“A lovely hotel in a beautiful part of France.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

This is a new hotel that has been built in the old French style. Everything was just how we wanted, except for one thing ....... NO TELEVISION ! If you are happy with a CD player in your room - they give you 3 CD's to play - then that's Ok.

The view from our room was of wine vines, a river and one of the most beautiful towns I have ever seen. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is lovely and they give you towels to use by the pool.

after a 50ish kilometre drive west from Figeac at the eastern end of the Lot Valley, which is argueably some of the most wonderful scenery in that area of France you arrive at Saint Cirq le Popie.
It is one of those places that has to be seen to be believed.
Clinging to the side of a cliff of some 200 or more feet it looks out over the Lot River Valley.Looking north from the top of the the cliff you can see the hotel across the river.
The hotel is set in some beautiful grounds with a heated outdoor swimming pool that was cloed while we where there as the weather wasn't good..it was awful actually!
All the staff we came into contact with were friendly and welcoming and made us comfortable.
Our room was very clean and sort of retro modern wit drapes round the bed and polished natural stone floors.
We had a separate toilet and the bath/wet room was very nice all clad in natural slate. The sink was not practical as it looked like an ice cream cone and the tap stopped you get your head down for a wash!!not a black though.
The reception area doubled as a breakfast restaurant and was very clean and tidy.Continental style breakfast was fine and eat as much as you want.
The hotel runs 2 restaurants in the village of St Cirq and runs a free shuttle if you use either one.
Over all our stay was wonderful, spoilt only by the weather

Room Tip: all the rooms were of equal quality, our friends travelling with us had the room next door and it was...

We stayed only one night at the hotel, but we had a wonderful experience. We had booked the 'traditionelle' room - the cheapest one - but they upgraded us to the 'Quercynoise', which was great. It was a beautiful room, with a large comfy bed (with some fancy trappings), a good view of Saint-cirq Lapopie and the hotel's own vineyard. The amenities were great - the bathroom is wonderfully designed. We stayed in April, so couldn't use the swimming pool, but I can imagine it to be a wonderful place to just soak and/or read with a great view of the medieval city. The hotel also provided us with a free trip to the city for dinner (which is very nice, since you can then have a bottle of wine) and also made reservations at a restaurant of our choice. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they spoke english, which was very useful. We did not have the breakfast at the hotel, since it sounded a bit pricey, but other than that, it was a good stay. We wish we could have stayed for a few more days.

Room Tip: If possible get a Quercynoise, since they have a good view and are also more comfy. The economical o...

We were impressed with the quality of materials and design in this superb hotel that overlooks St, Cirq. The hotel breakfast was top quality - best croissants we had in 10 days in France. St. Cirq is truly worthy of visiting but staying there is likely uncomfortable with difficulty in parking, narrow roads and paths and all those tourists. Visit the village for a walkabout and a meal but stay at Hotel Le Saint Cirq.

My husband and I were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. We loved our stay at Hotel Le Saint Cirq. At first I was a little disappointed because the hotel and rooms are not actually old, but reproduction. I soon got over that, with the view of St. Cirq Lapopie right out our window, the little donkey (lapopie) and his two sheep buddies, the vineyard views, delightful! A couple of minor drawbacks here are: there is very little surface space for a traveler to place bathroom things, or luggage, and the toilet has no seat and is in a separate room from the bathroom sink. Otherwise, perfection. Don't miss the breakfast here, which features great local cheeses, butters, jams, butter, fruit, yogurts, honeys, etc. The coffees and hot chocolate, absolutely fresh-squeezed orange juice, and there is no yogurt in the states that is anyway comparable. We purchased the honey used by the hotel in the Wine store over in St. Cirq. Adeline was wonderful and made our stay a joy.

Beautiful clean and spacious room looking out to the pool. The bed was big and comfortable, the views to Saint Cirq Lapopie were gorgeous - what an idyllic spot. I think that this is the prettiest village that we have seen in France and not too touristy yet like Rocamador.
The breakfast was delicious and the front desk ladies were lovely. Highly recommend. Very comfortable and well worth the trip.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

We stayed two nights in the Hotel Le Saint Cirq and loved it. The lady at reception was welcoming and helpful and the room was lovely, with totally stunning views across the river to the village of Saint Cirq Lapopie, last year voted I believe number one of the Plus Beaux Villages of France. The view of the sun gradually rising on the village in the morning was incredible, and if you are booking the hotel do pay extra for a room with this amazing view - unless of course you are an early riser and are happy to get up at sunrise. We did spot a couple of people on one of the rocks beside the village greeting the sun with their exercise routine! The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the bed was large and comfortable. The only criticism I have is that the two chairs in the room were metal with no cushions and one would not use them to sit on. They looked decorative but were definitely not fit for purpose. Perhaps the management would consider putting two comfortable chairs in the room - I am sure this could be done without sacrificing the aesthetics.

The breakfast was delicious, and it was a pleasure to eat it looking out on the lovely views across the beautifully manicured hotel grounds to the village of Saint Cirq Lapopie. We were there in spring so sat inside, but later in the year the breakfast is served on the terrace, which must be delightful.

There is no restaurant, but the owner of the hotel also owns two of the restaurants in the village of Saint Cirq, and a shuttle service is provided in the evenings to take guests across. This is very welcome as it saves the hassle of parking.

All in all a lovely stay - thank you.

Room Tip: Make sure you pay the extra to have a room with a view across to Saint Cirq Lapopie.
