Reminiscent of the atmosphere of the Chelsea Market in New York or The Distillery District in Toronto, this converted textile factory has been the home of artists, their studios and galleries, merchants selling unique art and home design products, a bookstore, two fine restaurants and a cafe serving quality food and gourmet coffees, for nearly 10 years. It is a great choice for a destination excursion any day of the week but especially Thursdays when artists hold Open Studio day to allow visitors to see them at work. The first Friday of every month is ArtWalk evening when many studios and galleries plan exhibition openings and stay open later, welcoming visitors warmly with drinks and snacks. You might be lucky enough to be in town for one of the Aurora's renowned fiestas, attracting several thousand partygoers for an evening of art, design, music, food and drink. Well worth the 10-15-minute walk from the main square or a short taxi ride for a totally different San Miguel experience.
