“Un bel ricordo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

I stayed in Ramuse for 4 nights in the beginning of july 2012. The place is lovely with wonderful views and so calm that you can relax a 100%. Paolo, the owner, cooks delightful meals for his guests and give you advices about what to see and do in the area. I toured around in the area, both in the mountains and down to the coast, visited wineries, small villages and filled my eyes with so many beautiful sights. This is the the place to stay in south Marche.

We just came back from a 14days holiday in Ramuse and are still relaxed and overwhelmed. This was a perfect holiday for people looking for nature, calmness, authentic living and perfectly prepared food.
We enjoyed every single moment at this special place and will be back for sure! Thank you again Paolo - and Luca - for the special atmosphere you always created and your hospitality!

We stayed in Ramuse from June 16th till 23rd...And as stated before, we are a bit between thoughts of writing this review, or keep it a secret to ourselves. We had the best time at Ramuse. We had a spacious room with a big refrigirator. The scenery from the beautifull swimming pool is just idyllic. It is a relieve to enjoy the silence while just watching around how beautifull the place is. Lots of medieval villages in driving distance, and also the Adriatic is only half an hour away. But if you're not in too that, you can just enjoy the day at Ramuse, reading a book, relax and enjoy the nature. The food was outstanding. Paolo and coock Lucca provide you with the best regional Italian food. On top of that, they are really entertaining, giving their guests the best time. If you want information, just ask, nothing seems to be too much for these guys. We had the best time with the other very kind guests in Ramuse(dinner was fun every evening), and are looking forward to go back next year.

It is almost a secret that I am afraid to share; but I have to be honest and give a true review; so that others can enjoy it as much as we did. Ramuse is a wonderful place to stay. In the mountains of Marche, near many attractions; but quiet and charming. Paolo is a wonderful and attentive host.
Food prepared by Paolo and his assistant Luka is excellent and something hard to find in other places. Both Paolo and Luka will make every attempt to make you feel relaxed and at home. Sea side resorts and scenic little towns are all around and easy to get to. But I think the most important memory for us will be Ramuse itself with its beauty and breath taking views, warmth and good humor of Paolo and Luka and wonderful people we met while staying there.

We've just come back from our honeymoon and spent several days at Ramuse. In some ways I don't want people to know about this place as its the sort of place you'd like to keep a secret, but the place, the scenery and the host, Paolo make this a wonderful place to stay and experience a beautiful part of Italy. The food is a key part of your stay and if you want some home cooked, home grown Italian food, this is the place for you. The Siblini mountains are close by (approx 1 hour) and are a fantasic place to walk and explore (along with waring off some of those courses!).

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2012

Though not easy to find, as our GPS system didn’t match the coordinates we’d taken from the Ramuse web page, we finally came upon a local who pointed us in the right direction to the turn-off by a huge oak tree. Turning off the main road, the three kilometres of well-made dirt road was well signposted. The house is down a slope from where we parked the car, and our room was up a steep flight of stairs, but there was a warm welcome from Paolo who carried our bags and, shortly afterwards, reappeared with a couple of glasses of wine.

Our room was in fact a suite, with a kitchen, though we didn’t need to use it as we intended to dine in – a good decision, as Paolo is a great chef, and we enjoyed delicious dinners on the two nights we stayed. Everything was made from local produce, with herbs and vegetables from Paolo’s kitchen garden which is taking shape, with plans for even further enlargement.

The old family farmhouse has been lovingly restored by Paolo, and despite the weather being quite cold with intermittent rain, we felt cosy inside. The bedroom had a rustic charm, with a big comfortable bed.

Breakfasts were generous and rustic – fruit, local cheese, salami, bread and acacia honey, and Paolo’s own home-made plum jam. And of course great coffee.

We were the only guests on our first night, but we were joined at dinner by Moreno Moretti of lemarcheholiday.net, with whom we’d organised to go on a truffle hunt the following day. It was a convivial evening and we learned something of the way of life in Le Marche.

The next night we were joined by two other couples at dinner, and they were lucky enough to be able to share the truffle that we brought back from our day in the woods – Paolo incorporated it into our meal. Of course Paolo made the pasta by hand, and one night we enjoyed a superb tiramisu which he whipped up on the spot.

Our group actually found five truffles during the walk in the woods but we consumed the rest over lunch at a restaurant in a charming country village.

While we were eating our dinner, one couple had phoned to say they were lost and Paolo immediately dashed out to find them and guide them through the darkness to Ramuse. Paolo is a great host – his generous hospitality and affability made for a memorable stay; we only wish we could have stayed longer.
