We chose PBR because of the close proximity to Medano and Downtown. Everything is within easy walking distance.

The service at Rose was excellent from beginning to end. You get the feeling that the employees are happy there and it is their pleasure to serve you. Our questions and requests were always given prompt attention and the housekeeping was excellent.

The facility was very nice but a little big for our taste. This is the only reason I didn't give an "excellent" rating. We were in room 5014, halfway between elevators, and it took forever to get to the beach or out the front door. The room numbers get smaller as you get closer to the beach so I will remember that if I return and I will ask to be a little closer to the elevator. Our room also happened to be located right above the aviary and the birds woke me up every morning about 5:30.

Cleanliness is important to me and I was very pleased with this aspect of the resort. The pool area was hosed down daily and the pool bathrooms were always clean. Tables and chairs were kept clean (except for a little bird poop on the beach lounges but I can tolerate that) and even the sand was free of garbage and cigarette butts (only saw a couple of butts). And, of course, our room was immaculate each day after the housekeeper had been there. She even washed our dishes!

The beds had a pillowtop and were very comfortable - not too firm, not too soft. I slept very comfortably.

Unless you have a cell phone, there is no way to get around paying a fee of some sort to call home. We have always been prepared with the proper calling card in order to make call to the US and avoid extra charges. This was impossible to do this trip so next time we'll get the service on our cell phones and skip Mexican operators.

We prefer laying around on the beach but I did use the pool and was impressed with the cleanliness of the water and tile. I did not even see that usual sunscreen film that covers the water nor did I find scum on the tile. I was very happy with that! The water was way too warm on the first day but, due to the colder nights, the temp was much more pleasant for me later in the week. I like the colder temp but no one else did so I pretty much had the pool to myself in the mornings!

Anything you might need in a pinch is available at the little store near the lobby. As small as it was, they really tried to provide all the amenities and on some days, you might find an item that you didn't find before. There was a nice pastry/deli in the store, as well.

The food and drinks we ordered outside were typically priced and par for resort service. Food was good, mixed drinks weak but tasty (only do 2 for 1) and service was always very good.

We felt we got our money's worth and would stay there again if the price was right. I would not choose them first only because of the size of the resort - maybe PB Blanco would suit us better. But we will definitely consider PBR when making travel plans.

I thought that Pueblo Bonito Rose was a very nice property, but I probably wouldn't stay there again for minor reasons.

Liked: location, location, location!! It's close to the beach bars and a short walk into town (marina and downtown). $6 taxi ride at night if you don't want to walk in heels. The grounds are gorgeous, but there's too much shade around the pool. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Service was ok, but not great. Plenty of counter space in bathroom. Let us get a late check-out (1 hour later). I loved the spa!!!!!!! We got a couple's massage and it was AMAZING. Then later in the day, my girlfriend and I went back and sat in the whirpool and swiss shower, cold dunk, steam room...etc. Truly amazing!!

Didn't like: The pool area is very quiet because there's no beach bar to sit around. There's no swim up bar.....no music playing. so if you are looking for an active and fun place, it's not for you. I prefer the roudy pools with music playing and people laughing. I didn't like that there wasn't a whirlpool at all. That was very disappointing. I liked the rooms, but the "suite" description in our experience was deceiving in terms of the frig. They had it stocked with stuff so you had to move things around to fit anything in it. We went to store and bought food, but couldn't buy much refrigerated stuff....which defeats the purpose of having a "suite". There was no freezer. So if you're staying at this hotel for the suite, upgrade to a "real" suite....they had big refrigerators in their rooms. I also didn't like that there wasn't a full length mirror in the rooms. There is only one mirror over the sink. I like another place to put my make-up on and check my outfite before going out. That's a dumb reason not to like it, but someone else might be looking for more mirrors too. Our friends got charged for stuff that they didn't do, but it was straightened out. It wasn't a bad experience at this hotel by any means, but I wasn't SO in love that I'd have to stay here again. If you don't travel a lot and don't have super high expectations, you'll LOVE this place. My boyfriend and I travel a lot and this was just ok to us. Location would be the only reason I'd go back.

Cabo is the coolest place I've ever been and I can't wait to go back. My boyfriend and I are in our thirties and like to party, shop, lay in the sun and eat great food...this is the place for us! I wouldn't recommend Cabo to people in their twenties.....it's definitely a more mature crowd of people that still like to get crazy.

Cabo has NO humidity...I loved that!

Cabo Wabo, El squid Roe, Giggling Marlin and the Nowhere bar are the bars to visit!

I have a rule of not visiting the same place over and over, but I will make an exception for Cabo...it's the coolest place!!!!!!

We decided on this hotel because it's right on a safe swimming beach and close enough to town to walk to (or if you are lazy or it's late you can take a cab for 6 bucks). I cannot say enough great things about it! We requested a room with a view of the pool and got it with no problem. The pool is heated perfectly and with two happy hours a day it's easy to enjoy drinks poolside (they make them strong here!) If you want a chair at peak hours wake up early and throw a towel over them. They fill up fast! This hotel also has chairs set up on the beach behind a chain to keep the venders away from you. But if you want to shop from them, simply step over the chain and you'll be approached constantly! I recommend the second row of beach chairs. You get a little more privacy. Wherever you sit you get a personal waiter that brings you drinks and food from a full menu. It was nice cuz the on site restaurants were a little pricy. You can charge everything to your room which was great. The bills are in pesos so brush up on your conversion rates! The hotel staff was the nicest I have met anywhere. They always opened doors and helped us out whenever we needed them. The hotel has cabs waiting on call right outside the gates. Just tell the guy outside you want one and one comes in seconds! The hotel also has a room to safely store your luggage which is helpful since they won't let you check in until 4 and make you check out by 10 am! The rooms are beautiful. They are very clean and I love the tile floors cuz they are always cool and you can walk on them wet! The beds are a little small but we put two people in each of them without major problems. The water pressure in the showers was pretty good! The water pressure in the toilets was just ok. The colors are bright and fantastic! The grounds take your breath away. Everything is clean and wonderful. I definitely recommend this hotel.
Tip: Some rooms are far from the elevators. We took the stairs which let us out right near ours but if you can't do stairs, request a room near an elevator.

The stay was part of a timeshare given to us for our honeymoon so I can't really say what kind of a value it was, but the room was absolutely beautiful and the staff was polite and very helpful. A big storm came through right as we were about to leave and there was a chance we might have gotten stranded there and they were going to discount the room 50% if we had to extend our stay due to the weather. This resort has one of the only walk out on to the beach locations where you walk right by the pool, if you want to, and go to the beach. The food was pretty good, though a little overpriced. Overall, we had a great experience.

  • Liked — the rooms were beautiful and a lot more luxurious than where we have stayed elsewhere.
  • Disliked — how expensive the food was

In the fall of 2004, my best friend and I made our first tip to Cabo and stayed at the PB Rose. We found the hotel through a web search and booked through our travel agent. The hotel was everything we expected and more. Both of us are extremely picky about the hotels we stay in and the Rose was perfect. The rooms were clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated.

We mostly went into town for our meals but did have several delicious breakfasts and a couple of light snacks at the pool. One of the highlights of our stay was the night of my birthday when we ate at Mare Nostrum for their Italian buffet.....IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!

The pool area was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and very accommodating.

We are planning another trip for this October and are planning to stay there again.......repeat business is the best compliment!!!!!!
