My husband, daughter and I spent a week at the Rose in June of '05 and are already looking forward to our trip next year. We were genuinely sad to leave and plan to stay longer next year. I don't know about other guests, but the only time we had any issues with the timeshare-selling was upon check-in. Once you're checked in, the front desk staff will direct you to the "hostess desk" who will give you a welcome amenity and show you to your room. We simply asked the front desk for directions to the room and, when the hostess staff tried to stop us on our way, we politely told them we were not, and would never be, interested in a timeshare. That was the only and last time we were approached.

The room (which we had no problem upgrading - for a charge - to a suite) was phenomonal. We have a moderate amount of travel experience and the beds were some of the most comfortable we've ever had! The staff, especially the wait staff at the pool and beach (nothing better than watching your waiter sprint to your lounge chair to deliver your mango margarita), superb. The spa - HEAVENLY!!! I'd avoid the breakfast buffet and the restaurant but the food that is served pool and oceanside can't be beat.

If you're looking for an ideal spot in Cabo, try the Rose'. You won't be disappointed!

Having never been to Mexico before, and having read some scary reviews, I was very apprehensive about our weeklong vacation. I'm happy to say that we did not get sick from the food or the water, and we did not get hounded by the timeshare people! The Rose is very pretty, exceptionally clean, and the waiters around the pool and on the beach were super friendly and went out of their way to keep you happy. The on site restaurant has a different "theme" night each night and while the food was a bit pricey - we never had a meal that wasn't delicious (probably the reason our pants were tight at the end of the trip!) Food prices were comparable to any other tourist resort (i.e. Hawaii, etc), and with 2 teenage boys, we knew we'd be spending a lot for food! The only real "savings" was our room price, which was extrememly resaonable. We got hit up twice re: timeshares and were very polite and firm when telling them that we were not interested. They didn't pester us after that. We jet skied one day (the place on the beach with the yellow jet skis), had a great time, and when we were finished they did their best to find "damage". There was none and we were free to leave. On our last day, my husband and 2 boys decided to jet ski again - this time at Ozzy Watersport - beware of them! They "found" a missing rubber piece from one of the skis and walked my husband to our hotel room to collect $150 for the "damage". I can only imagine how many times they collect a day for this! But...being in Mexico, it was either pay or be taken to the "policia" station. It totally soured my attitude on Mexico and the corruptness I'd heard about. Other than that, our trip was flawless. As I said, the staff at the Rose was wonderful and we all enjoyed the hotel very much. The walk into town (down the dirt road) was a bit depressing, as were the vendors - but it is Mexico. I'm glad we went, but don't really feel an overpowering urge to go back.

I took a family vacation that included my husband, parents and 6 year old cousin. We stayed at the PBR from 6/21 - 6/28. We found the hotel to be immaculately clean. The pool is fantastic for both adults and children, and the hotel restaurants were delicious. They are expensive, but the food is well worth it. We truley enjoyed our stay because they provide a wonderful family environment. There are activities for both children and adults and the environment is safe. Vendors are not allowed to step over a physical line that is drawn up on the beach. You can feel free to sun bathe in peace on the beach or at the pool. The vendors do come around, but never into the sun bathing area. It is up to guests to decide whether they want to interact with the vendors.

I read previous reviews which say this hotel is a timeshare scam. I found it not to be true. We were approached once right after check-in, but we explained that we were not interested and we were never approached again. We never received phone calls or anything. We loved being able to walk around freely without fear of being harrased by timeshare people or vendors.

The hotel rooms were very nice. You have your own kitchenette with very nice pots, pans, dishes and eating utensils. There is a coffee maker and blender. All the kitchen appliances are nice and very clean. The refridgerator is a great size. The best place to go shopping for food is the City Club right across from the hotel.

The restaurants in Cabo are fantastic. The restaurants on the beach are great. We loved The Palms and The Office. They are great places for all meals and best of all they are right on the beach next to the hotel. They are also less expensive than eating in the hotel. Other fabulous restaurants on the center of town are Margaritaville and Ponchos. The food is delicious and again, not as expensive as eating at the hotels.

Hope you find this review useful and enjoy your stay at Cabo San Lucas!

I just returned from a week long vacation in Cabo and a week's stay at the Rose. This hotel is without a doubt one of the best resorts I have stayed at. The staff, the management, the food, the service and the accomodations were fabulous and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The atmosphere of the Rose was very relaxing and for the first time in years I felt i was truly on vacation! If I return to Cabo in the future, I will definitely stay at the Pueblo Bonito Rose again!!

This was our second time at the Rose...First time as owners. The Rose is a beautiful property right on the Beach. The only swimming beach in Cabo is on the hotels property. The water was clear and light blue and warm. The pool was excellent but we found out the pool at the Blanco right next door was a lot warmer. My kids spent their day riding a boogie board and inner tube on the waves.

City Club is right around the corner. You can buy snacks for a good price and a boogie board for $35. 24 bottles of water was about $6.00. 24 cokes were $10.00. WalMart will be in Cabo sometime next year...but who goes to Cabo to go to Walmart?!

We attended 4 timeshare presentations and received $550 bucks in cash. $100 per hour is not that bad. If you go to the 8:30 breakfast you will be on the beach by 11:00. Fiesta Americana was my favorite.

Until next year...
