Owner description: Wild Canyon is a world-class adventure park located in the third fork of El Tule Canyon. El Tule Canyon is an amazing place. The moment you get there, you’ll immediately feel captured by its magic. Situated in the middle of the Baja desert, the canyon features an oasis on its bottom, keeping the vegetation lush and green. And, of course, from here you’ll never lose sight of the breathtaking sparkling Sea of Cortez. In the heart of the park, you’ll find a tempered glass gondola hanging 300 feet above the canyon floor. It’s reached via a cable car in order to perform different activities that send you flying through the air. Other adventures include off-road tours with visits to the beach, zip lines of up to 2,500 feet long and a restaurant serving up great food in the heart of this amazing natural biosphere. Without a doubt, Wild Canyon is a one-of-its-kind place that you will not want to miss while in Los Cabos.

“ZipLine”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2010

Ok so part of this is venting - but the other part is me really being pissed. So first the place- 8 lines - some short some long. long ones you have to go tandem or go backwards.. There is a lot of walking involved and in the heat its brutal.

Was actually really fun -

Ok so why a one. well on one of the lines - the guide mistakenly clipped my harness on wrong- What that meant is i made it a little bit past half way. So that meant i had to pull my self the other half.. in 100 degree heat. i was unable to do any other ones as I was beat. And yeah they felt bad but how about a discount, a rebate on other services. The lady in the front even said - this is normal. Really normal that someone screws up the hook up and forces you to pull yourself across. Thank god it was not a long one otherwise i may have given up.

All i got to say is make sure the long cord goes to the top loop. and the short one to the loop in the middle.. ofcourse one hopes that the guide will do this right.

Like freak accidents, human mistakes happen.  That being said, I was immediately briefed on your situation and along with my senior staff, created a system to ensure this type of scenario never happens again. Thanks for taking the time to write about us, and for making our young company even better.

“Awesome - Awesome - Awesome.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2010

As a more mature adult (53 years old) zip lining may be out of my comfort zone. Having said that I loved Wild Canyon Zip Lines. The staff was great and very reassuring when I told them I was scared. The beginner zip line was great, eased my fears and gave me a feeling that "I could do this". What an adventure, all the zip lines were great. We zipped solo and tandom. There was a lot of hiking and it was tiring but so worth it. Afterward, we sat and had refreshments and visited with the owner, who was very nice and informative about building and maintaining his business. Would I do it again? Absolutely.

“Ziplining!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2010

Had great time on the ziplines. You ride 8 of them, but there is some strenuous/steep hiking in between each one, so the disclaimer about not doing this if you have a heart condition/pregnant/etc is true. nice staff.

“Good Company But Tours Need Some Fine Tuning”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2010

While in Cabo San Lucas, we did both the Green Zebra offroad adventure and canyon zip lining with Wild Canyon Adventures.

Green Zebra dune buggies -
Our family chose the 4 seater vehicle so we could all be together. These Israeli-built vehicles are touted as far more powerful than a Polaris RZR, but having owned a few of the latter, there's no way. The operator is also constantly warned to watch the temperature gauge and make sure it never goes over 220 degrees. Isn't that more of a mechanical issue? The drive belt of the Green Zebra would slip such that it was very slow to drive up steep hills and often smelled of burning rubber. In general, however, the tour did not include a number of good hills; it was more about driving through fairly flat sandy terrain at moderate speeds of 20-30 mph. There's no time allotted to drive it without following the guide, so the tour is primarily a follow-the-leader endeavor. Our vehicle broke down half-way through the trip. They tried to bring us another, but it wouldn't start. In other words, these vehicles have a lot of problems. Yet another was in the process of a full engine rebuild.

Canyon Zip Lining -
To Wild Canyon's credit, they did give us free vouchers for zip lining as a result of the problems. Unfortunately, the zip-lining that was supposed to be a 1.5 hour adventure, went well over 3 hours... in the hot, baking sun. WC had overbooked and had at least 40 people attending the 3:00 time slot. They didn't have enough guides such that after each zip across the canyon, we would all have to get back in line at the following cable and wait for guides to re-start the process. It was not enjoyable at all and everyone was frustrated.

The remedy on the zip lining would be as easy as limiting the number of people participating at a given time. Why take more than you can handle? The staff was nice and the young lady running the company was very accomodating. Although I respect the efforts of the employees, WC has some kinks to work out... and my guess is these stem more from the owner(s) way of conducting business. I would recommend going with one of the other adventure companies in the Cabo San Lucas area.

The Green Zebra Tour: We have also noticed a number of mechanical problems, making it difficult to provide once-in-a-lifetime experiences. So, we have decided to replace this attraction with a stronger/Baja proven vehicle – Wide Open Baja.  Coming this September, guests will be able to take on either a 10 or 20 mile track/lap in a Baja 1000 (Class 10) off-road race car.

Zipline Tour Times: Since your comment, we’ve have changed the brochures, signage, ads, website and handouts – making the Duration Time that was displayed under each activity in a larger font - thanks for the heads up.

My wife and I found Wild Canyon Zip Lines to a fabulous outdoor activity. The staff were superb, paying close attention to all safety details. The 8 zip lines were all superb, long and speedy. The facilities were awesome. Everyone had a thrilling time.
