“Do it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

The arrival begins with an private escalade there at the airport to shuttle you to the resort. Our flight was 2 hours late, and they literally just waited. By the time we take in the gorgeous sight seeing on the way there, (believe me I didn't realize how beautiful the desert could be), we arrive at the large iron gates of the resort. Before we enter the gates they ask us our welcome beverage preference, by the time we drive through the tunnel we are greeted on the other side by a team of staff and our welcome dreams in hand. Loved that!

Even the BASIC rooms are breath taking and feature a small heated pool on the balcony and a fire place in the room. BTW its a heated pool and not a jacuzzi, but the resort has a fabulous mainly unoccupied jacuzzi to venture down to at night time. This place had basically no rules, it surprised me! The pool and jacuzzi area doesn't close and no one bothers you about bringing down wine or champagne after hours. However even at night the place has surveillance and the area itself is very safe. The waves are incredible, and even though you can't get in the ocean I could stare at the waves hitting the sand all day. All the food was terrific, try all the restaurants you can if you end up just staying at the resort. FYI this place is pricey, so don't be surprised by the service charges, menu options, or drink prices. If you like to have a good time like my husband and I, you may rack up a $200 margarita bill while pool side, lol! However, if your in town and on a budget, no worries because you can literally walk right into town. However I can't recommend enough having dinner at El Farallon....the views and ambiance are stunning!

This resort might not be our favorite in the world, but by far our favorite we've ever been to in Mexico. Between the two of us we've been to Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Ixtapa, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, and Playa Mujeres in Mexico. This beats everything by far out of these places! The staff is wonderful and there is no earthly way possible you can't have a good time at this resort! I was really surprised by the amount of younger people staying here. I would say about 60% of the people we met were between 30-40, which is in our age group. From what I've heard from others that have ventured to many places in Cabo, this is the new 'it' place. The resort is only a few years old.

Moral of the story, stop reading and start booking! Do it! Do it!

Room Tip: If you get burnt, go to the spa....they will provide you with freshly cut aloe vera pieces to sooth...

Dear Astone30,

Thank you for your wonderful review of our hotel and for the great photos that you posted!

We are so pleased that you discovered us and shared your experience with friends on Trip Advisor. Thank you as well for recommending El Farallon for dinner. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the amazing setting perched out on the rocks over the Pacific Ocean!

I am happy that you discovered the aloe vera in the spa. We have aloe growing around the resort, so always have a supply available for those who may have just a bit too much sun!

Thank you for your visit. We look forward to welcoming you back once again in the near future.

Regards,
John Volponi

In one word, perfection.

It's rare to find a hotel which looks better in person that in the sites pictures. Everything is exactly as it should be, the site is breathtaking, the rooms are heaven, the food is amazing and the service was astonishing. Everyone is very pleasant and nice, the perfect balance between service and friendliness.

We had the most amazing honeymoon, Cabo San Lucas is the perfect spot for newlywed's, or personal assistant Daniela made our trip very entertaining and romantic, she recommended the best activities for us, we are very thankfull. In short PERFECT HONEYMOON.

This place has to be experienced as it beauty and service are beyond words. They seriously did everything right. From the entry through the tunnel, to the ridiculous room(plung pool and fireplace), incredible food and amazing location. It is not inexpensive - but you will not be sad you spent it, only that the trip can't last linger.

We've traveled to Cabo a dozen times, but the Capella is by far the best vacation destination for a romantic get away. The staff was personable and very helpful. Our room had an infinity private swimming pool and beautiful terrace perfect for whale watching. We will definately be returning to the Capella.

Room Tip: We chose an ocean view room and loved listening to the ocean during the night. Very peaceful and rel...

I couldn't say enough about how wonderful everything was at Capella, but I can say that it is truly the best place I have ever been and we travel frequently. This will be an annual trip and I can't imagine anyone having anything to ever complain about there. Truly a 5 star resort!

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor and it was very private and had amazing views!

We spent 5 days at the Capella Pedregal and were blown away from the minute they picked us up at the airport. We were celebrating my birthday and were upgraded to a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom suite with a full size kitchen (complete with Viking appliances), and 2 balconies both with amazing ocean views.
The service is amazing; the staff is extremely attentive, but not in an annoying way. For example, my husband and I went for a long walk on the beach on a hot day, as soon as we climbed the stairs to the resort, a staff member was there waiting with 2 ice cold bottles of (complementary) water. We felt spoiled and taken care of the whole time.
The resort is beautiful and extremely clean and well maintained. We loved all of the restaurants and the spa was great too (you can get a day pass for $25 to use their steam, sauna, etc).
Our PA, Marisol, made all of our dinner reservations ahead of time and was always available. We changed the time of one of our activities several times, and she was more than happy to call the company to change it on our behalf. A typical concierge would've been annoyed.
Yes, it is expensive, but extremely well worth it if you can afford it!

We stayed here 2 years ago in a Deluxe Room (Nov 11). The staff, view, room, food are now my Gold Standard and have not been surpassed by another hotel or resort yet. Can't wait to visit again one day. The cliff restaurant is a must for a romantic meal in a stunning spot.
