“Magical and delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

From the cobblestone street of this Pueblo Magico, you enter into a house with history and beauty. The house is a classical Colonial, with stone and earthy colors all around, plus an ample center patio which in this case has trees which provide shade in sunny days (the majority in San Miguel). We came with our teenage boys, and were surprised at a creative menu. Watch out for the salsas they bring in the beginning! some of them are ruthlessly spicy, and the server will caution you in advance,so no worries. Nevertheless, really tasty. We had salmon with a chipotle-sweet sauce made in heaven, and quesadillas with spinach and shrimp, out of this world. The house is so amazing, I had to take a tour. I found rooms decorated with elegant Mexican style, art everywhere, even the bathroom had stained glass which will blow your mind. The place is obviously loved - someone takes care of this restaurant like you take care of a child, with devotion. Highly recommendable, do not miss it!

“A beatiful setting and good Yucatecan food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

My husband and I found this place by accident looking at the pages of a tourist brochure about San Miguel de Allende that we picked up at the casa de Allende museum. We have been to Yucatan and we enjoyed the food from that area so we decided to give this restaurant a try.
The interior courtyad setting was very nice, full of lush plants and there were hummingbird feeders scattered about so we were entertained by a variety of pretty hummingbirds that came to eat while we were there. There was live music, but it was very nice music and it was not too loud.
Service was good and fast. We had the cochinita pibil and the chicken pibil and they were both very good. The lemon pie was also very good.
There is a terrace upstairs that you can visit via a narrow winding staircase. The views from there are really nice, you can see the main church and other roof patios around you.
We really enjoyed this relaxing restaurant with good food and service. I would go back there if I return to San Miguel de Allende.

“A taste of Yucatan in San Miguel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Ithas a beautiful setting, the food is very good, very different but very good. Their best dish is Cochinita Pibil, but you have to taste some of the very different food they have. The service is great, the owners were there and they are very nice welcoming people!

“Great garden”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

Great setting, above average food. Slightly pricey. All of our dishes were very tasty and I think one cannot go too far wrong here. Just a little more expensive than others in the area.
