“Feel daily life of SMA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

This is more than a library. It's a memorable gathering point for Spanish and English speakers of all ages to share books, chess, movies, music and food. A perfect place to stop whether you're passing through or living in SMA.

“Nice Selection of Books and a Pleasant Cafe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Being a "bookie" I have a library card here. This is a bi-lingual library with a good, not great selection. What it also has are on-going lectures, wi-fi, the Cafe Santa Ana, which is okay fare and I think dance classes on the first floor.

It's plaza area is a quiet oasis in an otherwise bustling San Miguel. Expect to see loads of foreigners, some of whom are teaching english to Mexican students on a volunteer basis.

Go see the murals, they are (alone) worth the visit.

“Oasis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

This is a great little oasis in the city. Great place to find English speakers, if you need a break from Spanish. Plus, there's a lovely little café with a shady courtyard where you can take a breather and enjoy a light lunch. Really worth the visit.

“Love being a volunteer for the San Miguel Public Library House Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

This is my most enjoyable volunteer activity in San Miguel when I am there -at this point for 6 months -Oct-March hopefully longer soon.
Meet people who are very aware of the unique and beautiful art- views, archetecture, furniture and owners of the homes that ar opened for viewing to raise funds for scholarships for the local youth in the area. It is heartwarming to meet people from all parts of the world (usually close to 200 or more very sunday at noon rom the Biliotecqua.
Everyone who goes to these homes appear to be sophisticated, well travelled and care about others. A very positive experience for all. We all have our 'best home list', of course, and mine includes (but is certainly not limited to), Toller Cranstons and Anando's. The courage and joiedevivre of both artists is evident in all aspects of their luxurious and original abodes.
This is a visit perfect for those who go solo or with many. I highly recommend the Sunday House and Garden Tour!
