Stayed here on a gift experience. Excellent. Spotlessly clean room. Spacious and nicely furnished. Lovely conservatory for pre dinner drinks and quality food beautifully presented. Quiet location not too far from coast.

Spent one night as apart of our honeymoon. Really welcoming and phenomenal food and luxurious bedrooms. We would definitely recommend this place.

A pleasantly located hotel with comfy rooms in the communal parts and the bedroom was also comfy and well appointed including a very large bathroom. Breakfast good and evening meal very good quality - our family who came to visit us joined us for dinner and we were very well looked after. Very quiet surroundings meant a good night's sleep both nights. Wi fi does drop out very easily but that did not really mar the experience.

excellent for older couples walking up snowdon and near to conway
the hotel is very very quiet and lacks atmosphere but the rooms are very clean but not much in the way of shampoo and soaps
food excellent and the chef was a laugh the staff are very friendly and helpful
nice gardens great place as a base not much for kids to do a little music in the evenings may make it better to relax in the lounge overall though a nice place to stay

We stayed for 2 nights in a superior room with breakfast and a 3 course dinner at a cost of £420. The house wine was £16.50/bottle.
The hotel is in the country, quiet and peaceful, but easily accessible. There are many places to visit nearby.
"Country House' is a misnomer. It is actually a random collection of somewhat nondescript buildings in an equally nondescript garden. Only the conservatory is really attractive.
The bedroom was spacious, quiet, clean and well furnished.
Where the bedroom, and indeed the whole hotel fell down, was it's rather tired appearance (chipped paint on radiators, carpets rather worn) and a lack of any coherent style. Curtains, carpets and soft furnishings are usually good quality but nothing really matches or complements anything else, giving an overall impression of blandness. The rest of the decor is eclectic - traditional cheese dishes, modernistic sconces, assorted knick-knacks and pieces of furniture scattered at random. There was an overall lack of attention to detail - the same cd played constantly throughout both dinners, books in the lounge seemed to be a job lot and included, for instance, a 2004 National Trust guidebook, the same bunch of white chrysanthemums with a single leftover lily was resurrected in different places at different times, the tasty amuse-bouche was the same on both nights and served in a totally unsuitable glass.
Pre-dinner nibbles in the conservatory were interesting and good. Other than that the food was average for a hotel of this quality.
Having said all this, the owners have only recently taken over, and improving things takes time and money. I hope that they have both.

Booked late this hotel for a weekend break around Bank Holiday, was offered small double or the suite. we chose the suite, which had just been refurbished. The bedroom was beautifully appointed, decorated and furnished. There was also a private little garden off the suite for afternoon tea. There was a fitted wardrobe and dressing area, and an exceptionally large bathroom, with two sinks, large shower cubicle and loo. Plenty of towels and a bath mat, and nicely decorated and tiled, (however there needs to be some attention to be paid to the grouting in the shower area). In the main the suite was well appointed and immaculately clean with a super king bed and oak furniture. There is a small block seperate from the main building but with a very small easy walk to the main house. The furniture in the conservatory is very comfortable (albeit the settees and comfy chairs were quite low to sit in, but there are alternatives. The lounge was well appointed and there is also table and chairs to sit out in in the garden.
The main feature of the hotel is the excellent food and menu, superbly presented and served in the comfortable dining room. The package we went for was the Luxury Champagne break, which included Bed, Full welsh breakfast (also fully appointed buffet which included everything), on arrival afternoon welsh cream tea, with a 5 course evening dinner after canapes. The staff are helpful and serve the clients in an informal and friendly manner.
There is even fresh milk kept in a fridge under the stairs in case you want extra milk in your room for tea and coffee.
Well worth a visit, a car is essential, to tour North Wales, Angelsey and Snowdonia.

Room Tip: super doubles have a small table and chairs to sit out on outside of the patio doors. Suite has pri...
