“Enjoyed our two week stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We stayed at the resort for two weeks. The first week we were on our own and the second week we were all inclusive. We enjoyed the first week much more, enjoyed being able to go into town and going to the restaurants of our choice. Did not enjoy their internet, it was too slow and kicked you off all the time. Their TV's we were not able to get any American channels after the first two days. The hotel staff was excellent! They were all very friendly... especially Guadeloupe and Israel by the pool! They made our pool experience very pleasant. My husband enjoyed the fitness facility, it was in their Spa.

“Best vacation/honeymoon EVER!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We just returned from our visit from February 9-16th.

I am 35 and I have been to Mexico and several other destinations on vacations. This has to be by far the best experience ever. The whole hotel is super clean including the rooms, the beds are really comfortable as well as the pillows (which is super important), the staff is super friendly and helpful. The food was also WONDERFUL!!! We did do the all inclusive, however, we did tip in either US dollar and/or pesos as grituity was not included. It was just easier then charging it back to our room. I think a lot of people forgot that. I felt bad for some of the staff.

Some people complained about the tv's and the reception, however, I didnt come from the cold of Minnesota to sit and watch tv. When we went to bed at night we turned it on to unwind and it was fine. It wasnt a new flat screen, but again I wasnt there for the tv.

We met a lot of really nice people that have been coming back to this same resort some up to 20 years in a row, I understand why.

We cannot wait to return again next year, same time, same place.

If you visit....Ask for Juan Carlos in resturant and Wilver on the beach. You won't be disapointed.

“Just returned from the Pueblo Bonito Rose”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

My family of four just returned from a 3 night, 4 day stay at the Pueblo Bonito Rose. We traveled with our two boys, ages 5 and 6. Perfect family resort -- the boys had a blast in the pool and beach. We purchased the all-inclusive, which worked well for us. We loved the resort -- and location on the beach. More suited for families than a romantic couples getaway. The setting is beautiful, grounds well kept and service was quite good.

BIG KUDOS TO EDUARDO AND LIA! I hope they see this, I promised a big public thank you :-)

If you are a foodie, I would say the food choices were average. While ee liked the diversity and themed evenings, the quality of the food was not high end -- more buffet/cruise style.

Cabo, we will be back!!

Dear reviewer,

Thank you very much for your wonderful comments. Eduardo and Lia are excellent employees and they are assets for our company, they were congratulated for their excellent performance and they are very motivated to continue doing a great job.
Our Executive Chef has implemented new theme nights and new menus at Mare Nostrum, Las Palomas and The Grill and they have become very successful.

We appreciate this reviewer’s comments.

Sincerely,

“Wonderful all inclusive experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Never been to Cabo so we went all inclusive and it is wonderful; no worry about taking money with you and the choices are endless! I thought the food choices and quality were excellent and on par with most standard restaurant faire. I did not expect it to be like Ruths Chris, Flemings or Mortons and it wasnt. Breakfast includes an array of fruits, pastries and hot dishes/meats, yogurt, juices and an omelette station. Lunch menu includes seafood, burges, Mexican faire and dessert. Dinner includes a wide range of wonderful sides offered buffet style and a dinner menu featuring seafood and meat selections served with vegetables and potatoes. Many of the nights are themed so on Italian nights you chose your pasta and the sauces are made to order for you at that station; that night the pizza selection is assembled and grilled at the grill on the patio. Bar service is available for all meals and included a very good red and whit wine as well as mixed drinks and alcohol brands such as Johnny Walker Red or J&B for scotch. The best part of all the meals was eating on the patio about 12' from the waves! Sunsets are breathtaking with full view of Lands End, sound of the waves at your feet, good food, good wine, excellent service and your favorite dinner companion(s).

The room was great, bed linens very nice, beds comfortable, bath towels very coarse and rough, space very good with a balcony overlooking the pool, bay and Lands End. Had to call housekeeping twice because the room was not made up at 3:30pm. Poor TV reception and when you choose English the commentary and commercials remain in Spanish so watched the Super Bowl on mute.

Location on Medano is the best! Walked about a mile south and saw the resorts were elevated above the beach about 12' and recessed inward several yards so it a real workout to get your feet wet! At PBR you walk down the steps and youre on the beach and in the water. The poolside sushi bar is literally on the beach and there are ample poolside lounges and waitstaff to bring meals and appetizers all day...this is also part of the all-inclusive plan! You walk about a mile north and youre on the Marina and into town. The Marina is huge and surrounded by restaurants (Cabo Wabo, Johnny Rockets, Ruth Chris, etc) and stores as well as local offerings. About a block from PBR is the Office, which is well known for its party atmosphere, food and drinks. Its location is the best!

Pool is beautiful, only 4' deep, with area for kids. Lounges start getting saved at 6:30 am, as I could see people putting their towel down from the balcony.

On the all inclusive, you can chose to use the PB Los Cabos facility next door...pool, restaurants, etc. Its a bit more sedate atmosphere than PBR, which has activities at the pool in pm.

Cons: Language. Front desk staff barely spoke English and had to repeat themselves many times for me to understand; an assistant said there were no ocean view rooms ONLY pool or gardens; WRONG! We chose pool because it was closer to the Sea of Cortez and had room 2009 with pool and bay view. Would have had great view of bay with higher room. As the numbers increase,i.e.,2043, 3059, etc., youre toward the front garden area and lose some of your bay views. Could not communicate with housekeeping; they spoke no English.

You can get bottled water from restaurants and bar to sip on and take to your room at night, since bottled water is not included on the plan if it comes from your room. We were advised not to drink the tap water and didnt. Never got sick from the water or food!

At the end of a week stay when we checked out, the front desk person pulled out the account, took my keys and said "You owe nothing". Thats the way to take a true vacation!

Room Tip: Rooms with smaller numbers are closer to the bay; higher rooms have best sweeping views.

“love the setting and location--”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

there are few hotels as well located as Pueblo Bonito Rose and its next door neighbor, Pueblo Bonito Blanco, looking straight outat Land's End, seeing the occassional cruise ship come by as you sit on a great beach, the water is swimable, the local beach merchants are regulated, leaving you largely alone, but do have some interesting things every so often--look for Paco if you want jewerly! now fo rthe hotel, the food is surety edible and safe as is the water--not much more tho--its just OK, and the rooms are surely showing thier age with either a lot of maintenence deferred or a real lack of oversight and care by management--too bad--could be a world class place, but as it is, worthy of a visit and it'll make for a great trip, but just not memorable, nor will you rave about it to a friend, but you will rave about the location and setting!

Room Tip: don't get 1st floor--you'll have no view at all--the higher the better!
