We had a great stay at the Pueblo Bonito Rose. We stayed first at a small hotel in town and finished our vacation at the Rose as they call it. Checking into this place was a breath of fresh air, literally. It is located right on the beach on a spot that I thought was just perfect. The room was nice and looked like very authentic Mexico. The room was clean and the service was nice throughout the Hotel.

My only complaint about the hotel was there are people that work or hang out at the hotel that try to get you to go to timeshare presentations which we relunctantly did. Forget the free gifts, and focus on enjoying your vacation. The water is rougher as you go away from the harbor on the beach and seemed to be quite dangerous. However, in front of the Rose was relatively calm.

We loved sunset cruise, Nicksan sushi, and the Office Restaurant. We will be back hopefully.

Pueblo Bonito Rose was a great hotel for those looking for stuff to do all day. There were activities all day long (water volleyball, water aerobics, danicing) however I went jsut to relax. It is not the quiestest of hotels, atleast til about 10 when everyone leaves for the bars!!! (it is right on the bumping Playa El Medano) ( It was also spring break time while we where there!)
The hotel was very clean. The kitchenettes inside the rooms were great for making breakfast and lunch, which saved us a lot of $$$. We also hit up happy hour at the pool which was 2 for 1 which was great for our budgets and our thirst!!! They had a pillow menu which I wish i took advantage of...5 different types of pillows aside from the ones in your room! The hotel restaurant Fellinis was very yummy, the staff was super friendly and not too overpriced compared to the resaturants on the beach (ex the office which was also great)The pool was great(huge and great warm temp) and they were more than helpful at the conceirege desk for help with day trips like snorkeling (go with Pez Gato company if you go...they were great!).
The other thing is...I dont think it is that big of a deal to be on a beach you can swim at ...this pool was so great we only went in the ocean the day of snorkeling and kayaking!
I would go back again to this hotel with a group of girlfriends, however if I go back to Cabo with my boyfriend I will try to stay somewhere a little bit more romantic/peaceful!!!
and P.S. have USD single bills on you....everyone is working for a tip (whether it is bellboy, maidservice or someone helping with information about Cabo! it was hard for us when the pesos come in $100 bills which is $10 USD, when we jsut wanted to leave only $2 USD tip!)
one more thing, jsut becase the movie stars go to Cabo does not mean Downtown is like Rodeo drive....the area of Cabo San lucas are still up and coming ...so there is a lot of constuction in the area, both down town and at all the resorts. It is also Mexican desert so the roads are still dirt except for the main road..The town is full of liltte bars that have been there for years and are not much to look at but you can have a great time in any one of them...the restaurnts around the marina are great and look a lil bit more new
(my pictures were a shock to some of my friends who thought Cabo was all resort and only for the rich and famous!!!!
I think Cabo is great for anyone who either wants to go to relax or party hard!!! despite their budget)

I stayed in the hotel the first week of March. The room was clean and large, the gym was never crowded and had a lot of equipment, the beach had plenty of chairs and lots of wait staff service all day, and the hotel was in the perfect location. I plan to go back again next year and highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed 1 week at the Pueblo Bonito Rose in January 2007. The staff was very friendly and courteous, the restaurants on the property had outstanding food, the resort provided lots of daily activities, the pool was nice as well as the beach, and the spa was wonderful! The location is within easy walking distance to town area. Would definitely stay there again.

I've only just discovered this web site, so I'm reviewing the hotels I've stayed in that past few years. We stayed at PB Rose in Cabo in November 2004. It was our first trip with our new baby, who was 6 months old at the time.

Wow, we had such a great time there! While we found Cabo too expensive to go back to, the people at PB were fantastic. I find places like Mexico and Italy to be much more child-tolerant in general than the US and the PB staff just doted on our son. Many of the young women who worked there wanted to hold him and play with him and he flirted with them shamelessly.

We had a junior suite and we requested a crib. While the crib was a little too rickety for me to feel comfortable with him sleeping in it, he often sat in it, bolstered up by pillows, and played with his toys. The maid would always set his toys up in little scenes and designs when she cleaned. I wish I had taken a picture of that! We brought our big Graco stroller, where the seat lays flat, so he slept in that instead of the crib, which was fine. We also used it as a high chair. Don't be afraid to bring your full-size stroller! People never failed to be helpful through security, etc.

The pool was quite warm, even for the baby and he enjoyed lounging on the poolside chairs.

We went to the local big box store (I think it's Sams Club) and bought a big tray of shredded beef, a bunch of tortillas, eggs, cheese, watermelon, and bags of avocados, kiwis, and limes. We had delicious Mexican roll-ups every morning. That saved a lot of money.

The little grocery store on the grounds is great for last-minute things, but a bit expensive, especially if you feel you must have imported American foods. But the deli there is fabulous and so are the pastries. We had coffee and pastries most days.

We only had one bad experience there and that was at a restaurant recommended by the PB staff. They were quite rude to us and I think they weren't happy to have a baby in the restaurant. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but we let the PB staff know at the time how we were treated. Other restaurants we ate at were fine.

I was a little worried about travelling with a baby, but it turned out to be a wonderfully relaxing week, which we both really needed after 6 months of adjusting to being parents! I highly recommend it!
