First things first (and what many don't know about a LOT of Cabo), this "hotel" is really a timeshare facility and many of the guests are owners or friends of owners or renters or, like us, just using it like a regular hotel. It certainly FEELS just like a regular hotel (and this is true of many facilities in Cabo San Lucas). Now, that said, this isn't a criticism as such because if you didn't know who to talk to about this you simply wouldn't know.
And before I get into the hotel itself, an additional word or two on the timeshare process. Yes, they are somewhat aggressive but it's not bad. Where it is the WORST is immediately outside the last security (x-ray) check-in point just before you get to the outside world where the shuttles and/or buses are to be found. There is a bank of desks where someone will try to immediately escort you to them to sign you up. I'd take a pass if I were you, but it's not that big a deal to accept an offer really. We decided to do just that (and later found that the offers varied depending on the desk you were at as well as who you were). Anyway, they will try to get you to go to a presentation at the relatively new Pueblo Bonito Pacifica (on the Pacific side and a bit out of the town itself)... and you'll be lured for a 75 minute presentation (that is relatively low-key) with a dinner cruise, free dinner and about $40 in cash. The presentation was fairly low-key UNLESS you misktakenly show interest, and then it is harder to say "no." We said "no" and were on our way back to PB Rose'." Incidentally, if you decline any offers at the airport, you'll be offered essentially the same thing at the hotel itelf (by the "hostess")... and even if you mistakenly accept an offer at the airport they will buy you out at the hotel and have you go on THEIR timeshare sale thing.
My opinion on the timeshare is that it's not worth it unless you LOVE Cabo and/or do a lot of marlin fishing. The town lacks a lot of character of other Mexican towns... and is rather small (and filled with things "American"). The timeshares are, ultimately, more expensive (though they'll not sell them that way). By the way, nearly everyone accepted US dollars.
Anyway, the PB Rose' is a very nice facility. As others have noted, it is extremely clean and the rooms are nicely done. The smallest rooms are called "Jr Suite"s but they are ampl in their size. Nearly all rooms face the ocean to some extent. We stayed in room 3012 which was getting near the beach itself but was only at the top fo the palm trees in the main area so we couldn't see over them very well. Still, it was nice. Rooms all have verandas and very good housekeeping service. The pool does get crowded and there is always someone there to offer you a drink. Also, as others have noted, there can be noise between rooms (actually above and/or below) but that's more a function of the luck of you is next to you.
Their front desk and conceirge service was excellent. They'll convert money for you or schedule any number or outting/events if you like.
Drinks... gosh, lots availabe at the pool. I'd wait until 3 (3-5 or 6pm) when their happy-hour kicks in and drinks are two for the price of one (making them only $3.75 though they are large). For dinner, we preferred the "Cilantro" restaurant at the sister hotel next door (PB Blanco they now call it). Frankly, the PB Blanco (formerly PB Cabo San Lucas) looked like a nicer place... smaller and all rooms faced the ocean a bit better.
The hotel is in easy walking distance to the town center or just down the beach to "The Office" (restaurant). Everything seemed a bit expensive to me at the hotels, but if one wanted to you could buy food and bring it back to the hotel because there was a nice appointed kitchenette area in the rooms (with microwave, range, frig, silverware, plates, mugs, etc.).
