Description: Chef Ana Lilia Galindo serves up a globe-spanning menu in Chamonix's cozy, hearth-warmed dining room. The specialty here is the aptly named Swiss fillet— medallions of beef wrapped in ham and cheese. But frequent fliers will also be pleased by traditional Mexican dishes like beef-stuffed poblano chiles, spicy Sri Lankan curry, Vietnamese spring rolls, and an array of fresh pastas. In fine weather, the pretty outdoor terrace is a lovely place to linger.

“A favourite comida spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

We love Chamonix with its pretty courtyard and charming staff who always make you feel so welcome - I just celebrated my birthday there with family and had a wonderful meal - my children snuck a cake into kitchen which was served with many candles and a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday - we will go back often and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting San Miguel.

“Charming and great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Chamonix, Sollano 17. This is one of my favorite spots in San Miguel. There is a quaint shop in front specializing in all things french. There are 2 dining areas, one inside, one outside patio. There is no view from the dinging areas, but that's made up for by the charm of the decor. The outside patio is enclosed with a very old stone wall and trees. If it's chilly they'll bring you a heater. The inside dining room is small but cozy, like being in someone's house, complete with fireplace.

The food - fantastic huge artichoke appetizer stuffed with olive tapenade (sp) and Parmesan cheese. My favorite dinner there is their filet mignon, (I think the best in the town), which comes with 2 goat cheese or Portobello raviolis and a Parmesan crisp on top. Many good pastas, one being their shrimp over linguine in a lemon sauce.

It's not terribly expensive unless you drink a lot of wine. Not cheap either but good value for the quality of the food, and the service is good. BYOB not allowed as far as I know. Chamonix is just across the street from another favorite, "The Restaurant".
Chef Ana Lilia Galindo Chávez is world class and a really nice person.

“I've been there -- and it's good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

You'd think this might be a French restaurant. But we had food which was a mix of Mexican, Vietnamese, Italian. It was actually quite good, and it's all in a lovely little courtyard with umbrellas. Good service, too. Cost was 620 pesos (including tip) with two beers each and a good dinner for two.

“Excellent Food, excellent prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

My partner and I stumbled upon this restaurant, tucked away around the corner from the main plaza (El Jardin). What a great find! Excellent food and service with good prices, a great value. It's location is a quiet little courtyard around the corner from the main plaza with the fabulous Baroque cathedral, so you're just steps from all the evening activity, but miles away in terms of ambience. Varied menu, decent wines.

“Pros and cons”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

Pros: A beautiful, romantic space and attentive, professional wait staff.

Cons: Ingredients are sometimes not the freshest, some dishes are cooked in advance and frozen (we were once served an ancient, gray chocolate mousse here), and microwavery is involved in the cooking.
