able to honor our gift if we don’t sign a deal today. After fighting for almost another 20 min we were let go. We were so happy to get out that place we didn’t even ask for the $30 refund nor to pay the taxi back to our hotel.
