My husband, daughter and I spent a week at the Rose in June of '05 and are already looking forward to our trip next year. We were genuinely sad to leave and plan to stay longer next year. I don't know about other guests, but the only time we had any issues with the timeshare-selling was upon check-in. Once you're checked in, the front desk staff will direct you to the "hostess desk" who will give you a welcome amenity and show you to your room. We simply asked the front desk for directions to the room and, when the hostess staff tried to stop us on our way, we politely told them we were not, and would never be, interested in a timeshare. That was the only and last time we were approached.
The room (which we had no problem upgrading - for a charge - to a suite) was phenomonal. We have a moderate amount of travel experience and the beds were some of the most comfortable we've ever had! The staff, especially the wait staff at the pool and beach (nothing better than watching your waiter sprint to your lounge chair to deliver your mango margarita), superb. The spa - HEAVENLY!!! I'd avoid the breakfast buffet and the restaurant but the food that is served pool and oceanside can't be beat.
If you're looking for an ideal spot in Cabo, try the Rose'. You won't be disappointed!
