4/15-4/22/06. 2 families in two rooms – four adults (three of us 15 plus years hotel experience each) and two kids under 3 years old.. Booked via PBR's website and received a 5% discount of best rates that included non-stop from Oakland, CA to Los Cabos. $2500 for two adults, one child - included flights and 7-night hotel. We consider this a great deal since it was spring break and the east side of Mexico was really in low demand due to 05's hurricanes.

Booked Greyline private van through hotel for $95 each way via concierge from airport to hotel - seamless.

CLEANLINESS: Hotel was VERY CLEAN, and we have high standards. Poolside, bathrooms, the rooms, public areas - A+.

ROOMS: We had a kitchen but got stuck with a mini-fridge. Our friends had the same room and got a Fridge. Since we cooked in-room the lack of fridge was a big issue (bought a cooler). Request a room with a fridge! We shopped at CITY CLUB - which as big as any costco (which also happens to eb in town). City Club was a 5-minute walk and we grabbed a cab back with $300 in booze & food ($2 daily membership). Rooms had good size, very comfortable feather top bed, TV with HBO, partial water views, nice bathroom, a safe, all kitchen items (*including a blender)

PUBLIC AREAS: Pools where great, although on 5 feet at the deepest. They had a great little kids section. We did not eat on-site much, except poolside – which was fine. Drinks by the pool where $7 (2 for 1 at happy hour). But we just hauled a small cooler poolside and had out own (see blender above). Internet café is great with free wireless. They had a deli, which was easy but pricey. The Spa was $90++ for a 50 minute message, but man was it nice. The have a Swedish shower and cold Jacuzzi tubs – great atmosphere. You can take the shuttle from PBR to Pueblo Sunset and use their pools –I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you do this for a day. The pools up there are great. The beach was nice – although it is one of the few swimable beaches in Cabo it still has a good undercurrent. Not bad for an adult, but not for kids.

TIME SHARE: We took the time share tour of Pueblo Sunset. It was low pressure to go – medium pressure once you got there. We got a bunch of drink coupons, $150 food credit and $60 spa credit. They said 90 minutes, but it was more like 3 hours. I would not do it again, but to each there own.

OVERALL: We felt very safe. It was clean, staff was very friendly. We picked PBR because of the beach and we did not want to be a $40 cab ride from town by being out on the corridor. We would go back. Babysitter though hotel - $12 an hour plus $10 for cab – we had Patty from deli two nights – she was great.

FOOD: Nick San: Awesome if you like Japanese (we do). Panchos – was fine but not great value for price. Mi Casa (town square) – best meal all week – LOVED IT. The Office was fun for drinks and Edith’s Café LOOKED good.

CABO: Lover beach via glass bottom boat. Walk the beach towards the OFFICE - $10 per person – good day trip. Pirate Ship – not so fun and not good for kids, snorkeling is ok at best in Cabo. Scuba: Amigos Del Mar 624.143.0505, These guys were great and had a better operation than others I saw. We done Land End & Pelican Rock - sea lions, white tip sharks – it was good.

The resort is very pretty and updated, though rather too big for my taste. All the staff were friendly, helpful and spoke English well. The pool was beautiful and warm, and the beach clean. The hotel restaurants were mediocre at best, and overpriced. The worst part about the trip was being hounded constantly by all manner of persons asking you to attend a timeshare presentation. It started at the airport and didnt end until we flew out! It got to the point that I was suspicious of anyone being friendly!! Also annoying was the near constant flurry of vendors on the beach; they even bother you when you're eating at beachfront restaurants---this is not a place for privacy and peace. Also the town is quite dull with NO cultural or natural attractions. Wouldnt return to Cabo again.

It was my first time in Mexico and I had no idea what to expect. All I knew was that I wanted to go somewhere away from the crazy "Cancun" scene, but not too isolated.
Arriving at the hotel - beautiful- the only thing I didn't like was a lady right away asking if we wanted to listen to information about another hotel and eat breakfast there (which some would, but not us). Right away though, all the employees seem to really want to help you and just seemed genuinly polite.
As we were done checking in we had a little bit until our room was ready. We walked down by the beautiful pool surrounded by lush plants and two huge cages of love birds and what not. The view from the beach was increible: pretty much staring straight at the rocky arch and cove that Cabo is known for.
*Room* : Considering that everything else was nice I had some feeling the room wouldn't be...but it was! The tile floor, comforting furniture and cozy beds (plus beautiful views) made everything wonderful! It was awesome to wake up to the birds every morning.
*Beach*: The beach was beautiful and unlike the pacific side, you CAN swim in it; and there are so many activities. There are many vendors selling local things, but if you look at it the positive way- they are just trying to survive, so bare with them

Most of all I want to give props to the employees at the Puebloe Bonito Rose. It seemed like everyone was V.I.P. And not just that, they truly were sincere and hard-working. It was cool how they seemed to appreciate if you give a shot at the spanish language - they'll help you out!

Only one thing we didn't like: limited towels (Not bad, huh?)

>>>>I definitely reccommend this hotel! ;)

(I don't know if my pictures worked, but if not- wait- they will eventually)

We just got back from a one week stay at the Pueblo Bonito Rose with our three children (ages 13, 12 and 7). We had a great time and loved the hotel. It was important to us that we could walk to town (which we did every day) and to be on a swimmable beach (which we also used every day). Everything was very clean, the grounds were beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The first day we went over to the Pueblo Bonito Blanco resort (right next door) and decided that it was the better pool for us. The water was much warmer, and there were always chairs available (can't say either was true at the Rose). But, being just a sidewalk away, it worked out well for us.

The only thing that was a suprise to us was the prices of the food. Our first morning there was a Sunday, and we went down to the buffet for breakfast. It was $34 a person, and my 12 and 13-year olds were considered adults... Outrageous. The other days the breakfast buffet was $16 apiece (I think) - still expensive, but less shocking. We bought cereal and milk and had breakfast in the room most mornings after that.

But it was a great vacation, and I would recommend the Pueblo Bonito to others visiting Cabo San Lucas.

My boyfriend and I chose the Pueblo Bonito Rose after researching hotels extensively. It was important for us to be close to town, and have a swimmable beach. First of all, the hotel was close to town, but the walk was a little difficult, not the hotels fault, as the sidewalks were uneven and small, but it was safe and easy to navigate around.
The hotel itself was very beautiful, and for the most part the service was phenomenal. Clemente at the poolside bar is wonderful, very quick and eager to please. The service was good I will say, but only after you realize that you are in Mexico and things are going to be a little bit slower, that's just how it is.
The hotel restaurant was good, the few times we ate there we were extremely impressed. The drinks were wonderful, the pina colladas and their specialty the chiquita banana were the best drinks we found over the course of the entire trip. Just make sure to take advantage of happy hour which is daily from 2-4 where drinks are 2 for the price of one.
The only negative things I can say about the hotel were housekeeping and the security guards at night. To begin with, the first 2 days of our stay (we stayed for 6 nights/7 days) we had absolutely no housekeeping until we called at 6 pm for someone to come tidy up our room. The first night we were ok with it, the second night we wondered what the problem was. The third night, housekeeping didn't come until 5 pm, and by that time we were a little irritated.
As for the security outside the hotel. The first 3 nights we had absolutely no problem whatsoever getting into the premisis as long as we showed our room key and said the lastname on the room. The fourth night however, since the room was in my boyfriend's name and the woman at the front desk had never asked mine (the room was reserved for 2 people) they had mistakenly put the names for the inhabitants of the room as my boyfriend's first name and his middle name, so they thought 2 men were staying in the room. The first 3 nights this hadn't been brought up, so the fourth night, this man was lecturing us about how he shouldn't be bringing a girl back to his room and how I couldn't come in. This infuriated me as I'd been there all week and it was like he was passing judgment on me. They were absolutely not apologetic as it was their mistake and acted like I should have known to have my name on the room as well.
My advice out of this situation? Make sure that the front desk writes down the names of all the people staying in your room. It will save you from a future headache.
All in all, this was an ok resort, the pool was absolutely freezing and the ocean was lined with vendors, but it was asthetically pleasing. The room was alright. My boyfriend and I won't be coming back, not due to the resort being a bad experieince persay, just the fact that there are plenty of other better resorts in the area for the same price.
