“Out of the hustle and bustle of downtown....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Reminiscent of the atmosphere of the Chelsea Market in New York or The Distillery District in Toronto, this converted textile factory has been the home of artists, their studios and galleries, merchants selling unique art and home design products, a bookstore, two fine restaurants and a cafe serving quality food and gourmet coffees, for nearly 10 years. It is a great choice for a destination excursion any day of the week but especially Thursdays when artists hold Open Studio day to allow visitors to see them at work. The first Friday of every month is ArtWalk evening when many studios and galleries plan exhibition openings and stay open later, welcoming visitors warmly with drinks and snacks. You might be lucky enough to be in town for one of the Aurora's renowned fiestas, attracting several thousand partygoers for an evening of art, design, music, food and drink. Well worth the 10-15-minute walk from the main square or a short taxi ride for a totally different San Miguel experience.

“Art and Design”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

By all means spend some time here. You just might find something to take home that is a perfect high quality gift or treasure for your home. No tee shirts or low end cutsie nicnacks. Everything is either handmade or very carefully selected merchandise. After shopping have lunch at one of the very good restaurants.

“Art Galleries in Historical Setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

One of the most interesting places to visit in SMA is this disused textile factory with a lot of the machinery still there and some historical photos of when it was operating.
Now it houses many private art galleries with some interesting, original paintings and craft work.
There is a cafe and a restaurant inside the complex, and ample parking space.
It is within easy walking distance of the center of SMA.
